Boxes were torn up. Inside the main shipping box. So it came from etrailer like this. No paperwork at all. Everything was torn apart and scratched. I expected better.

Oh my goodness! I am sorry that it came this way. We will be in contact with you about the damage it received.

by:

Delivery was on time, but the box it arrived in didn’t fair we’ll and parts were hanging out of the box! But everything was accounted for and the parts were well wrapped. Installation was very easy. The only issue was the locking pins mount plate is tack welded to the primary leg that the motor moves up and down. Those mounting plates had to be removed to install the lead and follow jacks. A grinder made short work of that. I didn’t put the mounting plates back on, instead I used my spring loaded pins that were on the old legs, they were still in good working condition. Also I didn’t use the adjustable cross over rod that came in the package . I opted to use the one that was on my old jacks, it was constructed of heaven gauge tubing and didn’t have a much (slop) movement in it. Also did not use the plastic housing gear box, I purchased a aluminum house gear box from e-trailer a few months back and used that one keeping the plastic for a spare. Very satisfied.

The Bulldog Landing gear set seems to be very well made and installed very easily. It was a slightly configuration than the pieces I removed but the legs went in without any real difficulties. It helped to have a second pair of hands but that wasn't crucial.
As this set doesn't come with a motor I re-used mine and it bolted right up.
In hindsight I should have taken more photos of the unit and parts I removed as I had to think carefully about some steps of the reinstall before I got ahead of myself.
The ordering and subsequent follow-up by etrailer was very good. I felt like they truly care about my experience. I did have some questions about shipment and delivery and they answered my questions promptly.
If I had any criticisms to make it would be with shipment itself. The cardboard box arrived a bit beat up and had some tears in the sides. A couple of the bags inside were also torn and loose parts (bolts etc.) were rolling around inside the box. Thankfully nothing had fallen out, that I'm aware. This was more to do with the choice of carriers though, nothing to do with etrailer itself.
On the whole 2 thumbs up. I'd definitely re-order from etrailer again!

Dwayne,We are replacing our landing gear too with the Bulldog 162 and have an electric motor from the old set. It was good news to hear that an electric motor can be installed on this set of manual Bulldog landing gear legs. So you had no trouble with the connections being the same size??????? Thanks for the info.

The system is still working well to date although to be fair we have not used it much since the install. A move to a different city has limited our camping this past year. I hope to remedy that next year.

Yes we received our Fifth Wheel landing on time, it was exactly what we wanted and the quality was over and above our expectations compared to prices they were selling in stores that sell trailer stuff, you were the best. We have been purchasing from etrailer whatever we need for our Fifth Wheel because you have the best prices and the best quality products always. We can only invite anyone looking for anything for your Fifth Wheel, Winnebago, etc, buy it from etrailer and then watch their movies ON YOU TUBE that will show you exactly how to replace your piece as that is what we have done and if it was easy for my non mechanical husband, anyone will understand the videos. ETRAILER YOU ARE THE BEST.

GREAT, HAD NO PROBLEMS, WISHED THERE WAS AN ETRAILER IN CANADA, FIR THISE WHO DON’T KNOW YOU.

by:

The leg pin came out because of the design, it is not a strong locking mechanism to not pull it all the way out. (My wife pulled it all the way out) Afyer furthet inspection, in addition to poor locking mechanism, the size of the pin is not adequate for the specified weight of the jack.

by:

I ordered this jack set to replace an existing unit that was an electric unit that would go up and down with a switch. This unit I found out after installation would not work with a motor. I ordered a suggested motor from etrailer as well and the unit still does not work. I don't know if it's the motor or that the motor grounds through the unit it attaches to. Other than that it works fine. I would like it to work as designed though so it's not so much work to get on and off of my truck. Thank you.

This landing gear is not confirmed to work with a motor. A similar set up that comes with a motor would be part # LG-3 which is a weld on set with a 34 inch lift and rated for 6500 pounds.

I bought this product to replace a broken landing gear on my 2002 Forest River Sierra Sport 5th Wheel. Upon arrival I quickly discovered that the weld stops were on the wrong sides of the legs for my application, but with a cutting wheel and welder, I was able to remedy this problem fairly easily. The fit otherwise was spot on. I installed this landing gear by myself with no difficulty. After I got it securely mounted, I realized that the old motor from my broken landing gear was different. I have now ordered the high speed replacement motor LG-141893 to install on this landing gear. Overall, installation was easy and the quality of the product appears to be adequate for my application. Thanks to the etrailer.com staff for their help in assuring that this product would work for me.

by:

Brittany thanks… she helped me with a timeline that wasn’t easy to deliver on time. Bulldog Landing gear Package received in perfect condition and installation needed some refinement to fit in my old 98 Nash 5th wheel but with a little work it’s done… works great!

by:

The product came earlier than advised...we figured that would happen. It was all packaged together with no real attempt at protecting the whole unit aside from some shrink wrap around the two seperate landing gears. With that said, there was some paint chipping on the cross bar that connects the lead gear to the following gear, big stinking deal I'm the only one in there.
The landing gear unit was installed about as easily as could be expected considering I was laying on top of my generator to get the drivers side (following) landing gear, in which coincidently, I had to trim a 1/8th inch off of the top cleat that is welded onto it. The distance between the top and bottom was off just that much that the unit would not fit into place if I did not do it. Knowing that I would measure the distance before feeding up into the brackets and climbing in and then over the generator to ind out it was a bit off. Of course the passenger side (lead) gear went in without a hitch and with full easy access.
I installed the bulldog 8000 lb. unit on our 2007 raptor 3712 ts toyhauler. Note: I never downloaded the instructions so...From jacking the unit up from 16" of front clearance to 32" clearance, two small cuts in the under belly to swing the unit in, to the above mentioned customization to completion was 4 hrs. all by myself. I would recommend this product and etrailer.com. I raised and lowered the unit a few times just to try it out and everything was just fine. I should mention I had a previously purchased a metal housed reduction gear and motor that I install instead of the plastic housed gear that it comes with. I have only one complaint and it is the fact of climbing into the generator hatch off of a ladder became a nuicance. But it has nothing to do with the product just the things we have to do if we want to do the work ourselves to save a lot of money.
Again, I would recommend this product and etrailer.com. I hope this review helps!

by:

Bolted right up, easy to install, work great. Did not have any issues wIth the Bully Dog landing. Box was in bad shape from shipping and nuts and bolts scattered out in box but all there. The only I did not like there is no grease fitting on them, I will install a Zerk fitting on them for easy greasing. I would recommend the Bully Dod Landing yhey worked great for me. ALAL W.

by:

I am very satisfied with the landing gear. I had a huge problem with my old set seizing up at the campground. The new ones work great! Also u hige shout out to etrailer. I actually was trying to order another product from them but it couldn't get here in time so they called me in person on a Sunday to help me get some in time and suggested they had the bulldog one is stock and guaranteed thursday delivery, well it came Wednesday. So etrailer is very helpful and great customer service!

by:

Just installed this on my 2009 Seville 40' camper. Installation went well, it was tight getting it to fit in the existing landing jack hole due to the welded bracket for the easy pull pin. I thought there would be zerk fittings for grease but there is none. They seem beefy, time will tell how they hold up. all in all it seems like a good product.

by:

We haven't installed yet, but we are very impressed with everything about this purchase. We originally ordered another set, but it was out of stock. Finally, we decided to go ahead and get the Bulldog set. Ashley immediate took care of canceling the original order and getting the process started for the new set. She estimated we'd have it in a couple of weeks. I was amazed to get a notice that the new set was already on the way early thus week, and it arrived in 2 days! This is an exceptionally well made set, and I can't wait to get on the road again!

This has to be one of the best online purchase experiences I've ever had. It was my first experience with etrailer, but they will be my first choice from now on! Great people, great products, and great service! Who could ask for more? Thanks, etrailer!

by:

Nice well made like all Bulldog jacks. These have 18 inches of jack travel and a pinned drop foot.

by:

Wow. What a great jack setup for the price. And what a good company to buy from. It was fast delivery. I'd recommend etrailer to anyone.

by:

Great set of landing gear for the money. Similar gear was nearly double the price at other vendors.

Very easy insulation, now the motor is making a slipping noise.
Could you please recommend one for me.

For a 13K 5th wheel the Bulldog Tandem Landing Gear Set # BD500162, which is rated for 8000-lbs, will be more than adequate. According to my contact at Bulldog they do not offer a motor kit for this particular jack. For powered landing gear you might instead consider # LG-1 from Stromberg Carlson. This landing gear is rated for 5500-lbs, still enough for your trailer. For a higher-rated powered jack kit use part # RP500708. This is a dual-motor set-up rated for 8,000 pounds.
