Very pleased I made this purchase. It has totally changed the stability of our fifth wheel. Very easy to install and well made.

by:

These are great and made our small 5th wheel rock solid, I mean night and day compared to just landing gear and rear stabilizers. I did have to do some minor fabrication for both the front and the rear. The front was due to the spare tire being mounted under the front of our rig. Also the instructions really suck as do most Lippert components instructions. Way too many words that don't really seem to be coherent, seems like just a few words and some good quality pictures would be more helpful.

Comments
Still love these, space saving and rock solid.

This is a great for stabilizing a 5th wheel!! Way more affective than a tripod! Easy install for anybody that had a drill and good drill bits!!

by:

The JT Strongarms have nice thick finish to guard against rust, the install was easy and our 30' fifth wheel is really stable now, feels solid. Worth every penny.

Comments
Still working great after a year! Still not rusted or corroded.

I installed these on my 2018 Reflection fifth wheel with auto leveling jacks. Instructions are not very clear for rear jacks due to all the different configurations out there. I wish the instructions had more pictures too. On the rear hydraulic jack pads I used the adapter lugs P/N 314592 which meant I needed 2 more swing bolts than what came with the kit. I called Lippert and they sent me 2 more. After everything was installed the rig was solid as could be. Very happy I bought these I really enjoy ordering from you.

by:

Absolutely makes a difference in stability. Before installing these the nose of coach would sway back and forth with the kids running around. Now, little to no movement. Installation was simple and took about 3 hours. Brackets are permanent and do not add any more time to when setting up trailer at site. Would recommend these over any other similar fixes.

For an even bigger footprint, add snap pads. Bro...

Installed the front stabilizers on my 35’ cougar 5er in around 2 hours. The style of our rear electric jack and being insulated requires I add a 3x3 crossmember to anchor to. A job for a latter date.
Just adding the front stabilizers is an improvement over the tripod we were using . One less thing to carry and store.
The installation manual was designed for several different types landing gear which made it a bit confusing. Used Lippert”s installation video.

I just installed this on my Jayco 33 ft. fifth wheel. It was huge improvement, as now it feels like walking through a house. If you can make sense of the instructions that come with the package, you are better than me. You Tube videos were a huge help. Installation for the back stabilizer was hard as I didn't order the extender product that was available (I should have got these), so I repurposed extra mounting tabs that came with the package, and welded the extra tabs on the rear mounting feet. There was not a easy access to a cross member on the rear, so I used the rear bumper. I put the nuts into the rear bumper (4" square tubing) on the end of a wrench attached to a long pipe. It was time consuming but the install was worth it.

Comments
Still extremely pleased with these. Feels like a house on concrete foundation.

Made my 5th wheel toy hauler rock solid.

by:

Everything went well, my 2nd stableizer I've installed. I didn't fell as tired and sore after 15yrs ago.

by:

I'm kind of torn on my star rating. As far as the product goes... yeah 4-star no question. But the instructions and information required to do the job is a 1 or 2.. I'll explain.

First, the good:
The product functions as advertised. It really lessens the trailer shaking considerably. You really have to try to make it shake now where before just walking around made the blind hit the windows.

The hardware is very nice quality.

The bad:
The instructions . They are very wordy and can be confusing if you're not on your game. There should be a lot more pictures. There should be more explaining the adaptation to hydraulic foot pads

I knew I needed to buy the Hydraulic pad adapters but it was not clear when I bought them that I needed 4 and not 2, and in addition to that I needed to buy more swing bolts. I was not very happy about that.

So if you have electric gear you'll probably have everything you need
If you have hydraulic gear be prepared to spend about another $100 for additional hardware, have extra unused hardware from the original kit contents and searching for how these thing should look when finished.

Great! Performs as advertised. Recommended upgrade.

I have had the JTs Strong Arm stabilizers on my fifth wheel for a year now and they really make a difference. No more movement felt while walking across the camper or when the kids are wrestling around in the front bunk house.

Etrailer is always a pleasure to deal with.

Comments
Still working great, and looking good.

Great product. Really helped to stabilize my fifth wheel toy hauler. Very little movement when moving around inside the unit. Much more solid. Installation took about 2-2.5 hrs for both front and back landing. Instructions a little confusing at first but when you figure them out it's real easy. Very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a more solid feel to their RV when set up.

Comments
very happy and satisfied with them as I said earlier everything holds true very satisfied.

The JT Strong Arm kit is a well designed package for installing stabilizers on the front jacks of a 5th wheel. You will need additional hardware and probably need to fabricate an additional cross brace to install the stabilizers on the rear jacks. Installing just the front stabilizers makes a huge improvement in trailer movement making me wonder why the hardware for the rear is not sold as a separate kit which would reduce the price. The installation instructions provided with the package are poorly organized and written and make installation appear more difficult than it really is. On-line videos and other information are more helpful than the instructions with the kit. The kit was supposed to include 3/8"-16 flanged self tapping bolts incorporating cutting grooves. The actual bolts provided were plain bolts without cutting grooves. So after drilling the 5/16" tap drill size for 3/8"-16 bolts in the longitudinal I-beam I attempted to tap the holes. Unfortunately the starter tap broke in torsion on the first hole. Fortunately on my trailer there was access (very limited) to above the I-beam flange so I drilled 3/8" holes and used nuts instead of tapping the I-beam flange. If you choose this approach shift the spacer mount position outward away from the I-beam vertical member by the spacer mount material thickness so the nut does not bear on the corner radius. If you must tap the I-beam flange because there is no access above the flange to install a nut, consider increasing the hole size to be tapped by 1/64 (21/64) understanding this will slightly reduce the thread load capacity. But these threads are not highly loaded. Something to be careful of is the location of the gas line under the trailer. Whatever installation method is used be sure there will be adequate clearance for the stabilizer bar to the gas line when in the fully up position. Overall a very good kit that I would purchase again. You could fabricate the same kit yourself but the end result would probably not be as well constructed unless you have a machine shop.

I installed the struts as directed on the front of my 28ft 5th wheel toy hauler. I also, installed the remaining two struts to my two scissor jacks that are mounted to the frame in front of the front wheel. I'm not completely satisfied with the product. I still have a very noticeable shaking of the trailer when walking inside or climbing up the three steps into the trailer.

Both my brother and my dad put these on their 5th wheel campers, with good reason!
My 2012 Crossroads RV was a bit shakier than my last 5th wheel, so ordered the JT strongarms from etrailer, they matched and beat a competitor's price by 10% with a simple email and link to the competitor's website, Judy is fantastic with getting that done.
My dad and I installed the arms in the campsite while setup, he had already done one of these so he knew what to do, the instructions are extremely wordy and not many pictures so it could have been a little tough to follow if he hadn't already known what he was doing.
Then install took maybe 2 hours, and the trailer is now solid when the arms are locked down. Everything in the box was wrapped so there was no scratching on the arms, etc.
There are stickers with the arms to remind you to loosen up the T-handles before raising/lowering the trailer... great idea because I would have completely forgotten when packing up (my dad actually beat me to it and loosened them off before I even realized).
Probably one of the best upgrades you can do to your camper to eliminate all the chassis movement.

Stabilize my 5th wheel very well. Takes alot of the rockin out, unless you want it to rock. Lol I have 6 point hydraulic auto levelers and u have to get lug adapters, they don't tell u to paint them so they rusted bad. Paint before installing.

by:

The product is awesome, lots of great hardware and installation options. Thanks for keeping the cost down by offering optional mounting styles to those that need them vs putting them in every kit. Installation directions are worse than most offshore furniture assembly directions. I was missing one of the smaller diameter tubes in my box and etrailer got this taken care of very rapidly! The stability improvement to my 5th wheel is simply amazing!

by:

Great product!

These stabilizers
worked great, somewhat easy install. Hardest part is finding the right place to secure the mounting brackets in the front. They make all the difference when you have them tight; then the movement of the 5th wheel is gone.

Product installed easy and works great.
This
is repeat purchase, as I previously installed a set on another trailer I owned. Installation takes a couple of hours for an old guy (LOL). The folks at etrailer like Melissa make the selection process smooth, along with any questions I had.

Comments
Product still working great, no issues with function or quality. Good design and quality hardware.
