Video Transcript for BioLite Manufacturer Spotlight

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and we have some fun guests visiting us here today. So today from BioLite, we have. Hi, my name's Paul. And it's so fun to see like all the different stuff they brought. We have a lot of their things right here at etrailer. I have some fun reviews also showing off how they work, some features, and what you might want to consider about them.

But with being able to talk with BioLite here today, I've had some really interesting questions that I needed answers for. So Paul, you gave us all some trainings on your products. What makes BioLite a little bit different from other people, since you have solar panels, you have lights, you have things that make fire and cook things, but what makes BioLite different Well, they came up with some unique products. The first product was their CampStove, and that's evolved into the CampStove 2+. And it actually creates a thermoelectric charge.

And it also adds oxygen into the fire through a small fan and that gets more complete combustion to the fuel so you have a less smoky fire. So we've taken that technology, and actually the founders learned that there was a big demand for this type of product in developing countries where people live off grid by circumstance and they started making parallel tracks of innovation, so one for the recreational market and one for developing nations. Almost 50% of the people in the world live off grid by circumstance. So we get to play with the fun stuff. Yeah.

And the company gets to make an impact globally. That's awesome because it's like. I do know there's a lot of things that are focused purely on people that go off-grid by choice, like that's their weekend hobby, or they wanna go on vacation and they wanna go out into the woods for a month. But that makes it different from people who have no choice, or like according to the circumstances, they need something that works for them. I noticed, I use the CampStove a bit.

It's definitely a two-in-one product. It not only boils the water so I can make coffee, but it also charges the battery on my phone, which is awesome. I really enjoyed using it. Do you have a favorite product from all these different things You know, I guess it depends on my circumstance, and sometimes the CampStove is a go-to and I love it, but sometimes it's just a simple, the lights. And I've had a lot of people throughout the industry who will come to us with the AlpenGlow. Other people I work with, like, "I need that for my kids in their bedroom." It's a ton of fun. It's a great camp light, but it also has all kinds of other technologies with it where you can cycle through different colors. You have some. Oh, there it was. And you can shake that and it's color changing. It's changing color. Paul Yeah, they call this firework mode, so you can get the LEDs to be kind of making that fireworks effect. BioLite call this entire accelerometer within this that changes these modes, they call it shake to party. So, you turn off half, cycle through, shake it to get it to change, and then just easy off. You can also charge a phone off of this. It has a hook back here where you can hang it as a lantern, and it lights up quite a large space with the 500. We have three different versions of this, the 500, the 250, and the mini, That's what I've noticed about a lot of you guys' products. It's not just a single-purpose product. There usually is an extra twist to it or an extra surprise to it. Like not only does it cook things, but it also charges things. Not only does your light provide light, but it also provides a fun atmosphere, and you can shake it up and that's really what I've seen. There's a lot of extra features that you might not get with just focused in products. Now, that might be your favorite for having a party or entertainment or having fun at the campsite, but if someone was to only get one thing, maybe their first entrance into BioLite, what do you think they should get Wow. Maybe the HeadLamps charge unit light. I mean those are all very much more accessible. You can get into those types of products for under $100. Right. The CampStove 2+ is amazing. You can have some accessories that go with that, make it into a small tailgating grill, which is really nice. The fan feeds the fire. You can have little tabletop fireplace going right in front of you, and then when you are ready to be done with the fire, you crank all the fan all the way up to high and it'll burn through that material and you can empty it out and put it away cool. Great, that is really nice. I did notice that about the CampStove is like when I was waiting for we're done eating, we're done drinking our coffee, I knew it was still going 'cause the fan was still going. So once the fan shut off, I knew it was safe to just pack it up away and go on with my day. So very versatile. In front of us, we have the FirePit. Could you tell us more about this Yeah, I really like the FirePit. It does not have a thermoelectric generator, but it does have a fan that injects air throughout the fire so you get a smokeless burn. If you watch your fire when you start this up and it gets rolling, there'll be a lot of smoke before you turn on the fan. And once you turn on the fan, that smoke almost completely dissipates. So about 90% cleaner burn, which is really much more comfortable. The other thing I love about it is the X-Ray mesh, allows you to see right through to the fire and that sheath, that warmth from the fire radiates out as well as you're not fighting the smoke as it swirls around. Now what I worked on yesterday, 'cause it was a really sunny day, today, it started raining, so we're all in our rain jackets and rain coats. But before that we we inchesre working on solar panels yesterday and we had some really compact panels. We had the 5+ and the 10+. Could you tell us more about them One of the things I love about the 5+ is that it has a battery included, so you don't have to have a device plugged into it while you're out traveling during the day. It's a weather-resistant solar panel, so it can be out in a light rain if you're out with a mixed bag of weather, but still try to capture some energy from the sun. You can have this out on top of your pack, out on your gear while you're moving. So it does have two silicone plugs that cover the battery port, so a charge-in and a charge-out. So you can leave home with a fully charged battery. This is, depending on the cell phone, about one cell phone charge. The other thing that's great about this unique feature is this crosshairs with a dot. This is basically a sundial. And the shadow of that dot, you line up in between the crosshairs and you'll know that you're getting maximum exposure to the sun. So that'll change throughout the day of course. But you have the kickstand to change the orientation, yeah. The angle, yeah. And then you can just move it as the sun goes through the day. I know, it's just a small little solar panel, but it packs quite a punch. I did notice it's really efficient out in the sun, especially being able to fine tune the efficiency and make sure I'm angled right where the sun is brightest and really covers the solar panel was very helpful for me. This was a fun day. Good little interview. We got to see all the different BioLite products. Got a talk with BioLite today. If you have any questions, check out our videos, our descriptions, our reviews here on our website. But today, my name is Evangeline. I'm Paul. And we're here at etrailer.com.
