Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side rear bumper. After plugging in the connector, route the 7-way end of the harness along the inside of your bumper toward the center of your vehicle.

Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Very straight forward. Less than 5 minutes to install. Love that it is a direct plug in to the factory harness.

Awsome!

2012 Chevrolet Volt

Extremely easy to set up with my trailer brakes and camper 12 volt system.
I would recommend this to anyone who needs to add electric braking system.

by:

this harness has worked well - easy to install etc... HOWEVER - it does not include the bracket for a new install. Not ideal.

by:

Thanks for recommending this part. I did need it. Everything works great. It was a great trailering week.
We were happy campers!

by:
2017 Ford F-150

Worked great for 2017 Ford f-150

by:

I installed the 7 pin trailer connector socket in the bumper where the factory socket goes. The wiring harness was quick to install and went together well. I used the included zip ties to secure the extra wiring up and it all looks great and works well.

by:
2019 Ford F-150

Fairly easy to install, watch the videos for help. I installed mine in the bumper where the factory plug would have been. Looks clean and there is a bracket you can bolt to behind the plastic. Had to drop the spare so if you are also installing a hitch be sure to have it all ready so you do not have to drop it twice.

This works perfect on a 2019 Ford F150… I was able to determine that the wiring harness on my truck would except this plug and still let me utilize the four way… Make sure to look at the harness at the rear of the vehicle before you order anything universal… This saved me a lot of time… The hardest part was installing the bracket for the seven way.

by:
2019 Ford F-150

Perfect fit for my 2019 Ford F-150 XLT. It fits like a glove and feels as sturdy as can be. I will always buy hitches from etrailer & Curt.

by:
2018 Ford F-150

My F150 did not come with the tow package. This was the perfect harness. I watched the video and followed the directions exactly. Worked perfect. Didn't need to lower the spare or put on jacks. Just hosed off underneath the day before so I had a semi clean area to work in.

Bracket screws are rusty. I’ll replace with stainless steel.

This was one of the best experiences I've had dealing with a company...Odelia was so helpful, courteous, and friendly.... She went out of her way to satisfy me as a customer... Thank you

by:

The hardware rusted in less that a month and needed to be replaced with stainless.

by:

My package came in on time.

by:

Easy to install and great product.

by:
2015 Ford F-150

The hitch fit perfectly. It was definitely worthwhile to watch the videos on the installation, as that was hugely helpful.

Really pleased with the quality and finish of the hitch, even though it tucks up perfectly and you cannot really see it.

The price was very reasonable and the hitch arrived in only a couple of days. I did choose to install the 7-way Trailer Connector into the bumper cover, as there is a hole behind the plastic already for the factory connection, as you can see in the pictures. A 2 inch hole saw made quick work of that part.

The T-Connector wiring harness was awesome. This was definitely plug in and ready to go just like the video.

In general, great price and product support. Thank You

by:

Wow! This is a great product! Its plug and play with the right parts. I suggest calling and speaking to someone before ordering this harness because the bracket for the seven pin plug is not included and the one I ordered didn't have the hardware holes in the right place requiring me to spend considerable time reworking it to fit (customer was waiting in the lobby!). If the harness had come with the right bracket, it would have taken 15 minutes to install. Unless you have tiny arms, you must lower the spare and then drill one hole for a ground wire (screw included). Overall, I still rate it as a 5 star because it is a great part and Mariah A. did and EXCELLENT job of getting it to me on short notice. I suggest etrailer.com recommend the correct bracket that fits that plug on the page for this harness.

Comments
I recommend the Pollak Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware PK12711U when a mounting bracket is needed with a 7-Way connector because this mounting bracket has slotted holes for installation, allowing for more wiggle room with the size of the 7-way mounting holes.

2020 Ford F-150

This was a very easy installation just like it says plug and play. I used a 2" hole saw and mounted it on bumper where factory one would have been installed instead of using mounting bracket I purchased with it. It Looks great and took maybe a half hour to install. Very good quality.

by:

Wow. Great customer service. This wiring kit has been installed for a whole year. No issues at all, is stilll tucked away nicely. I even got a flat and had to drop my spare tire, wiring harness was not an issue and was not in the way, sat nicely tucked away.

by:
2019 Ford F-150

Plug and play made it easy

by:

Very good harness

by:
2018 Ford F-150

I have a 2018 Ford F150 XLT no tow package: This harness was easy to connect and setup. In testing the terminals with a meter: I spent a lot of time checking fuses and cabling to the 7pin... The 4pin was active and working. Finally I unplugged the 4pin in troubleshooting, and the 7pin was alive- including voltage at the brake. I was under the impression that the 4 pole would still work depending which was hooked up- with signals going to both. Maybe since I have not connected to a 7pin trailer yet?

by:

The order arrived quickly and exactly as ordered. However, the bracket I. ordered did not have holes that matched the trailer cable connector requiring me to drill for correct fitting. I did have a technical issue which I was helped with by Ricky. He was helpful in trying to solve this problem.

by:
2019 Ford F-150

Great customer service as well as the You Tube videos that explain step by step instructions on how to install any part.

by:

Great product, but I should have waited to purchase since it is now on sale for soooo much less than what I paid for it!

by:

The connectors was a little to wide for the factory connectors to fit , so I took some sand paper and sanded down the edges and it fit perfectly. Easy is the word on the install and it works perfectly. I recommend and if it’s not fitting , just side those outside ridges down and it will slide right in and make a perfect connection . Took less than 10 minutes from start to finish.

You can install a 7 way connector on your 2019 Ford F-150 by using the Curt T-Connector # C56413, which will plug into the factory supplied 4 way connector plug on your vehicle and give you a fully functioning 7 way connector. • Location of Factory Connector For Installing Curt C56413 7-Way TrailerConnector
Where exactly are you attempting to plug the harness in? Unlike many trailer connectors, the # C56413 doesn't use a round connector. The connector you're looking for is located on the cross-member directly behind the 7-way, it could be partially hidden by the spare tire, so dropping the spare could make it easier to find. I've linked to a video showing where the connector is located, fast forward to the 3:05 minute mark and you'll see the connector I'm speaking of.
