The box arrived opened and damaged. My wiring harness was missing. When I called to tell them my wiring harness was missing they told me that it was shipping separately but could not tell me when it would arrive. I later got an email telling me all of my items were delivered and asked me to leave a review. I still don't have my wiring harness and will not have the hitch installed by this weekend like needed because I don't know if I am ever getting my wiring harness.not to mention the box had no padding around the hitch so it's all scratched up.

I am sorry to hear that your order arrived in this condition. I see that our customer service department is currently working on a solution for you.

Worked exactly how described, great replacement for my risty only bracket and 7 pin connector. Fits my 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD perfect, plug and play. Bought specifically because the bracket is included. And with both 4 and 7 pin connectors, I don't have to use an adapter anymore!

I am not sure how this bracket passed quality control. It sure is a good thing I'm not planning on using it. Really disappointing to see how quality is overlooked during the packaging process. This should have never left in this condition.

Oh! It is definitely not how we want the bracket to arrive to you. I will have our Customer Service team reach out.

7 and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket does not fit my towing vehicle.

Today I just received my etrailer order #114979486, that consisted of: Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector (ITEM # C56431) and 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket - Vehicle End (ITEM # HM40975) for my 2020 Ford Ranger. I easily installed the harness, but the Trailer Connector Socket does not seem to fit on the rear bumper, next to the license plate.

Last week, I chatted with etrailer customer support rep and I was assured that the connector Socket (ITEM # HM40975) would fit on my 2020 Ford Ranger.

This etrailer customer support representative referenced a previous Q&A Topic titled, "Can the HM40975 be used on a 2021 Ford Ranger". I was also assured that 2020 and 2021 Rangers have identically constructed rear bumpers.

Today, I spoke with a different etrailer customer support representative. This rep told me 7-Way Trailer Connector (ITEM # C56431) was not compatible with the 2020 Ford Ranger recommend reaching out to the manufacturer directly for more information.

I'm very frustrated!!!! Can I please get a solution to this issue ASAP.

I am sorry that this has been a frustrating experience, however I do have an answer for you. The Hopkins connector part # HM40975 is technically not a fit on its own for a 2020 Ford Ranger. The short reason why is that the Ford Rangers do not have the round US Carr type of connector to plug into. Now by adding the Curt harness part # C56431 like you did, does make that round connector that you can plug into the back of the Hopkins connector that will give you the 7 and 4 way you want. Since it is using two different manufacturer products together, I do encourage you to test the 4 and 7 way to make sure all the signals are working correctly. In theory they work together, however they are not tested. The issue is going to be that the bracket that comes with the Hopkins connector is not going to match with anything on the Ford Ranger to connect to. It would just be bolted to the bumper or you could also consider using part # C57202 to install it on your hitch.

Fit and works fine. My old one was just the 4 plug so now I don’t have to use the adapter for 7 prong anymore.

Works fine- no issues.

This was a drop-in. Literally unplug the wiring harness off the blank, pop out the blank, pop in the new connector assembly then plug the wiring harness back into the connector. Honestly took less than 4-minutes. Awesome product. My local hitch install company wanted $150 just for the install of the connector.

2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Super fast shipping easy installation looks better than factory plug love the 7way and 4 way so no more dealing with adapters

Toyota Highlander

I’ve had a great experience with the etrailer company. I fully equipped my 2022 Toyota Highlander which did not come with the factory tow package. I bought the receiver hitch, the wiring harness kit, a brake controller plus this special 7x4 pole connector, which did not come with the wiring harness, which only had.7 pole. I also bought a special bracket to mount the connector where it needed to go. Their service was great. Unfortunately they did not carry the Anderson weight distribution chain type hitch that I purchased from Anderson. They are a well run, customer focused Company that I highly recommend

2003 GMC Sierra

Top quality trailer connector that fir original wiring harness perfectly.
Installed in under 15 minutes.

Works great and looks great. Get compliments on the hitch.

2012 Chevrolet Traverse

I just received my package from and it was nice to open the box and have the right part/part I ordered arrive. Opened up the box staged my parts and started the install. It was very easy with the instructions that were sent and the video on their site that anyone can do this install with no issues. Hitch was on in no less than 15 mins from opening of the box to final torquing of the bolts.

The customer service at this company is top notch. I have never had anyone from a company email me before after ordering from them like I did with this company and in business today you are seeing less and less of this type of customer care and service. AWESOME job Guys and Gals I will buy all my accessories from here.

2000 Ford F-150

Nicely made, exactly what I want, just wish that the bracket was a little longer, the best place to mount it was on bumper and the plastic trim is on the way to open it but the product is better than expected

2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Bracket and plug fit as advertised. My vehicle had the factory harness, and it was truly a plug and play install. Good tutorial video on the website as well.

2018 Nissan Pathfinder

Exactly what I ordered, although I thought it was supposed to be vehicle specific and would connect to the factory wiring it’s not. I have to now order the adapter that goes between this and the Nissan wiring connection.

The product is great and installation instructions were right on the money. But even better was the customer service and the helpful assurance that this hitch receiver would fit our truck with an aftermarket roll pan! Delivery was quick and satisfaction was guaranteed!

2014 Chevrolet Silverado

Here's some snaps of my Hopkins #40975 installation. I can confirm that it's an identical replacement for the 2014 Silverado 1500 trailer-light blank insert, no bracket required. It took me 30 seconds to plug the Silverado's OEM 7-pin round connector (located inside the blank insert) into the #40975 Wiring Kit and snap it into the cutout. Then I tested the flat 4-pin outlet of the #40975 with a 5 dollar 4-pin LED tester from West Marine, and all light functions tested good. Shweet! To remove the OEM blank plug, it helps to reach behind it and pinch the two spring clips holding it in place... same with the #40975 if it needs to be removed for some reason. When I ordered the part from eTrailer, your site had a comment, "This will not fit your vehicle. See below for compatible parts," or words to that effect. Maybe take a look at that and remove the comment, as the #40975 is an exact fit for 2014 Silverado 1500, no bracket needed. Thanks, eTrailer team!

Although I havent towed since installing the Hopkins Pollak wiring kit since I installed it a year ago, I have tested the 4-pin connector for proper function using a 4-pin LED tester from West Marine and it checks out okay. Recently I inspected the kit for water intrusion mentioned by one of the raters, and I found no evidence of moisture inside the dual-connector compartment. On installation, I did make liberal use of the dielectric grease that accompanies the kit. Good product, easy installation, and great price.

2017 Nissan Pathfinder

It came with it's own bracket, which is a plus. It was compatible with's part number C56357, which is also a plus. The self tapping screws being the only hardware coming with the item was a disappointment. I just installed's part number 76301 hitch receiver which has a mounting plate for brackets like this. The self tapping screws, which might have been effective, wouldn't have looked "professional." After finding some hardware which worked, it went on smoothly and fits well with the rest of the assembly.

This product has been working well for the past year. I feel this was a smart purchase.

2015 Audi Q7

Scratched my head for a while, trying to find a quality way to connect this vehicle end 4/7 wire socket to my trailer ready (almost) 2015 Audi Q7. Finally decided that it really didn’t need to be bolted, but could be hose clamped to the existing heavy duty Audi bracket.

Mounted it sideways with a 1” diameter and a 3” diameter hose clamp. Be sure to use a 3” clamp with lots of serrations that all it to tighten it down a lot.

You’ll need to drill out the small hole of the supplied bracket to allow a clamp to fit through it. The other hole is a slot, and works unaltered. Small clamp on bottom, large clamp on top.

You’ll also need to relieve a small spot on the trim piece to make room for the 4-wire door to o-en freely. This is marked as red on one of the pictures.

Looks good and should work good!

Good installation approach for q7’s. Keeps water from collecting in wiring junctions.

2000 Ford F-350 Super Duty

The part is wrong for 2000 F350 with a step (standard) bumper. The bolt holes are not correct and the bracket is too short. Visually check original part for fit. etrailer does not have the correct part. That said my overall experience with etrailer was excellent and I will buy from them again.

2006 Ford F-150

Bracket was not long enough to accommodate my truck . Had to had to fabricate a little in order for the plugs to be able to mate properly with a trailer.

All of the seals are still good and its water tight nothing gets past the little covers

2001 Ford F-150

Just what I needed on my 2001 F-150 since someone snipped all the wiring for the trailer. I’m using a small landscape trailer that requires the 4-pole connector, which works great. I like having the option to use the 7-pole connector when I need it in the future for trailer brakes.

So after breaking the plug on my truck I needed a new part and I needed it quickly. I found the complete setup on and it shipped extremely fast. It was also inexpensive! What a find. Now I just have to find the time to install it. Thanks etrailer!!

I installed the bracketconnector socket on my truck and the installation was a breeze. It actually went easier than expected. The old broken connector popped right off and the new one snapped in place. I had to cut the bent bracket off and drill holes for the screws but the work was minimal. It actually only took about a half hour to complete the job. After destroying the original bracketconnector and thinking I would never be able to fix it I was extremely happy to find this part. Thanks etrailer!

I bought the trailer hitch and one of the connectors that were recommended and the connector bracket does not fit so I need a different connector. Also the angle on this hitch doesnt seem right. I bolt the 4 m12 bolts in and then the theres a gap of 1/2 inch where the 1/4 inch spacers are supposed to go.

Looked up on their website and said it would work... [Plug and Play]. They are gonna charge XX.00 to send back on a XX.00 item. Not my fault it would not work and do not see why I am paying to return.

I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. This harness is meant for a 2020 GMC Savana van that has a factory tow package. If the van does not have a tow package then you would need part # 31345.

Was exactly as stated in description. Just unplugged old plug and plugged in new one. I had two plugs to replace and added an extra "T" plug for another 4 prong. It only took less than 15 minutes to install all 3. Customer service is wonderful. Everything I have bought from ETrailer is top notch and delivered on time or earlier.

It was a breeze to install and it works Great! Love you guys!

Easy plug and play
