Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - 118467

  • Custom Fit
  • Trailer Hitch Wiring
  • 4 Flat
  • Powered Converter
  • Tekonsha

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Subaru Forester with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting, splicing or tapping
    • Locate connection point in rear cargo area
    • Plug in connector
  • Includes ModuLite to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer
  • Protective connection terminals resist corrosion
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector
  • 10-Amp mini fuse included

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 2.1 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 5.6 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, either behind the driver's-side trim panel or in the spare tire compartment. You will need to remove some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, insert the provided fuse into the in-line fuse holder.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector - 118467

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Subaru Forester with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.

Excellent product as usual from etrailer. This is probably the third wiring adapter I’ve brought from etrailer & they’re always plug & play. The only thing that varies is where the connector is located in the vehicle. Luckily Subaru places them in an easy to reach location. Out new 2022 Outback was the easiest yet. The instructions say to “Store the 4-Flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use”. I don’t like the idea of it being closed in the tailgate when in use so I run it through an oval I cut in the spare tire well using a grommet and silicone sealant to ensure it says water tight. The extra wiring is secured to the back side of the bumper and just enough lead hanging out to connect to my utility trailer.

I had this wiring harness installed on my daughter's Subaru Forester with a DrawTight hitch we also purchased from etrailer. The independent mechanic who did the install commented on the quality of the wiring harness when he was showing how it connected. We live in a small town. Word gets around. At least two other people considering a hitch install who also use this same mechanic reached out to me to confirm which parts I ordered. I don't own the car but I see it every few days. I know the lights on the trailer haven't failed. What else can you say, except, 'Go with this one'.

Trailer lights work every time we hook them up.

Easy install of both hitch and wiring. Second hitch I bought from these guys and have been happy with both.

The smaller items were just tossed in the larger box with the receiver. So the box has several holes in it and the wiring harness was laying on the ground next to it when delivered. Also, the locking pin was well overpriced.

We should have done a better job with packing the order and I will share this with our shipping department. Customer Service will be in touch.

2022 Subaru Outback Wagon

This is the second or third hitch I have ordered from etrailer. The selection is excellent & the delivery is amazingly fast. This hitch is for a 2022 Subaru Outback. I have found these hitches to be superior to the Subaru factory hitch.

David - 08/26/2022

Well for starters I was skeptical about how easy the installation and wiring would be according to the videos provided by etrailer .
Contrary to my belief , this was an easy installation with proper instructions according to the paper manual. Also the wiring connectors location and plug in were accurate
Thank you etrailer ( George & Carol )
Best regards

This vehicle specific hitch works perfectly like the install

Subaru XV Crosstrek

This is my 3rd hitch that I've purchased from etrailer..quality product and fast shipping..I needed one for my '21 subaru crosstrek to pull a small trailer and use a small cargo carrier for my bbq, propane tanks, gas cans, etc..things I don't want to haul in my vehicle..the instalation went smooth after watching the helpful video..the hitch is working out great!

The wiring product is perfect and the telephone help I received from an etrailer staff person was prompt, professional, and most helpful.

After installing the wiring my SUV, I was only able to test the rear lights and they tested perfect. I was not able to test the tandem braking system because the camper to be towed was on Vancover Island, 3,000 miles from my home. When I arrived on V.I. and hitched the camper to my SUV, the brakes worked perfectly, in tandem with the SUV brakes on the first try and ever after. Did not even have to do a single adjustment using the knob adjuster. Also, the hitch I bought from etrailers was easy to instali. It too is a terrific product. Be assured, I will order from etrailer all of my future needs that you offer. Could not be more satisfied. Thank you for letting me respond about your products.

Has held up wonderfully for the first year. Installation was pretty straightforward (almost lost one of the rectangular pieces in the frame and etrailer didnt sell individual pieces -- would have had to order a full $60 parts package to get one) but ended up pulling up the trunk trim on the 'floor' of the trunk and could use a coat hanger and flashlight to see the piece and move it back to useful safety. Hopefully that doesnt happen to you, but if so! Dont despair, just pull up the trim as if you were installing the electrical harness and look through the holes that go from your trunk to the inside of the frame.

The harness has failed after just a few light years of use. Disappointing but will replace and see if the new one survives.
Dan K - 06/03/2022

Hitch and wiring harness work well.
box it came in had hole in it and wiring harness nearly fell out. Please secure items together when shipping future orders.

This is the 2nd time I've bought a wiring kit from etrailer that was "Plug & Play". The stock Subaru trailer connector was right where they showed to be in the video & was easy to get to.
I don't care for the idea of running it over the tailgate & body seal so I chose to run it through a conveniently placed rubbed plug in the spare tire well. The tire is held up off the harness by the hard insulation in the tire well bottom. A little silicone sealant around the harness where I snipped the plug to keep the water out & we're done!

It looks like you didnt put the converter box under the wheel well cover like the installation instructions suggest. Did you cut out some foam from the compartment tray to fit around it on the floor? Thanks, I like the idea of going the through the plug in the floor and putting the wire directly outside.
-- comment by: Dennis - 04/08/2015
Hi Dennis,Yes, I simply cut out a little bit of the foam panel. I wanted to keep the convertor box easily accessible. On the off chance it were to fail in the future it would keep it easy to test
-- comment by: Chris B - 05/07/2015

This was an extension piece for the wiring harness for the lights on my utility trailer. It arrived as promised and works as it should. I'm completely satisfied with the purchase.

Relatively easy installation. Hardest part is getting the y harness out of the wheel well. Didn’t have enough harness length to mount box in spare tire well but it did tuck nicely inside of wheel well

We recieved our T-One wiring harness for our new hitch. It was complete as ordered and very easy to install. Works perfectly with our small trailer.

2022 Subaru Forester

I only received 1 item. I have not received the wire harness, as of today. The Curt trailer hitch does not come in a package as you know. The small wire harness, would come in a package. Please send me one,,,ASAP...

We will absolutely be in touch soon. I have sent this over to our customer service team and they will be reaching out soon. We want to get that sent to you quickly.

2015 Subaru Outback Wagon

The kit did not come with the advertised "double-sided tape". I used a self-tapping screw. The harness they led me to is a dead wire. Is there a fuse somewhere else? That was not mentioned in the paper instructions or in the video.

The harness should definitely come with the double sided tape and I will have our customer service team reach out to you. This harness will plug into live connectors and it can be tricky to find the needed connector. I recommend watching the installation that we have on a 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon.
-- Etrailer Expert Jenny N - 07/25/2022

This was the easiest install Ive ever done related to trailer light wiring - Partially due to Suburu's harness features. Great kit.

Wiring Harness - followed the online video and got the job done. Was not difficult, but took a little time. Had to remove some of the paneling install - but was really not an issue. Pretty easy job.

2018 Subaru Outback Wagon

Everything delivered as ordered with easy installation instructions, and working perfectly. The etrailer website was very helpful in selecting what hardware was needed. A bit disappointed the Curt wireless controller doesn’t seat more securely in the 7- way, but the provided safety strap should keep it in place. Would definitely recommend etrailer and will use it again.

2019 Subaru Outback Wagon

This was installed on a 2019 Subaru Outback. I am pleased overall with the wiring harness. The most difficult part of the installation was finding the vehicle wire behind the left side panel. There is a tie-down hook in the front of that panel just behind the back seat. I took that tie-down hook out to loosen up the panel and the blue tape was visible behind the panel. I was able to break the tape and the manipulate the wire from behind the panel. It would be nice to have a little bit longer wire from the plug on the vehicle to the black box on the wiring harness. I was able to tuck the wires and black box behind the left side panel, and then run the wires to the trailer out into the spare tire well until they are needed. There appears to be adequate length of trailer wire to do that. The instructions said to secure the black box to the vehicle with the provided double sided tape. There was not any double sided tape in the box and there really isn't anywhere to secure it on my Outback. It seems pretty secure and the wires seem pretty well protected with the box and wires to the vehicle plug tucked under the left side panel. Minor issues and overall I am pleased with the wiring harness.

Got great. F is location for 23 crosstrek electrical plug. Used long 2” sq tube and bench to hold it level and put on by myself. I am 80.

2022 Subaru Outback Wagon

Compared to a wiring harness I bought from, in 2005, this one seems slightly substandard. The main disappointment is the lack of indicator lights on the dust cover (which my old one has), leading one to go to another online retailer to buy their $x dust cover with test lights. The other real concern is the shortness in length. It could stand to be about 12 inches longer (for a 2022 Subaru Outback). Other than those two points, it seems okay. I won't know for sure until I get the dust cover with test lights. On the positive side: It's absolutely great that it simply plugs into my Subaru's plug (Just raise the floor and plug it in...five minutes from opening the rear door to being finished.).

Your video on how to install hitch and wiring was so simple to follow and easy to understand that I did not even need the instruction sheets. This video convinced me to do it myself and save money allot of money!

The only problem while installing hitch I had was in enlarging the holes in my car. This was because of the material this section was made of , aluminum. or something of the kind, very soft. A die grinder would have made short work of this task. This part took the most time, about 30 min. the rest of the job was complete in another 15 min. I am speaking about the hitch, wiring took another 30 min., you will see why when you view my pictures. The wiring harness connectors fit into my cars harness like it was manufactured a the plant which built my car. The car dealer where I bought the car tried to sell me on them installing hitch and wiring because they claimed your products would need a lot of retrofitting. This was not the case at all. Everything you supplied fit perfect without any necessary modifications, however I did make a modification to the wiring harness to fit my own needs.

I did not like the idea of sticking it out the trunk, so I went to local parts store and picked up a special bracket and connector to install onto the trailer hitch, thus having connector outside car as it should be. If I did not make this mod it would have only taken 10 min. to install. You can see this connector mod in the picture I am sending you.

I have recommended this site to many other people in my fishing club and at work. My brother-in law has just ordered one for his car, seeing how easy my in-stallion was. With your help and a desire to save allot of money anyone can install a hitch, even if you never did one before.

The two wire feeders for the bolts worked great, I never saw this technique before. Without them the job would have been tough to say the least.

As you mentioned, it is wise to have another person help when it comes time to lift the hitch into position. My brother in -law helped me, now he is buying a hitch and I shall help him lift it into position. Maybe if I was not 63 I could have done the job myself.

2021 Subaru Forester

Vey nice, and well built. I've already installed the wire harness, which was as easy as your video made to be. and I look forward to installing the hitch with my son-in-law this coming weekend. Thank you!!!

The Hitch works perfectly, is a perfect fit and as solid as anything. The electrical harness was as easy to install as you presented it on the video.

2019 Subaru Outback Wagon

I received the Draw-Tite Max-Frame trailer hitch receiver class lll 2" custom fit for our Subaru 2019 Outback on the 12th of March, 5 days after ordering it, almost to the minute. It is in pristeen condition. It will be some time before I can get it installed because of the covid19 but I will review it in detail when I can. So far this has been an excellent company to work with.

The wiring was easy to install except for the one spot in the Outback that is a little difficult to get the wires through. Other than that the wires are just the right length and well made.

Subaru can put the factory connector in different locations on the same year vehicle. The only reason I can think of for them to do this is that different assembly plants have the line set up slightly different and on some models in is on the passenger's side, others it is on the driver's side, and still others it is located up at the front of the vehicle behind the passenger's side kick panel. A trailer's wiring harness, like # 118467 doesn't necessarily have to be stored in the rear cargo area. However, in a lot of vehicles there isn't access out of the rear cargo to underneath.
