Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once you've plugged in the T-connector, locate the "towing fuse" position in your fuse box and insert the included 10-amp fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

It was gre3at to find this part as it was not available locally. Ordering was easy abut a bit frustrating. Notice said it would not ship for 5 days after order was placed and then take another 4-5 days to arrive. This ended up altering our plans, but then it arrived on the day it was scheduled to ship. While that was great and product was in good condition and worked as planned, it would have been great to have more accurate information from the start.

I am glad that I found your product on the net it has solved my problem of trying to wire in the lights through the existing wiring which worked for some lights but not all once I had installed the wiring harness that I had purchased form your company I had no problem everything worked fine thanks for me finding your co. and also for the fast delivery I plan on using the lights whenever I use my trailer.
I would gladly recommended your company to anyone with out a doubt.

Thanks Again.

It has worked great for me! I needed to use a [rental] trailer to help my daughter move. After watching the you-tube video on how to install the harness it only took an hour and I was up and running.

by:
2008 Nissan Quest

After watching the video it made installing this harness on my 2008 Nissan Quest pretty easy. Only thing my van didn't have that the video showed on a 2007 model was a screw for the ground wire but not a problem if you have assortment of screws.

Awesome... 10 min job plug n play local shop wanted to run a wire all the way to my battery. This harness. 10 min job no running wires some plug n play pop in a fuse provide in the tow fuse and go. Highly recommend etrailer

by:
2008 Nissan Quest

Went together pretty easily. Not the easiest to pull out the driver's side of the quest to hook up. The paper directions are missing a step concerning the red wire. Glad I watched the video before installing and during install. Haven't actually used it yet, but it's ready to use

by:
2015 Nissan Quest

Very pleased with the product and the order process, shipping was fast. Had a trouble free installation on my 2008 Quest SE, took about 45 minutes, would take 15 if I had to do it again. The instructions provided were OK, but coupled with the online video, I had no problems. Overall very pleased with the purchase.

by:

Great hitch. Installed flawlessly on a 2008 Nissan Quest. Holes were pre-drilled and threaded. I did need a 2nd man to hold up the hitch. total time perhaps 30 minutes and that includes cleaning out the threaded holes.

by:

The wiring kit arrived quickly and installed exactly as the video on etrailer.com showed. Very happy with my purchase!

by:

Wow, great install, great video on this site - Thank you! Couldn't be simpler, just plug it in. Taillights on trailer worked perfectly.

by:
2004 Nissan Quest

If you own a 2004 or newer nissan quest, this is the only harness kit worth buying.

2008 Nissan Quest

Awesome product, easy hook up and reliable. I love you ETrailer.

Plug and play!

by:
2008 Nissan Quest

Easy to Install....you will need to have a drill to drive a self tap screw, other than that, very simple. Item were smash, but not effected in shipping process.

by:
2007 Nissan Quest

Just followed the video on the site. No wondering if I was actually doing it correctly. 20 minutes including finding the couple tools that were needed.

by:
2007 Nissan Quest

Product worked nicely. The online video was a great prep tool before the actual install.

See what our Experts say about this Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring

  • Installation of Trailier Lighting Connector on a 2009 Nissan Quest
Your 2009 Nissan Quest requires a powered converter to protect the vehicles sensitive circuitry form possible overload or shorts. There is a gray power connection in the rear of the vehicle near the taillight connections on the drivers side which will supply power to the trailer taillights. This power wire eliminates the amperage draw on the vehicles taillight system. The best method for installing trailer lighting is to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector...

  • Towing Capacity and Parts Needed to Pull Trailer with 2005 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner
I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2005 Toyota Tacoma and it lists a maximum trailer weight of 3,500 pounds if the truck didn't come equipped with the towing package and 6,500 pounds if it does have the towing package. This represents the heaviest camper trailer that your truck can pull. The manual also lists a payload capacity for the Pre-Runner of 1,268 pounds if you have steel wheels or 1,299 pounds if you have aluminum wheels. The payload capacity represents...

  • Will the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Part 24773 Fit on a 2006 Nissan Quest
The Class III Draw-Tite # 75159, and the one I recommend, is one of trailer hitches that fit your 2006 Nissan Quest. It has a maximum tongue weight of 300 pounds and 3,500 pound towing capacity. It's easy to install and no drilling is required. The custom wiring is the Tow Ready # 118469 and if you need a ball mount, I would get the ball mount kit # 989891 which includes 1-7/8 inch and 2-inch hitch balls, ball mount with 3/4 inch rise or 2-inch drop, pin and clip and a handy storage bag. • Parts Needed to Add a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2006 Nissan Quest
In order to install a 7-Way trailer connector on a 2006 Nissan Quest, you will first need to install the 4-Way harness, # 118469, that you have referenced. I have included links to the isntallation details and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you. With the 4-Way installed, you would then install a 4 and 7 Way Installation Kit # ETBC7. This kit will provide all the wiring and parts needed to install the 7-Way. The Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75159 will fit a 2005 Nissan Quest. It actually fits the 2004 to 2009 Nissan Quest. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit, # EBMK4, which comes with a ball mount, interchangeable ball set, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag. For trailer wiring, use # 118469. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a video showing a...

  • Class III Hitch and Wiring Harness Fits for 2005 Nissan Quest
The hitch you referenced, Draw-Tite 2-inch Class III hitch # 75714, is a confirmed fit on the Nissan Quest for model years 2011 through 2016. But for your 2005 model year there are confirmed hitch fits from both Draw-Tite and Curt, parts # 75159 and # C13563, both of which are shown on the linked page. The hitches made for your 2005 Quest are custom-fit for that vehicle and offer no drill installation. Both are correct fits for the 2004 through 2009 Quest. An install video for the Curt...

  • Availability Of Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2009 Nissan Quest
There are two trailer hitch receiver options for your 2009 Nissan Quest, the Curt # C13563 and the Draw-Tite # 75159. Between these two options I recommend the Curt # C13563 as it is made in the USA so you know you will get a quality hitch, and in our experience the powder coat finish Curt uses holds up a bit better than that found on the Draw-Tite Hitches. If you are planning on towing with your vehicle you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # 118469, and a ball mount. To determine...

  • Trailer Turn Signals Only Work if Running Lights and Brake Lights are On, 2007 Nissan Quest
This could be a ground problem. A bad ground connection can cause all sorts of problems. First check the trailer connectors on the vehicle and on the trailer for any dirt or corrosion and clean them out. Corrosion can also build up behind the connectors where the wires attach. On the vehicle side, make sure that the main ground is attached to a clean bare metal surface on the frame. On the trailer side connector, again make sure that the main ground is attached to a clean metal surface. Use...

  • Can the T-One # 118469 be Installed Without Going Through the Hatch on a 2007 Nissan Quest
You could route the 4-Way connector on the T-One # 118469 through the floor of the trunk on your 2007 Nissan Quest. If you use a rubber grommet like part # A55GB and some sealant like the Loctite RTV 598 # LT37467 it would create a seal so you wouldn't have to worry about having an opening in your floor. Sometimes there is already an existing grommet in which case you would simply cut a slit in it for the 4-Way. To keep your 4-Way secure I recommend using the Mounting Bracket # 18144...

This way you'll get the exact hardware that was included with the hitch originally. For your 2007 Nissan Quest the two hitches available are the Draw-Tite # 75159 and the Curt # C13563.
