Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access the harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

2016 Nissan Rogue

I installed the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness on my 2016 Nissan Rogue. The eTrailer online videos covering the installation was great. Everything worked out according to the online video. The biggest challenge was running the cable to the battery. Everything works using the 4-pole flat trailer connector tester. Thanks for a great product that is easy to install.

2009 Nissan Rogue

Thank you etrailer.com! Not only did the hitch I ordered arrive sooner than expected, it was super easy to install...in about 30-40 minutes. The wiring harness took a bit longer, but thanks to the "how-to" video, we got it installed perfectly, didn't break anything...and it works!! We did the complete install in our driveway, without any jacks. Luckily, I fit under the car with more ease than my husband and was able to thread the wiring just like the video showed. By the way, I'm a 64 year-old grandmother and if I can do this, anyone can. The hitch looks great and we are extremely happy with the entire process, from ordering to install. Thanks John, we will definitely recommend you and your product.

2019 Nissan Rogue

Vehicle came apart exactly as video demonstrated. Unsnapping connectors also as video showed. The only thing I did different from video is I did not run power wire to the battery, I have a twelve volt outlet in the rear side panel on the passenger side and I ran the power line off of that. I used the tester I purchased at etrailer and the system checked out fine.

by:

Everything fit as described. The only hard part was feeding the wiring thru to the battery. But the video instruction could not have easier.

by:
2020 Nissan Rogue

Awesome transaction. Good value and fast delivery. Easy instructions on wiring the harness a d installing the hitch.

by:

It was easy to install thanks to the [online] video, which is also how I learned about this harness as they mentioned the part number

I ordered the kit for a 2021 Nissan Rogue but really needed the not yet available 2022 kit. The connectors are different. I adapted the 2021 kit via cut and splice. I could have ordered a universal kit to accomplish the same outcome. Nissan failed to come up with a connector kit for the 2022. Fishing season approached last year and my spouse wanted to pull her boat..thus..my modification of the 2021 kit.

by:
2018 Nissan Rogue

Item came in today and exactly as described. Will update after installation. The product went out for shipping fast. I would highly recommend paying extra for shipping on small products. Has usps do it and took a week and a half to get to me. I don’t know who etrailer uses because when I ordered my trailer hitch, it got here in a few days.

by:

Loved it simple and easy to install videos on your website help alot to everything worked great.

2010 Nissan Rogue

Was able to find what I needed for my particular vehicle and was able to install with the help of the installation video.

As a former [moving company] hitch installer I always recommend people to get the quick connect wiring for ther car because of their ease of installation and maintenance. No wires to splice witch also means no damage to your cars lighting system. The only difficulty to deal with on the Nissan Rogue is roughing the power wire to the car battery. After a year since the installation all my trailer lights work and I had to do zero maintenance.

2015 Nissan Rogue

Perfect fit
Good instructions

Plug and play harness

by:
2018 Nissan Rogue

The product is solid and the video instructions for both the hitch and wiring was absolutely helpful and easy to follow. It is a sure fit for my vehicle. The time it took me to finish the install and wiring is o/a 2 1/2 hrs. And it is because I did not have a lift or a maintenance bay to go under the vehicle.

I've bought several hitches and parts from etrailer. I've always had excellent service and very quick delivery. I'm not sure what happened this time. Very slow delivery this time.

by:
2015 Nissan Rogue

I have purchased the Tekonsha products in the past, have been pleased, I'm sure it will be more than fine this time around as well. I'm just waiting for cooler weather to come our way so I can install.

by:

Needed a lightweight hitch and wiring harness for getting a small trailer w/ two kayaks to my favorite fishing holes. Super happy with everything. Would recommend etrailer to everybody that asks.

by:
2018 Nissan Rogue

Install instructions were great and item seems like it will do the trick. Two things I wasn’t thrilled about: 1. The instructions don’t provide guidance on routing the connector through a grommet to get it outside (hangs out back gate.) 2. Routing the power to the battery was difficult considering most DIYers don’t have a car lift. Had to jack my car up to get under and route that wire.

2016 Nissan Rogue

My product arrived earlier than expected and the packaging was protective and all intact.

The Curt Hitch Includes everything you need for the installation. Right out of the box you can feel and see the quality. It is a bit heavy so I suggest a helper when you’re ready to lift it up and install the bolts. The installation video was awesome and it even used my year/model Nissan Rogue so everything it showed underneath my vehicle was accurate and there were no surprises. The video suggested tying off the muffler and on my model, and I didn’t need to. All in all, the install was much simpler than I expected and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

The Tekonsha T-One wiring kit (ordered separately) includes everything you need for the installation, down to wiring connectors and zip ties. Quite impressive. I can’t say enough about the quality and thoroughness of the etrailer installation video. It used my exact vehicle so there were no surprises. I used my iPad, watched the entire video to get a feel, and then used pause and play as I proceeded. The only challenging part for me was running the included 12v wire underneath the body frame to the battery. It was an adventure but I got it done. When I was done, the trailer lights lit up and I couldn’t be more pleased, with the product and the support. Thank etrailer for your excellence. Pretty rare these days.

by:

Was fairly easy to install, the only kind was running the power wire under the car and up so it wouldn't snag or drag. Works great otherwise.

by:

This was an exact fit, however, I took away a star based on having to run a constant +12 volts from the rear of vehicle to the battery. It seems that there could have been a connector to the brake light wiring for a constant live 12volts.

by:

Easy installation, and an affordable pr ice.

2011 Nissan Rogue

Thank You All for providing the quality products You offer. The wiring harness for the 2011 Nissan Rogue was easy to install, and exactly what I needed. It was like factory quality construction, and the step by step video from etrailer on you tube made installation simple. Thanks, again, for offering the products to the public. Also, the correspondence, and tracking of Your products was very much appreciated.

  • Attaching the Power Wire for a Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2013 Nissan Rogue
On trailer wiring harness # 118480 for your 2013 Nissan Rogue, you will have to connect the power wire from the converter directly to the vehicle battery. No other 12 volt source should be used. It is not recommended to attach the power wire from the converter to any other 12 volt power source other than directly to the battery. The reasons for this are: connecting to a circuit like that 12VDC outlet defeats the purpose of isolating the trailer wiring from the vehicle wiring so short...

  • Does the Tow Ready Wiring Harness # 118480 Have to Be Run to Vehicle Battery
Powered trailer wiring harnesses like the Tow Ready part # 118480 that you referenced have to have the battery wire run all the way to the positive post of the vehicle battery. The reason for this is so that the taillights of the trailer won't be putting any amperage draw on the delicate taillight wiring of the vehicle. All of the amperage would be drawn from the battery instead. If you were to power the unit from a 12 volt source like what you mentioned you would be defeating the circuit...

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2009 Nissan Rogue
Your Nissan Rogue doesn't have the correct brake light setup for you to be able to splice in a 4-way in the way you described. Trailer wiring requires the stoplights and blinkers to be on the same circuit whereas your vehicle has separate turn signals form the blinkers so a converter would be needed. That's reason number one. Reason number two is that the taillight circuits of your vehicle don't have a high enough amperage rating to power your trailer's lights without overloading the circuits....
