Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system. So about a year ago I bought a reciever hitch, receiver cover, euro style ball and wiring for my 2010 Camry to tow a 4x8 foldable trailer for powersports......Installation was straight forward and dedicated an afternoon for install.....Directions for the products was easy to follow for both products.... so far the wiring is just as I installed it and the hitch is holding up great, you can barely notice that I have a hitch back there. I think it blends in nicely....I anticipate many years of worry free towing....
Customer service is top notch also ????
Easy to install, about 30 minutes from start to finish. Instruction video was easy to follow along with.
Ordered the tenkosha plug and play trailer harness for 2018 outlander with curt hitch .both fit perfect and work well this far ,been about a year . Seem like a good product ,order was easy ,came timely ,and was the right product ,price was good . I call it a win
Installed perfectly and works every time we use it!
The wiring harness was straight forward to install.
My wiring harness has humbly done its work without complaining. A reliable technology
Installing hitch only took 20 minutes
You can hook the wiring power to the plug on passenger side. Lift up cup holder cover to access power . You don’t need to run to battery,
I have used this several times and has never let me down yet. Previously i purchased a competitor brand, i towed my trailer 4 times and it stopped working. Ive had this wiring harness for a year or so and its still working. I recomend it to all.
Took them a week to get me missing hardware. Couldn't install hitch.
The instructions that come with it stink. While accurate, they were a bit like putting IKEA furniture together and I was often unsure if they were talking about the Toyota Camry or what I have, the Mitsubishi Outlander. The plugs were super easy to plug in but horrible to get access to. You basically have to remove a ton of plastic interior body pieces just to get to the stinking thing (on the drivers side). As with most of them, running the 12guage wire to the battery was fun as well. I find it hard to believe there isn't any source of 12volt at the rear of the vehicle that you couldn't tap into. All in all, it works but may be worth paying someone else to install for you unless you have a lift and about 4 hours of time to spare.
Company and Customer service is amazing. Thank you Lori will most definitely order from here again
It took us a while to install because we have little background on pulling trim panels off and knowing where to find things. But, we watched the YouTube video and with the instructions we were able to install the wire harness with little to no problem.
I couldn't give it 5 stars because I haven't put the wiring harness on yet, but it sure got here fast...like two days. I certainly appreciate that.
The item worked OK only once, the first time. I have done some testing. There is continuity from battery to unit. There is continuity from unit's ground to trailer plugin. The lights on the car work fine with the unit's wiring: it gets feed from car controls. The unit is fully sealed so I cannot test continuity from unit to plugin, other than mentioned ground connection. Visually the wires from unit to trailer plugin are fine. I highly suspect the unit itself and not the wiring. I have tried the suggestions online to unplug power to it for some time to no avail. Needless to say, poor rating.
This is my 2nd trailer hitch from e-Trailer. I have a small trailer I use to haul brush, furniture & my recumbent bike. I was very pleased with my first hitch, but after getting a new car, I needed another hitch. The quality products and video instructions make it straight forward to install. My kit required a wire to run from the back of the vehicle to the battery in front. The video outlined the best path to route the wire to avoid hot parts or areas where the wire could be damaged. The connection at the battery included a fuse to prevent a electrical fire if somehow the wire got damaged, like in an accident. When I ordered the 2nd hitch, I received an email letting me know the hitch I selected was no longer available within 3 hours of my order. They suggested another hitch to fit my vehicle. Whenever the need for another hitch arises I know the only place I will go, etrailer.
I had an excellent experience with your company. The product came on time, was complete, and the online tutorial was compelety accurate and helpful!
Could not believe how easy it was to in stall
The product I received came promptly and in great condition. However, upon purchasing the products I spoke with a chat specialist who ensured me these two products were everything I needed to tow my pop up.My dad came over and informed me I cannot tow without a ball and reciever which I did not order because I was told I had everything I needed.Luckily he has the products I need.I would just educate the chat agents a little more on the products.Other then that..no complaints .You guys are great.
This worked great. The only thing that was a little bit of a pain was to run the power wire to the battery. I ran it out under the car attached to brake and feul.line area from trunk to battery. It does work good i have a 98 Camry also that didn't need the power wire but at time I have issue with the 98 blowing tail light fuses. This one works great on the same trailer it is a 2 place snow mobile trailer. This one has side lights also
Works well but not particularly easy to install and directions were of little use. I tried to find a place to fish the power lead through the firewall for an hour but gave up and drilled a hole below and to the left of the steering column. Also, the directions for the Venza say to remove the cargo attachments and plastic in the back. It isn't necessary and doesn't actually help... just remove the black trays and the small access panels for the tail lights. You can reach down and disconnect the wiring harness but it helps to pull the harness away from the tab that secures it to the chassis.
Wiring harness fit the vehicle very well. My only suggestion is that a bracket should be shipped with either the wiring harness or the trailer hitch for the external mount of the four-wire connector. The wiring instructions suggest that the four-wire connector be stored in the trunk and extended out of the hatch when using with a trailer. The harness is made to go through the knockout on the driver's side and connect via a bracket on the trailer hitch. The installer just needs to squeeze the four-wire connector to push it through the rubber knockout opening, and then slit the rubber knockout to fit the flat wire of the four-wire connector.
Just what I needed made putting trailer lights on my Venza very easy. Have used it many times with no issues.
The wiring kit is complete and installation is foolproof. Once installed it works exactly as it should. If you are installing it in an Outlander PHEV, here are some observations you might find useful:
The battery is in the rear of the vehicle and obstructs your exposure to the driver's side wiring. You might want to consider removing the battery entirely so the trim panel can deflected a bit more.
The tail light wires have very little slack and the connectors are a bit difficult to pull apart. I found it helpful to remove the lens assemblies from each side and access the wires that way. Simply remove the two screws and firmly pull the entire lens straight back until it releases from the plastic "C" connector.
This kit made the wiring easy. No question about what went where or how to get it there. I can't wait to get a trailer for my canoe to hook it up. Thanks.
Thanks for the follow up and reply.
--The product itself seems durable and well crafted. The install is mostly straight forward and easy to do however the instructions are not very great. The videos on the website were not helpful for me as they were not my make and model. The greatest difficulty of the install was the running of the wire to the battery and re installing the trim. In my Mitsubishi Outlander I was not able to find a way to run the wire along the outside nor did I want. I ended up running it along the harness but once I got to the dash I could not find a way to get to the engine bay without having to remove the whole dash which I wasn't going to do. After investigating for an hour to find a hidden pathway I just ran the wire out the door and through the quarter panel. Took me about 4 hours to install.
