Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily
    • Locate connection points behind tail lights
    • Plug in T-connector
    • Run hot lead to car battery
  • Includes ModuLite power module that connects directly to battery to avoid overloading vehicle's electrical system
  • Constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 4.2 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 7.5 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed either within your rear cargo area or beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure if you are mounting it near the hitch.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Power Module

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

2010 Ford Escape

I purchased this wiring kit along with a trailer hitch and have to say this wiring kit and instructions were real nice. High quality product that went on easily. Took about an hour to install and test. Worked wonderfully and the cost was real competitive. I would highly recommend this product and for your trailer hitch needs. Great company to deal with from ordering on line to follow-up after the sale, just a great company to work with.

Love the hitch and wiring, use it all the time. Just hauled the trailer 159 miles last weekend and everything works well. Very happy.

2009 Ford Edge

Nothing but props for the folks at etrailer. My hitch receiver for our 2009 Ford Edge arrived a day earlier than I had expected. First time installing one of these and it wasn't too bad but would have been way better with a second set of hands. Got it all in and lined up only to discover one of the rectangular washers was missing from the hardware kit. Fearing the worst, I sent them an email and to my surprise I got an answer within 30 minutes on a Saturday no less. No hoops to jump through or long drawn out procedures. They got my part ordered to ship out and it was here by midweek. Great customer service is what it's all about. Problems arise but the true colors come out by how a company chooses to respond to even a little thing like a missing washer. Thank you etrailer! You have my business again when it's needed and I'll be recommending you when friends ask where to go.

Not Surprisingly the hitch and wiring have worked flawlessly. Very pleased with this product!

2012 Ford Escape

I installed this on a 2012 Ford Escape without OEM towing. The hitch and wiring harness showed up within a few days and was exactly what I ordered. They give you the metic bolts for the OEM but all you need is the 6 carriage bolts, nuts and rectangle washers to install. They give you a wire fish to install the bolts into the frame. Only took about an hour or so since I had a car lift. The wire T-harness plugs directly into the tail lights but it took more time to run and wire tie the power wire along the frame rail to the battery. Other than that it was pretty straight forward. I attached some pictures of the wire fish and bolt install and the finished product

2011 Ford Escape

I am new to car mod-ing and are very inexperienced when it comes to knowing exactly what product to get. This is where etrailer was pretty helpful. The videos are very helpful. The hitch was made to fit my specific vehicle (2011 Ford Escape). I also purchased the specific wiring the site said I needed due to having backup sensors on my vehicle.

However, after successfully installing the hitch, we realized there was a problem with the wiring. The yellow/black wires are meant for the driver's side taillights while the green is meant for the passenger. I'm not sure if I was sent the wrong product or if there was a manufacturing error, but the lengths of wire for each were switched.

The shorter length wires should have been the yellow and black while the long should have been green - instead, they were the opposite, as you can see in the pictures. The black box on the right is meant to be housed in the driver side light assembly, not the passenger. Because of this, I was forced to find a long white wire, fuse it with the ground wire that was supplied, and run it back across the width of my vehicle to the factory ground. While it seems like this won't be an issue, it was very annoying having to alleviate this problem.

Everything else seemed to be correct with the wiring and included items, but I would recommend that everyone inspect your order and watch all videos to make sure your product looks to be correct before attempting to install it.

2008 Lincoln MKX

Exact fitment of the harness to the lights and the installation was easy. The video was an excellent tool to use as it clarified certain steps in the provided paper instructions......Thanks The T-one harness is just the opposite wiring set-up of the harness that is used in the video. I was able to use an existing floor body grommet plug to feed the black 12 gauge hot lead wire under the car(I drilled a 9/64th hole in the rubber grommet plug and feed the wire through the drilled hole). Running the hot lead wire to the front of the vehicle took some time (recommend ramps for better clearance). Hook-up of the fuse line and battery connection was elemental. All parts provided make the installation process very easy. The T-one harness is powering the trailer lights perfectly.

Since I'm electronically challenged I am always a bit apprensive when it comes to electrical wiring. After watching your install video it was such an easy thing to do! Plug-n-play! The hardest part was fishing the hot wire up to the battery. (not the wire but getting my body to fit under the car. It took me about 45 minutes from start to finish. I have a small trailer that I will use from time to time so I needed a to install a receiver hitch ( 13650) and wire harness. This fills the bill for me!

Still going strong!!

A year after the product was purchased
- very unexpected follow up by a retailer.

Must say it was one of the easiest automobile accessories to install given its size and weight. I was able to install the hitch frame myself in a friend's garage with the simplest of tools following the provided directions.

Fit like a glove, meets expectations, and despite a season in New England, still looks great under the rear bumper.

Highly recommend.

2012 Ford Van

Super fast response, delivery of hitch and immediate response to my questions. I can’t say enough good things about etrailer.I will be recommending them to friends.
Thanks to all the helpful people at etrailer

2012 Ford Escape

I’ve ordered several products now from etrailer. They’re always exactly as described and ship fast. This one was no exception - just what I needed to complete the trailer setup on my Ford Escape.

2010 Ford Escape

Bought with trailer hitch -2010 Escape- Good directions. Installed myself and used setup for 2k mile trip towing a Uhaul rental. Good security having the trailer wireing isolated from the auto circuitry. Web site insured I got the right product.

It worked well. Like any wiring job, it entails getting under the car and running a wire directly to the battery. That was the hardest part. Use your brain and follow the instructions. Remember to use the included shrink crimp connectors. I also followed up with additional shrink tubing on a couple of places. Very pleased.

Still doing well. Make sure you put dielectric grease on the trailer plug to reduce corrosion.

I can not express the quality of this order etrailer taken buying auto accessories to a new level. By not only having all the information you need to put the accessories on to the vehicle but adding video to help improve the process all I can say is what a great job and will continue to purchase from etrailer

2012 Ford Escape

At the same time as buying a hidden hitch, I bought the wiring kit as well. We watched the installation video, which was a big help, but we had to change the threading of the wiring to the front a bit since it wouldn't pass through one of the places shown in the video. Other than that, it went better than any other wiring job we have ever done and looks like a pro did it. We did not leave a pig tail wire to wad up and have to store like it was shown, but made a permanent hook-up at the hitch which looks much nicer.

Easy to install. Instructions were clear and easy to follow.

Kit was complete and with easy to follow instructions. I installed it about a year ago and had no issues since. This is a great product! Finding on etrailer was super easy.

It stopped working and cut the junction box and wired it myself

Tow hitch for '12 escape. Works awesome! Was tricky to install by myself, but figured out a way(all the videos showed a 2-man install). Easy to wire up. I use it almost daily.

Very quick delivery and great videos to help with the installation.

Install kit worked perfect, very easy i nstall

Thanks it works perfect I appreciate and will definitely do business again with etrailer

2012 Ford Escape

Right turn signal isn't coming out of the black box of the trailer wire harness. The signal is reaching the black box. Appears the black box is the problem. This happened after approx. 9 months from installation. Used the vehicle to tow a trailer around 30 trips. Not happy about that.

Installation was easy and the directions were helpful. Overall I would be extremely satisfied if I didn't have the turn signal issue.

Given what youve described, it sounds as if the converter box has shorted out. This is typically caused by a short circuit somewhere in the right turn indicator/brake lamp circuit on the trailer. Before replacing the taillight converter, youll want to closely examine the right turn/brake lamp circuit on your trailer. Begin at the trailer connector, and trace that circuit rearward back to the lamp. Look for loose connections, pinched wires or worn or cracked wire insulation that would allow the wire to short out on the trailer frame. If the short isnt located and repaired, youll continue shorting out converter boxes. Ive linked to some help articles that will help you troubleshoot the problem.

2012 Ford Escape

The kit is actually really easy to install. I was fussing around a little with feeding the wire back to the battery. I watched the video on it probably over a week before ordering. If you take your time, it can be routed, but I saw all the tie straps and figured strap it to everything they say to avoid instead. Lol I didn't have to drill a single hole with my 2012 Escape. The weather stripping is so thick. No exposure to weather for the 4 pin. Made more sense than not putting it in the side holder when not in use. The power pack sticks behind a trim panel too.

Dodge Dart

Haven't installed this yet. But if it is anything like the wiring I got for my Dodge Dart, I know it'll do the job it's intended for.

2009 Mercury Mariner

Very easy to install on my 2009 Mercury Mariner. Everything required was included. The only "difficult" part was running the wire from the rear of the car to the positive terminal of the battery. The wire was plenty long enough and more than enough wire ties were included for the job. I took the rear bumper off which made running the wires between the rear lights and the module much easier.

It was working fine. We have since sold the car. Now, since I had such great results, I have to buy a hitch and adapter for my new car.

  • Why is a Hot Wire Needed for Trailer Hitch Wiring On a 2009 Ford Escape
The hot wire to the battery, for trailer wiring on your 2009 Ford Escape, is needed to protect the wiring in your vehicle. Vehicle manufacturers have started using thinner and thinner wiring due to advances in circuitry. When additional load is placed on these wires it can affect the sensitive circuitry in the vehicle. The power wire provides the power to the trailer lights and the vehicle wiring is used as a switch to tell the converter box which circuit is activated. This system also...

  • Why Does Trailer Wiring for a 2011 Ford E-350 Van Require a Converter and Power Wire
Vehicle tail light wiring has changed quite a bit over the past few years. There are basically 2 wire systems and 3 wire systems. A 2 wire system has combined brake lights and turn signals. A 3 wire system has separate turn signals and brake lights. Three wire systems require a converter to change the signal over to a 2 wire system which is what a trailer uses. Also, on some vehicles it has been determined that the electrical system cannot or should not handle the load from its own tail...
