Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system. This product came with everything you need for the install and was simple plug and play. Once I watched the product video showing where each part goes the install was a breeze. I cannot wait to pull my boat behind my Subaru now. This harness works excellent!!
The kit has everything you need aside from a wire stripper and crimper.
The instructions that come with the wiring harness aren't good enough to rely on, but the videos posted here are great.
The eTrailer.com customer service is great.

Works good, install took about 4 hours taking my time, soldering all the connections correctly. Running the power wire to the front was painless. Mounted the module in the left hand side of the trunk.
The Wiring harness I bought for my 2012 Impreza was easy to put on and works great. The kit included everything I needed to do the job right.
I received it in the mail a lot sooner than I expected as well.
Thank you!
Trying fit an odd trailer hitch and wiring harness. These guys were awesome finding a perfect match and even made a return and reorder painless and FAST. Excellent customer service and support!
This was really easy to install and it's worked great for a year!
The wiring easily integrates into the car and functions as designed. The installation is more complex for the Impreza hatchback than for the Crosstrek; despite being virtually identical, only the Crosstrek has a built-in trailer wire connector from the factory, so the Impreza requires a line (ideally routed inside the floor trim) connected to the battery.
I would give 5 stars except for two minor complaints: The split for the taillight connections would benefit from marginally longer wires (which would make subsequent installation or removal of the taillight housing easier); and after 1 year of exposure the trailer connector pins are slightly corroded. Otherwise I'm entirely satisfied with how the harness has worked.
I've installed and used this item. It works just like it should. Installation was a bit tricky but I figured it out. I would have given it 5 stars but downgraded only due to instructions being lacking somewhat.
The instructions that came with it were missing steps as it became obvious when I tried to follow them. It just took a bit of thinking to figure out what really had to happen. Where the connectors had to go was obvious, how to run the wiring was not.
And the wiring that had to be outside the car in order to get the wiring from the left to the right tail light was tricky. It was probably, for me, the receiver I had already installed that made it complicated but it worked out in the end.
In the instructions it mentions that you have the option to run the hot wire (power supply) to the battery terminal either under the car (outside the passenger compartment) or inside and then through (I suppose) the firewall to the battery terminal. I did neither. I really came to the conclusion that there was no possible way to run the wire under the car without having the wire where it was going to be damaged just from normal driving so I didn't do that. Then, for running the wire through the passenger compartment I wasn't going to just blindly drill though the firewall to get to the battery terminal.
What I did do was to run the wire (and there was only one, I had their ground wire bolted to the body in the hatch area) under the seat and then brought it to the center console under the floor mats, attached a cigarette lighter jack to it that included a 10 amp fuse and then used the power outlet in the center console for power (which also was independently fused for 10 amps). So, what I can do is simply pull the plug there when not in use as I was a little concerned there would be a residual power draw when the car was off if I connected directly to the battery. And by connecting to the power jack the power is automatically switched anyway.
All is good, the wiring to the center console is mostly hidden.
This worked perfectly on my 2012 Subaru Impreza. Installation was a little more difficult than I expected. The part that gave me some trouble was running the wire from the harness in the rear to the battery in the front. The instructions are pretty vague about how to do that. I was able to run the wire through the frame of the car using a wire pulling tape and reel (normally used for pulling wires through walls in a home). Otherwise, installation went smoothly and the harness has worked perfectly with my trailer.
the product is really well done if you are not familliar with electricity. the only issue is that they are mentionning that the cord can be store in the trunk but the kit do not allow you to that. the trailer connector and cable should stay outside and be fixed to the hitch with ty-rap. To be able to store the cable in the trunk you have to remove a plug in the trunk and find a trycky way to protect water from enteting in the trunk. The cable will also become a little bit short to connect to with the trailer connector.
So i had to modified all the set up and cut the wire quick connector to do an inside installation without any component abd connection outside the car
The wiring harness itself is great. The instructions on how to actually *install* the wiring harness leave A LOT to be desired. First off, there are only 4 pictures (1 of which is literally just showing you what the trunk lid looks like), but loads of ambiguous text kind-of sort-of telling you what to do. If you do a lot of automotive / electrical work, perhaps this won't be such a huge deal; but if you're a weekend warrior like me, you'll spend as much time scratching your head as you will installing the harness. I recommend watching a YouTube video ahead of time, so you have a better idea of where things are supposed to end up.
The product worked perfectly and was relatively painless to install. I have to add that the customer service support techs (Bill E. in particular) went above and beyond in helping me get it sorted out as the web wizard recommended a different (generic) kit which didn't work with my Impreza Sport. After several emails going back and forth to diagnose the problem, Bill finally was able to get me this kit (at no extra charge) in exchange for the incorrect kit that I ordered. During the whole process he was very courteous and helpful. I Highly Recommend etrailer.com!
Took about two hours to install after making sure to realign the paneling properly. Hardest part is picking a spot to drill through your floor. Worked the first time! Very clear instructions! Would recommend for anyone with a 2012 Impreza wagon!

After a year of using this wiring harness I have zero complaints! Still working great as of this week. Every brake light and turn signal check I have done this year has been successful. Iāve used my trailer a few dozen times and had no problems at all! Glad to have a product that is trustworthy and robust.
Totally misleading on connections, instructions were terrible this is just not a plug-in and go there is splicing involved on a 2015 Subaru Impreza Sport.

This T-One wiring harness plugs into the Impreza Sports existing wiring behind the taillights. The harness will need to be grounded and the power wire for the harness will need to be installed on the vehicles positive battery, I have also linked the installation instructions for reference.
Easy install, extra pair of hands makes sliding/holding in place considerably easier than alone... wiring harness is well worth the price, super easy, don't know why they tell you to drop exhaust or run wires under car to battery... Ran wire thru car, better, no need to drop tail pipe, fits just fine.
Second time with your firm, both times were a charm!
The product itself is excellent. The harness is wired up and works very well. My only recommendation would be to have better instructions on where to run the ground wire in the Subaru. It was not clear from the instructions/ drawings. I did call technical help, they suggested going under the car, which I did, but it took time to sort it out. If that had been in the instruction, it would have been perfect. Instead, my experience was just good.
Good products at prices less than my local hitch places dealer pricing. Surprisingly etrailer.com is more likely to pickup the phone and answer a question than the local dealer also.
This is my second time ordering from etrailer and I can't stress how good they are. prices are reasonable, customer service is outstanding, and products arrive even earlier than they say. I will buy all my car/trailer needs from them.
Wiring harness was not too difficult to install. I found the videos available from etrailer helpful. I found that it has functioned well after 1 year. Would recommend small cable ties or electrical tape to ensure the harness is well secured to the frame or other sturdy support to avoid loosening of the harness. Happy with my purchase.
Works well. I was able to run it under my interior trim and exit the interior through existing wiring grommets.
Fast delivery. Extremely simple to install. Instructions were complete and simple to follow. Works great, I can pull a utility trailer with my car now.
Worked great! Been back a couple of times for additional purchases for our vehicles. Actually have another order pending for wheels/tires
Very easy to install it only took me 40 minutes .
The harness was very easy to install also it was one of the easiest I ever installed in my life would recommend it to everyone.
easy installation. correct fitment. good instructions.
