Replace the 7-way, RV-style trailer connector on your vehicle with this T-One harness. ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system. Brake controller adapter splices into your vehicle's wiring when installing your electric trailer brake controller.
Features:
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the body harness up to your car battery and connect the wires per the included instructions.
Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a 2-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's 3-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
This adapter splices into the 4-pin connector on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness. The harness is located to the left of the steering column, through a grommet in the engine compartment.
This adapter is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller after splicing into your vehicle's wiring. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

The videos are just gold to a DIY-er like me. Beware of how difficult Ford makes it to get to the tail light wiring, though. The video shows installation of the kit in a cargo van, where the tail light access turns out to be fairly simple, but the passenger version requires removal and displacement of multiple panels and the floorboard. I have added some photos to illustrate for my 12-passenger 2018 Transit 350 XLT. I will say that this etrailer solution is MUCH cheaper and less intrusive than trying to use the factory-installed system. It turns out that even if you have the wiring installed, and I think *all* models have the harness to at least the rear axle, it still takes reprogramming the computer, replacing the center console, installing a controller, and losing your cup holders, in addition to buying the remaining wire harness, etc. It took me about 4 hours to complete.
Clear instructions, good quality harness. Aside from the work to secure the harness under the vehicle, the rest was easy.
Easy ordering and love the updated shipping information. Thanks
After installing the wire harness that only took a few hours I put it to use and in the past year have had no problems with it. The instructions were very well done. I am very pleased with this product.

Product still working just like it should. Used it just the other day to pull my bass boat home from a high school tournament after we camped the entire weekend.
Installed on a 2016 Transit 350.
The quality of this kit is pretty good, but there are two things that are problematic.
First and most important, the connectors for the factory harness to do not line up with the actual Ford factory connectors in the taillights. I had to cut off one side of the prongs that should slide into the factory connector. Be sure to check first as only one of them is off - line it up and it will be obvious which one is off.
Second, if installing this on a Transit without a factory harness there is no way for you to attach the 7 pin outlet. Does not come with the metal bracket to attach the outlet to your bumper. The length of the socket isn't going to allow you to really drill a hole and mount in the socket in the plastic.
Last, there is a small box that goes in the drivers side cavity at the rear tailight that also has a ground wire attached. The length of the ground wire pretty much means you need to place it at the bottom of the cavity. They could lengthen that 6 inches so you can zip tie it high up in the cavity, but this is minor compared to points 1 & 2 above.
Pay attention to the diagram for insetting the wires into the socket. Really easy as long as you orient it properly. They click in so don't force them - twist until it lines up.
In the end it is cheaper than the Ford harness and a bazillion dollars less than letting Ford install it.
We ordered the wire harness kit that was supposed to come with the 7 way plug. When the items arrived the 7 way plug was not in the box with the wire harness. I called to inform them of the mistake and let them know we needed the 7 way plug asap since we scheduled the job in and now we are behind on the repair. They would not expedite the replacement order even know they are the ones who forgot to send everything. At the end of the day my customer was disappointed in the delay as was I.
Installed as expected with the exception of a missing part. I thought it was all inclusive but the bracket for the 7-way plug is not included. Got to the end of the install and realized it was missing and had to go back and order the bracket. Not a big expense but wish it was included so project can be completed.
Since we Installed Brake controller, We have towed the boat across the country without any issues. Installation was simple.
We ordered our trailer lighting kit on a Monday had it shipped over night and received early Tuesday. We had the trailer working properly in 2.5 hours. The kit was easy to install and everything worked perfectly.

No problems, still works as advertised. One thing I didnt say in my original review, but realized others wrestled with as I read other reviews, is that the first kit I got turned out to be an HD model-the pins didnt fit the tail lights. I see another reviewer that thought they were just wrong and cut them off, but actually Im guessing he had the wrong model. I returned the original one and got the correct one, but noted to the eTrailer agent I talked with that you couldnt easily tell the difference by looking at the web site.
