Replace the 7-way, RV-style trailer connector on your vehicle with this T-One harness. ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system. Brake controller adapter attaches to included body harness and lets you easily plug in your electric brake controller.

Specs:
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area. You will have to remove access panels, storage trays, and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the body harness up to your car battery, and route the blue wire up to the grommet that leads into the cargo door. Then connect all of the wires per the included instructions.
Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a 2-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's 3-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
This adapter hardwires to the body harness that is included in this kit. Just connect the black wire from the brake controller adapter to your car battery, and connect the white wire to a suitable ground. The remaining wires can then be easily spliced into the body harness with the included butt connectors.
This adapter is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller. Because the harness does not hardware to your controller, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

Replacement socket works well.
I was under the impression (mainly from the video) that this was a complete package. It turns out I had to drop another $168 or so for the controller & related accessories. Extremely disappointed.
Great fit overall would have been better if the trailer pigtail wire was about 4-6" linger
Everything arrived as expected and in a timely fashion after all parts where in will install probably next week and see how that goes thanks Quinn and everyone at etrailer for all your help will be in touch.
The device works great. We did decide to have it installed by the dealership.
Neither the installation instructions nor the Tekonsha technician can adequately define which red wire (back of the vehicle) is the proper one for splicing. There are 2 red wires in the bundle of wires specified, same size and color. A local trailer shop also turned down helping complete the installation. The Toyota dealership also declined to work on the situation. The harness is not functional for this reason. There are multiple other accounts from other guys trying to complete the installation relative to this exact issue on the internet.
Very prompt! Thank you so much!
This was supposed to be a custom fit for a 2014 Toyota Highlander, however I had to make a number of customizations to make it fit. For example, the length of wires from the 10-pin connector to the grommet was too short and required inserting a 12-18 inch extension (about 4 or 5 wires plus 8 to 10 heat shrink butt connections). The wires from the grommet to the 7-blade plug connection were also too short and required extending all 7 wires about 12 inches (additional 14 heat shrink butt connections required plus a lot of electrical tape to protect it). The grommet was kind of funky - seems like it was installed upside down. I used the old grommet and cut it to allow wires to run through it. The old grommet mounts on the inside versus the outside mount that came with the kit. The length of wire running from the converter box to the battery and brake controller was more than enough. Directions were more of any overview and I had to search for Toyota Service Manual instructions to get specifics for removing trim panels, locating the 10-pin towing connector, and running wires through the firewall (follow the hood release cable that runs between the frame and fender liner). Took longer than expected, but got it to work.
This harness, paired with a Tekonsha P3 went in flawlessly to a 2018 Toyota Highlander while following the videos provided on eTrailer’s pages. Very pleased and I’m fully set up with a functioning 7-pin system to pull and control a 2018 Airstream 16RB Bambi. Paired with a Blue Ox WDH. Thank you for providing such great products at great prices.
My mechanic said he called the tech support several times to get a hold of somebody and took almost all day to get the answers. Also the wire harness for the 7 pin was not long enough to install next to the hitch it was about a foot short. Beside that everything work great
Easy install, great product, I have been towing up to 4500lbs a few times a week.
I was moving in 10 days and got the tracking number the very next day and got the package within the 3 days it said I got the 3 to 5-day shipping and I am very satisfied with the ordering and shipping of the items.
This is a great product. etrailer did the installation. It turned out great. I definitely recommend the product.
I have received the items I ordered from etrailer and expect to have them installed and used for the first time on 10/21. I can review them after 10/21. I was impressed with how fast my order arrived.
Way too complicated and oversold what was needed.
arrived this morning! everything looks to be here. Thanks for shipping so quickly!
will let you know how installation goes.
Video instructions were a big help
I looked at my order status and it said that it wouldn’t be delivered for 2 to 3 months. I called and they fixed my order and found similar products For the same price that could ship immediately. They were great on the phone and my order arrived a day earlier than I was told. Excellent phone customer service and the product arrived undamaged. Thank you very much!
This product is not made specific for a Highland . Wires are too short .
Works

That does sound confusing! Some things to look out for are that of the red wires, you will want to choose the one of the single wire that is larger in thickness. Circuit testers, part # PTW2993 would be ideal to use to test to make sure you have the correct wire before splicing into it. You can have a friend put the car in reverse and test the wires for the signal to make sure you have the right one. Also, something to keep in mind is that the wiring harness will work without this red wire being installed because many trailers do not need the reverse function. If you watch the 2018 Toyota Highlander install video, you may want to start and the eight minute mark, and you may find it helpful as a visual guide. I hope this helps!
