Video Transcript for Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring - 20140 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna take a look at the Tow Ready Seven Foot Long Fifth Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness with the Hardwire Pigtails for Six Way or Seven Way Trailer Connector. Now this seven foot long wiring harness extension with the pigtail end gives you choice of hard wiring a six or seven way connector to your truck bed. It is designed to work with many vehicles, the Dodge, Ford, GM, Nissan, and Toyota trucks that have the factory tow package and the seven way at the rear. The socket end right here was what will plug into the standard factory connector and OEM inaudible 00:00:30 wiring harness at the rear of the vehicle and that's to provide a six way or seven way trailer connector in your truck bed for use with connecting a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer.Basically, it's very easy to install. All you need to do is go to the rear of the vehicle where the factory tow package is, and the seven way, you unplug the hot wiring harness from the seven way. Then you this end, plug this into the harness. Plug this end into the seven way, and then run this length of wire up to your truck bed, and then connect your appropriate connector for you application. Now the connector that you need will be sold separately.

We do list them on our website. The nice thing is when you do plug this in, it will retain the use of that factory connector at the rear of the vehicle. This part will include everything here, shown here, on the table. The harness itself, some cable ties to take up any slack of the wiring, and a nice set of detailed instructions with pictures on how to install everything. Now the wire size on this, the black, white, and blue wire is a ten-gauge size and the remaining four wires, brown, green, red, and yellow are 14-gauge seize. That should do it for the review on the Tow Ready Seven Foot Long Fifth Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness with the Hardwire Pigtail for Six Way or Seven Way Trailer Connector..

  • Fifth Wheel Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500
It sounds like you are looking for a 5th wheel/gooseneck trailer wiring setup that will give you a 7-way in the bed of your 2011 GMC Sierra 1500. The part # 20140 will work for that, but the part # 41157 would be a better choice as it comes with a 7-way and costs less. This will install inline with the 7-way you have at the rear of your truck and will allow you to install a second one in the bed. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Gooseneck In-Bed Wiring Harness On 2016 Nissan Titan XD
If the 2016 Titan has a 7-way connector at the rear of the vehicle there is an easy way to add the in-bed wiring. I recommend the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness, part # 41157. This plugs into the wiring at the back of your 7-way and retains your 7-way by the bumper. You then just route the wiring to the location in the bed where you want to install it, use a hole saw to make the mounting hole and that's it. I have attached a link to an installation video...

  • Adding 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Trailer Wiring in the Bed of a 2015 Ford F-350 with 4-Way Flat Connector
To determine if you will be able to use the 5th Wheel adapter harness # 20140 you will need to follow the factory 4-Way back to where it plugs into another harness. If the plugs are round and match the picture I have included then you could use this adapter and you would still have full functionality of the bumper mounted 4-Way. But if you used this item you would have to then hardwire the blunt cut wires to the back of a vehicle side 7-Way. So if you do have the round connectors that...

  • T-Connector Wiring Harness for a 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty to Add a 7-Way in Back and 6-Way in Bed
If the 6-Way that is in the box connected to the factory wiring harness you could use something like the 5th wheel adapter harness # 20140. This harness plugs in line with the factory harness and then the blunt cut end can be routed up to that connector in the truck bed and the wires attached to it.

  • Is Slime Dually Valve Extender Kit # SLM20140 Known to Cause Tire Balance Issues
The entire kit including packaging and both sides of the Slime Dually Valve Extender Kit # SLM20140 weighs .53 lbs. It is possible it could affect the balance but when you consider how heavy dually wheels are it's not likely you'd notice a change since these are relatively very lightweight. We've also sold quite a few of these and not had a customer report back a balance issue either.

I went to the warehouse and had the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20140 weighed at 9.5lbs, so while it ships at 10lbs each, packaging accounts for about a half pound of weight. Included is an overview video for more information.

The Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20140 is an excellent option for your Escapade motorcycle trailer as it is the same size, has the same 4 on 4" bolt pattern, and it does have a 2-1/2" backspacing as this wheel has a zero offset. Attached is a review video that you can check out.

  • AMP Rating for Bulldog Winch Power Leads
I contacted the manufacturer regarding your question about the AMP rating for the Bulldog Winch Power Leads, Power, and Ground for Truck Winch # BDW20140. While they did not provide me with an actual rating, they did say that 500 AMPs was a ton but if it was for short periods of time it would likely be ok.

  • Installing 7-way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller on 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood
We do indeed have an adapter that will convert a 4 or a 5-pole connector to a 7-way, part # 37185. However, your travel trailer will likely have electric brakes, and to actuate them you'll need to install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Primus, part # TK90160. To install the controller, we offer an installation kit, part # ETBC7. The kit incudes everything needed to install a controller, including the 37185 adapter I mentioned above. I'll link you to the instructions for the install...

  • Trailer Rims That Fit with Tire Size 4.80-12
Yes we have wheels that fit the tire size 4.80-12. If you have a 5 lug pattern you'd want the part # AM20151 or if you have a 4 lug pattern # AM20140.

  • Can Fog Lamps Used as Reverse Lights We Wired to 7-way Trailer Connector of 2020 Ram 1500
If you were wanting to power the fog/reverse lamps using a plug like # 54-67-525, you'd simply attach the ground wire from the lamp to the plug's white wire and the lamp power wire to the yellow wire on the plug. The lamp would power up with the reverse lamps, and none of the other connections on the plug would be needed. If you wanted a cleaner-looking solution that would leave the 7-way at the bumper free and not have the plug powering your fog lamps visible, I'd go with a T-Connector...

  • Can I Mount a 5.30 x 12 Tire on a 12" x 4" Rim?
Yes, you can mount a 5.30x12 tire on the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel item # AM20140. This wheel has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern. If you need the more common 5 on 4-1/2 lug pattern you will want the Dexstar item # AM20151.

  • Recommended Trailer Wheels/Tires with 4 Bolt Pattern and higher than 65 MPH Speed Rating
The Taskmaster 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire - Load Range C Item # TTWSF48012C should be a good option for you as it has an 81 mph speed rating, 4 on 4" bolt pattern, and 990 lb (per side) weight capacity. I am not sure what size tire you have now but since there are no fenders the overall diameter will not matter. However, you will need to make sure you have adequate frame clearance for the 4.75" section width of the above tire. This tire does not come mounted on a wheel. We don't have any...

  • Best Spare Tire Valve Extension for Jeep Wrangler JK Spare Tire with Cover
I have a solution for you, and the Slime Dually Valve Extender Kit # SLM20140 is definitely going to be flexible enough to use on a Jeep Wrangler's covered spare tire since it is a rubber hose. However, since it's only 8-1/2" long, I don't think it's going to be long enough to stick out behind the rear of the tire and allow you access to the extended valve stem very easily-especially if you have larger tires than the stock tires that normally come on the JK. For that reason, I recommend...

  • Smallest Trailer Tire Size with 81 mph Speed Rating
To get to the higher speed rating for a trailer tire you have to go to the 12 inch size. We currently sell the Taskmaster 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire - Load Range # TTWSF48012C. This is a tire only. You could then choose a wheel like the 12 inch Dexstar Mini Mod # AM20140 with a 4 on 4 inch lug pattern. You could have these mounted at a local shop. Overall this will be 4.4 inches taller than what you currently have.

  • Recommended Tire for Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel with 13
The tire size you reference, size 5.30 x 12, is compatible with a 12" x 4" rim. The wheel I recommend is Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel, # AM20151, as long as your trailer uses wheels with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, I have included a FAQ article on determining your wheel's bolt pattern. If you find you have a 4 on 4 bolt pattern you can go with # AM20140. The rim you referenced, # AM20253, is 13" x 4-1/2". I have included a couple of FAQ articles on tires for you to check out too.

  • Installing Alternate Wider Wheels/Tires for Older Jayco Pop-Up Camper Trailer
First, you do not want to run your camper's tires under-inflated. Trailer tires, all of them, are designed to be operated at their full rated pressure as indicated on the side wall. Under-inflation will lead to heat build-up and stress in the sidewalls and could lead to damage or failure. I do realize your intent to gain a wider footprint through a more flexible tire surface, but this is not recommended for safety reasons. Please take a look at the linked article on trailer tire sizes....

  • How to Access Brake-Only Lighting Signal 2018 GMC Canyon for 3rd Brake Light Installation
In order to add a 3rd brake-only light to your truck cap you will use a tail light converter to separate out the brake signal from the combined brake/turn signal circuits on your Canyon. If the truck does NOT have LED tail lights use part # 118158 or part # C56196. These converters connect to the left and right combined stop/turn circuit wires (yellow and green, respectively). The red wire on the converter's output side delivers a brake-only lighting signal you can use for your 3rd brake...

  • Replacement Tire And Wheel Options For 12 Ft Pop-Up Camper
Radial tires would work well on the highway. A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear. A bias ply tire has a stiffer sidewall than a radial, a feature that might be useful for off road applications like farm use. We offer 12 inch radial tire/wheel combos that would work for you. You will need to know the bolt pattern to make sure you get the correct combos. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to measure...

  • Adding In-Bed 5th Wheel Trailer Wiring on a 2005 Ford F-150 with Factory 4-Way
On your 2005 Ford F-150 with the 4-Way trailer wiring harness, if the harness is from the factory it will be fairly easy to add in-bed 5th wheel trailer wiring. Here is what you need to do. First, follow the factory 4-Way wiring forward on the under side of the truck until you find the connector it plugs into. The forward side of this connection point has more wires running into it then go out to the 4-Way. Using a circuit tester like # 3808, find the functions of each of the wires on...

  • Looking for 81MPH Speed Rated Tire to Replace 5.70-8 Tire
The Kenda # AM30080 carries a 65 mph speed rating, the same as all the 5.70-8 size tires we carry. You won't find an M (81mph) rated tire until you go up to a 12 inch tire like a 5.30-12 # TTWSF53012C which is 3-1/2 inches larger in diameter which would move the tire 1-3/4 inches closer to the underside of the fender or wheel well. Measure your current wheel well clearance, and subtract 1-3/4 inches. If this leaves 3-4 inches of wheel well/fender clearance you should be okay. For a compatible...

Since we don't have the # TT53012C mounted on a wheel with a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern you'd need to also get a 4 lug wheel so you could have it mounted locally like with the part # AM20124 for a galvanized wheel or part # AM20140 for a white wheel.
