This hitch receiver did not work for me. I tried to use it with my Chevy Tahoe and pop-up camper (GVWR 2350 lbs). While towing, I felt a significant jerky motion. I ended up bringing my setup into a professional trailer/hitch company and they said this Patriot Hitch was much to "loose" with the 4 pins. They had to sell me a totally different hitch system to fix my problem. I asked etrailer if I could return this item since it did not work for me, but they would not accept the return because it was used. I used it once to try it, and it didn't work. I wish etrailer would stand behind their products. I will definitely think twice before shopping with etrailer again.
I purchased a lifted 2020 Jeep Gladiator equipped with aftermarket JCR bumpers. The challenge was towing my boats. The Patriot hitch with solid steel shaft provided the basis for a solution. The JCR bumper has a hidden hitch receiver up against the spare tire in such a way to preclude the use of the standard hitch pin hole. To solve the problem of the receiver hidden behind the license plate I mounted the upper portion of the hitch upside down. M&G Trailer of MN solved the pin hole problem by drilling a 2nd pin hole in the solid steel shaft. This pin hole is inside the bumper just behind the spare. I installed the lower portion of the hitch to provide the maximum drop needed to align with the boat trailer. The result has proven effective with no distortion in the bumper or the hitch.
The dropper hitch has been working well for towing my Jeep Wrangler 4xe behind my RV. Love the built in anti-rattle! A little rust at the points it makes contact between the pieces.
The product seems well made, and it was shipped/ received from Etrailer very promptly as usual. But it was missing one of the two anti vibration screws, was packed in a UPS box inside an overpack box ( no bag or padding - brave with UPS!) , and the cotter pins painted red look good- but two out of the 3 were painted closed. Certainly not huge deals- but enough to keep it from being truly "excellent". It'll get 3000 miles and 6 states of use in the next 90 days- THAT will be the test!
This is a very high quality drop hitch. I am very happy with it. Now I have to lift my mountain bike 20 inches onto the rack instead of 30 inches.
Heavy duty, simple to adjust, reasonable price.

Heavy, but bulletproof. Allows me to to my golf cart trailer with my Class A motorhome. Would recommend.
The hitch was exactly what we needed to be able to access our luggage area with the bikes on our rack. It gave us the clearance we needed

Drop hitch that I ordered came as advertised. It's a very high quality piece. Delivery was even faster than promised. I couldn't be happier.
Looks well made and has good adjustment.Only gave it 4 stars because it bent slightly after a couple of uses. Still works good but looks a little cock eyed.
Great website navigation, information, pricing and tech support when needed. If I could ask for one thing it would be to have a veterans discount.

A year later and paint is still in place - no rust. Outstanding products.
The plastic plug inserted is extremely difficult to remove. Did not arrive as the photo depicts.
Common sense is far better than the useless instructions.

Has the adaptability I was looking for. Use it for utility trailer. Also use for garbage transport down long driveway by taking advantage of vehicle air ride suspension system.
It may be overkill, but it gets my Thule bike rack at a workable level when I am not towing my small toy hauler trailer. The bike rack's ramp is now at a level where the its incline works for my heavy electric bike. I was having to lift it into place at the truck's hitch receiver's height.

very well manufactures, clean good welds, good paint and finish, and all the pins needed for use, i use it on my tractor bucket to quickly move trailers arounf the property

Great! It lowers my bike rack a foot.
Bought one a year ago. Pulled my race trailer to Calif, Florida several times. A year later this drop hitch is still in new condition. This hitch is remarkable. Well built, strong..very strong, easy to adjust when needed and I highly recommend it, takes up far less space then having a shelf full of various sized ball hitches.

2 years with this hitch and it is still like new. Still works like new and still use it to tow a race trailer. So easy to adjust height.

Yeah, unfortunately, we cannot accept used items as a return. With used product, there's a chance that the product will have small damages that can cause either safety concerns or cosmetic issues. This can lead to concerns with future neighbors receiving an item that is less than satisfactory for what they purchased. Due to this, we are only able to receive unused and brand new product as a return. Even with new and unused product returns, you have to keep in mind that there would be a specific percentage of the refund that would be taken out for a restocking fee, so you wouldn't get exactly what you paid for it back from us anyway. I generally suggest that you should try selling it locally or online elsewhere for what you purchased it at. Since it was only used once and looks to be in good condition still, you should be able to sell it for what you paid. As for the adapter, Patriot Hitch is a newer product, with not as much field use as some other brands. I have sent this critical feedback over to them to look into more. I am thinking that it is possible that it could be some sort of issue with the weight difference between the rating on the adapter and your GVWR that could be causing the "jerky motions". However, for the "loose" pins, you have to keep in mind that when it comes to adapters, especially those with an adjustable rise and drop, there is bound to be some "play" while in use.
