I drive a '21 Ford expedition. The bike rack sat too high, making it difficult for us to load the bikes. The hitch is very wobbly even after adding shims. Also very difficult to install. I plan to return the hitch.

Only flaw,the anti-rattle screw on the lower part of the hitch does not screw through.
I feel like this hitch will last longer than my truck. There will be nothing left but 4 tires and this hitch,sitting in a pile of rust.

Hitch is solid as ever, well made. After using it for a year I still hold firm on my original review!
Bought for lifted truck to tow boat, to be used in conjunction with extended hitch. No tires in the water! Just received and seems to be of great quality. Can’t wait to try.

Product works as advertised. Still like new, but don’t leave in hitch when not used. Adjustability is a great feature
The drop hitch made it possible to adjust the ball height for different equipment towed from flat towing a jeep with 35” tires and 4” lift to a RZR trailer. The drop hitch is heavy duty with tightening screws to eliminate shutter/flex of the connecting parts of the drop hitch for increase stability and safety while towing.
Adjustment is easy with the numerous pin positions enabling lowering or raising the ball height.
This is a very adaptable hitch, as you can see from the photo. My problem was how to hitch a very low level vintage Burro camper to a high Jeep Cherokee and have enough room to remove the wheel that is used to hand-push the trailer into the garage, after the trailer and camper are coupled together. The ability to adjust the height of the drop allowed me to accomplish both tasks: hitch the Burro to the Jeep and to gain enough room by using a jack under the trailer tongue to move a very close-to-the ground wheel. I'd recommend this hitch for those old vintage trailers with low trailer tongues and hitches that need to go higher to fit off-road vehicles that give a lot of clearance.

My original assessment of this trailer hitch stands. Its toughand gives you the ajustable clearance needed.
Satisfied with the drop hitch- allows the hitch to be level with tow vehicle for optimum braking and ground clearance.

hitch work well, on a recent trip to Colorado, I sheared a receiver pin aftermarket pin, luckily was able to pull off at rest area, replace pin with Patriot hardened pin - no issues since replacement I will be purchasing spare hardened pins from Patriot
Still going strong after 1 year of having it. We use it to put my moms motorized scooter in it and it has worked great. Only wish that the sides were taller. I’m always weary that when I turn a corner it’s going to go tumbling out! But that hasn’t affected the sturdiness or anything like that. Just a personal preference. I would definitely purchase another one if needed.

This thing is BAD ASS the whole Patriot line is awesome it answers any and all problems
So far so good. I don't need to tow anything, I just wanted to drop my bike rack a bit to make it easier to get my bike on and off. Kind of overengineered for that use but that OK. As long as it holds up to the weather. I'm sure it will be fine.
The receiver was exactly what was needed to lower the bike rack, which makes it easier to add and remove bikes.

I needed to lower my e-bike rack mounted to a receiver on the front of the truck for better visibility. After searching the big box stores and finding nothing that would drop it about a foot I searched online and found eTrailer and its selection of Patriot adjustable hitches = perfect! The hitch arrived in a few days = impressive! Since it is winter here in Billings I will not mount the drop hitch until spring but am positive that it will do the job to my complete satisfaction. At this point I can only rate the customer service. We bought the hitch in anticipation of a truck purchase. That purchase opportunity dissolved so we don’t need the hitch.
The ordering process was easy and delivery occurred as promised. The truck purchase fell apart even before I opened the shipping box. It arrived intact and I’m sure would have been just what we needed.
The return process was very easy and the customer service very friendly. I will use this company in the future with no reservations.

When you think about this product you have to wonder how it can handle the serious load with an 11" drop or rise on this adapter. The way it will redistribute and hold the entire weight seems illogical. When you are towing confidence is required. This main receiver piece is solid steel (not tube). It weighs a lot because it takes the weight off your mind. Very nice equipment. A little paint every few years and this hardware will be a family heirloom. Thanks etrailer.
Perfect solution for lowering a front mounted bike rack. At the lowest setting I’ve still got 6” inches of clearance with flexibility to raise the unit when I go off-road. The Patriot drop hitch is as solid as a rock.

Great product good fit. Just what I needed to tow my jeep Wrangler.
Used this to lower a motorcycle carrier on the back of my pickup. Easier to load up the bike with less steep of an angle on the ramp. Drove about 2000 miles holding up about 600 lbs hanging off the back of my truck. No problems.
Received the adjustable receiver and was impressed with the quality. Needed something to make carrying our electric scooters, and this fits the bill perfectly. Cannot wait for our next weekend outing!

Hey Phyllis, I am sure you are doing this but I wanted to make sure you are tightening that anti-rattle bolt on the receiver portion of this part?
