Jake: Hey guys, it's Jake here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to use the CargoSmart Fire Extinguisher Holder for E-Track and X-Track. This is going to be able to get your fire extinguisher up off the ground and into a safe place so that everyone knows where it's at, at all times. This bracket is going to work great for those trailer applications like we have here, or in your home. You just want to make sure that you have three slots, whether it be X-Track or E-Track, to put this in. It will utilize two on these outside brackets and then the one with the clip on the inside. Let's go ahead and show you over here on this E-Track, it's not going to work with these vertical E-Tracks, you're going to have to have the horizontal E-Track.So with the use of these two cam buckle straps, when you're ready to use it, you just grab the cam buckle strap and you can pull it off and you're ready to use it.
You are going to be able to use this with a fire extinguisher that is up to eight inches in diameter, and you are going to have a 50 pound weight capacity, but you do want to keep in mind that it's only going to be as strong as the E-Track or X-Track that it's mounted to. So you do want to be sure when you're mounting your E-Track or X-Track that you're mounting it in the studs, whether it be in your trailer or in your garage. With this fire extinguisher holder, you want to make sure that you have a fire extinguisher that's at least 16 inches tall on the tank so that that top strap has more than enough grip on the tank itself to properly support it. Now, when it comes to putting a fire extinguisher in your trailer, I would not recommend putting more than a six inch diameter fire extinguisher when something's going to be mobile because you want to make sure you have more than enough strap to really tighten down on that fire extinguisher so that you know it's not going to go anywhere. It's going to have a yellow zinc coating on our steel construction here. It's going to have our nice toe-strap style straps to strap the fire extinguisher in, so they're going to be plenty sturdy to be able to hold it in. Now the one thing I wish they would have added to this is an extra rubber foot on the bottom, on the back side of it to support it against the wall because you can see here it does have a little bit of movement before it hits the wall, so that would have just stopped it from moving hardly at all.
But, with that being said, it's still going to be plenty sturdy when traveling down the road.In order to get it in place, just take it, hold it by the bottom, pull your little tab back here, slide it into your E-Track or X-Track. You have to pull up a little bit in order to get it in, then you just push down until it clicks into place. Let's go ahead and get our fire extinguisher in place, I'll show you how easy it is. Take our strap and around. It's going to use a cam buckle strap on the front, take that and just tighten it down.
We'll get our bottom one in place. Make sure you don't get that hose behind the strap so that it's making contact with the tank. Now with it all strapped down, you're ready to go.

This holder lets you secure your fire extinguisher to the E-track or X-track in your enclosed trailer or workshop. Simply set your fire extinguisher on the platform and use the cinch straps to secure it to the holder. The product works as should I read the reviews watched video and got measurements from there to verify fit. Box it was shipped in was totally destroyed luckily no parts were missing. If your going to ship a damaged box, rebox it, if you didn’t send it this way stop using usps they are incompetent and slow to deliver items.
Did not fit my e-track system. When comparing it to my current e-track attachments the dimensions were off
We've finally been able to install the etrack in our trailer and it looks, and works, great. I've attached a few pictures we took of the installation.
Shakes around too much. Very loose, not stable. Unable to use for our team
takes a larger Fire Extinguisher
Not really happy with this, but it does the job. The provisions in the brackets for the E-Track are oversized which creates a loose fit allowing it to move around when empty and rattle. The nuts provised are weak and one snapped while hand tightening. Over all a cheap product with room to desire much more. I modified my to be more secure.
GREAT SERVICE!
Overall, I'd give this a 3. It isn't really because the design is bad, it's more a me thing and using it slightly as unintended . I installed this on a side panel of a cabinet, and therefore did not use the e-track portion of the support. As a result the fire extinguisher liked to rock around in the tethers and at times became un-connected, and would almost fall. I think the design overall makes sense, however striking a balance between rapid removal in case of fire and also keeping the fire extinguisher in place seems to be tricky for this product - especially when it comes to the 'grabiness' of the fire extinguisher tethers.
It’s a great fit for my trailer and looks good too.
The strap is too short and it is “slippery” so it won’t stay tight in the buckle. The extinguisher has come loose several times.
The product quality appears to be a 4 or 5. The description is a 1.
I asked if this was strong enough for vehicle use. I was told it was--see Q&A below.
What I wasn't told is that it won't fit a Ford F150. The Track mounting point is too high to mate with Ford's X-Track mounting bracket. The CargoSmart name is deceiving--the photo shows it in a shop.
The description says it can hold fire extinguishers up to 8" in diameter. What it doesn't say is that it won't hold 5lb extinguishers. They're not tall enough to reach the top strap.
By drilling all new holes in the backbone and shortening it, I think I can make this work. But the description needs improved. It's not soft steel so drilling and cutting might not be easy...
Here's the dimensions.
The backbone is approx: 17-5/8 tall
The snap is approx: 17-7/8
The top snap is approx: 13" - 14-½ above the baseplate
The "strapable" body of most 5lb extinguishers is roughly 11' above the base
Ford's X-Track system is only one slot--this is made for three! I knew this from the listing--I plan to cover the two outer with rubber hose to make a tight fit and prevent scratching the bed. I need to disassemble the holder to see how that will work.
Everything arrived as ordered. What was nice, setting etrailer.com apart was the wonderful packing of their products. The ordered products arrived well anchored in a large, easy to handle box that actually had handles cut into the cardboard box for easy handling. They had built supports in the box to keep the various products safe and delivered as new. I would definitely order from them again.
Love that they are for the E-track and they work great. etrailer.com was the only place i've seen them.
Just received it
So far so good
The bracket work well, I have replaced the the straps with a a heavier set.
Arrived quickly, these hooks are bigger than they appear on the website, they will work perfectly in my installation trailer for hanging tools
Works well, well built but bigger than I had pictured when I bought it
