Note: Tie-down straps and their accessories must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this etrailer 12 foot long E-track wheel tie down strap with the roller idler and the ratchet, has a 1,333 pound working load limit. Now this E-track tire strap with the roller idler right here will let you secure a vehicle to your trailer. It does use the spring loaded fittings on the strap and the roller to clip into the E-track slots. You can see there's a clip here one here on the roller idler, and then one over on this end. Now I am demonstrating it on a piece of E-track, which is not included.
We do sell that separately. And of course, the tire and wheels not included. This is just a review on the tie down strap itself but the ratcheting tire strap, let me just zoom in here. This will come with the roller idler we mentioned which allows you to move the ratchet away from the vehicle. So it's a lot easier to tighten down the strap.
In a lot of cases, if you don't have this idler, your strap's gotta be right up here, and when you're trying to tighten it, it's hard to get to. So what this does, this roller idler positions at the base of the tire you can see to serve as a third anchor point for the strap, keeps the tension on the strap. And then you have your ratchet right back here to be able to easy access to the ratchet handle and your ratchet handle right here, you can see. You just tighten this and try to get it as tight as you can to hold everything in place. And once you get it tight enough, then just lift up on this release lever here and put it all the way down flat.
And when you do that, it'll engage this lock and it locks it in place, keeps the ratchet handle from ratcheting. And then once you're ready to remove it you just pull up on that release lever and you can see if you rotate it 180 degrees and go all the way to, you can see how it released it. And now it allows the strap to free wheel so you can pull out as much strap as you need. Very easy to operate. Now also, one other thing I wanted to mention.
Let me go ahead and just tighten this back. There we go. And we'll go ahead and put it into the lock position and you're ready to go. Now it does include on this strap there's these three rubber pads right here. And what's nice with that is they have raised rubber grips on 'em. If I zoom in on that you'll be able to see, see these raised. There's two on the outside. And then if you flip it over on the underside, there's two. And what that does, it allows this rubber pad keeps the strap around the tire. Those inserts, those grips on that rubber pad will insert into the tread grooves of the tire and it holds the strap in place. Also, if you notice along the strap they have these little extra pieces of strap added to there. And what that does, it keeps the pads in place so the pads don't move all together. Those little extra pieces along this strap will keep 'em separated. Now, the ratchet strap we mentioned this will secure the tire in place. It's a very sturdy ratchet helps you achieve and maintain maximum tension on the strap, we mention the release lever that'll disengage when you're ready to unload to free wheel it, and then we can engage it in the safety lock when you're all ready to go. The webbing on this is a two inch wide polyester webbing which is like a, it's made of a seatbelt material. It is abrasion resistant. The roller idler right down here, it is a zinc coating on it and also on the ratchet, which makes them rust resistant. Now a few specs on this. The application for this, this'll work on horizontal or vertical E-track, and X-track. It is for a quantity of one rapid ratchet strap with the roller idler. Strap dimension, two inches wide 12 feet in length. Now the maximum load or brake strength on this strap is 4,000 pounds. But what's more important is the safe working load limit which will be a third of that. So 1,333 pounds. And the safe working load limit is what you wanna pay attention to 'cause basically what that does is the tie down straps and their accessories will be chosen according to that safe working load limit meaning the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps that are being used. So for example, if you're using straps that have a working load limit of 500 pounds each, to tie down a load that weighs 1,000 pounds, then you're gonna need at least two straps to safely secure that load. And it is recommended that you always use straps in pairs. Now this part number here is just for one of the straps. We also sell this in a quantity of two straps. That's part number E64PR, or you can even get it with two straps and a nice storage bag. And that's part number E62NR. Both of those items are shown on this product page as a related product. But that's gonna do it for the review on this etrailer 12 foot long E-track wheel tie down strap with the roller idler and the ratchet.

Very well as advertised. Impressed.
The straps worked exceptionally well and were easy to use.
These straps make strapping the car down by yourself very easy. No more crawling under the car to do so. First time I used them it took me about 10 minutes in an enclosed trailer to have the car completely secure. Highly recommend getting these.
Very nice product. The spacing/locations of the black sleeves on the tire straps that interact with the tire treads were too far apart to effectively catch a 15 inch auto tire properly. I did find a work-around by slipping the two outer black sleeves past the doubled sew layer, and inward farther on the tire strap. Nice heavy duty ratchet. The roller idler is a very nice addition to a heavy wear-point on the straps.
The E track and tie down straps work great to secure our JD Gator in the enclosed trailer for our Fire Department
Great product. I use it for anchoring rear tire on Can Am Spyder in trailer. Couldn’t ask for any better for the job. Also etrailer always provides great service and follow up.
Great product
