Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Erickson 120 volt AC trailer winch with the wire rope, the Hawse fairlead, and a 1,500 pound rated line pull. Now this trailer winch is designed for standard duty work applications, it's designed for efficient loading of a vehicle onto a trailer, and it is recommended for vehicles that have a maximum gross vehicle weight of 1,500 pounds. It does use a 1.2 horsepower permanent magnet motor, delivers powerful, fast and safe line pulling. A motor is lighter, uses less current than a series one motor, and the motor is sealed to keep out water, prevent internal corrosion. The cord with the plug here, it's a standard three pin, 120 volt AC extension cord, it's your plug-in for power.
And the brake on this, they use an automatic mechanical brake that'll hold 100% of the load while minimizing winch creep. Does use an all steel one-stage planetary gear that has a 262:1 ratio and a wired remote. I need to show you this wired remote right here, comes with a nine-foot cord, and this will let you operate from a safe distance. On this side here, it has a pole and turn clutch to ensure a fast rope payout and reduce wear on the motor. You just pull on this and turn it to release the clutch.
It does have a 5/32 diameter zinc plated wire rope, which is strong and abrasion resistant. The wire rope is 35 feet in length and it is an aircraft grade galvanized steel cable. Has 1/4 inch, right over here, steel clevis hook attached to it, and a nice nylon hand saver strap is included. Now the mounting plate that we have it attached to and the hardware is all included for the winch and for the Hawse fairlead. Does have a nice durable black powder coat steel body, and a motor resist to help corrosion.
The rated line pull on this with a single layer of wire rope around the drum is 1,500 pounds static load. The motor, as we mentioned, it's 120 volt AC power. The line pull at zero pounds. The power draw is 1.8 amps. The line speed is 34 1/2 feet per minute.
Now the line pull at 1,500 pounds, the power draw is gonna be 8.8 amps, and a line speed of 13 3/4 foot per feet per minute. The duty cycle on this is 5%, which means you use it for about 45 seconds, rested for about 15 minutes. Dimension on this, it's about 15 1/2 inches long, 5 1/2 inches wide, about five inches tall, and the weight on it with the wire rope installed is only about 23, just under 24 pounds. But that should do it for the review on this Erickson 120 volt AC trailer winch with the wire rope and the Hawse fairlead and a 1,500 pound rated line pull.
