Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this Ratchet and Crimper Set. This set is going to include these ratcheting crimpers. These are very easy to use. They've got that built-in ratcheting function to them.
With one hand, you can simply continue to crimp down tighter and tighter, so you get all the way through that ratcheting set. And then, by squeezing it a little bit past, it'll open back up, so you got the option to easily crimp down your connectors onto your cable to make sure that it's going to have a nice firm connection. If you start crimping them down and you realize you need to reset something, there is this little tab here in the middle that you can push up on, that will release it as well. That is kind of harder to get to once you have it past a certain point. Then, you'll probably just have to go ahead and crimp all the way down to the finish point. You can see here at the top, we've got three different colors to indicate the size to be used.
Obviously, the yellow is the largest, blue is the middle one and then red is the smallest. That will correspond with our connectors here. Our red connectors, we're going to have a total of 150 pieces of connectors. Our red ones are for our 22 to 16 gauge wire. We're going to have three different sizes of ring terminals.
We're going to have two different fork connectors, as well as male and female tab connectors and butt connectors with our blue. Those are for the 16 gauge up to 14 gauge wires. We're going to have three different ring terminal sizes here, as well as one fork connector option and male and female tabs, as well as our butt connectors. And then for our yellow, which is going to be our 12 gauge up to 10 gauge, we're going to get two different sizes of ring terminals and those butt connectors there.Obviously, all of these will work with our crimper set and they do all come in this case. It's very easy to get sealed up, so we don't have to worry about our connectors getting mixed up or falling out of place.
They'll all be there when we open it back up. Everything is going to stay nice and organized, ready for us to use whenever we need to.Overall, I think this is a good option. These crimpers, they're definitely heavy duty. They feel very secure. I think they're going to do a good job of crimping. Some of the conversations I've seen people talking about these, they're a little bit disappointed in that these just kind of crush the connection point down. It doesn't necessarily give you the most secure connection for your crimpers. It's not punching a hole to provide that connection point. It's just kind of squeezing it into place, but I think that's a pretty common feature of most crimpers. Not a specialty brand or anything like that. I think it'll do a good job for you, just making sure that you get the connectors nice and tight and down on the wire that you're trying to connect to.If you are looking for a nice set for your wiring connections, I'd say this is going to give you just about everything that you need. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
