Video Transcript for Review of the Wire Frame Clip

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 464600 this is the wire frame clip. This clip is made of spring steel with a black enamel finish that's going to be used to secure one or more wires to the frame or panel surface of your trailer. You can see right here I have it on piece of angle iron. The piece of iron that I'm using today is going to be a little bit thinner than probably what your trailer frame's made of so it doesn't provide as tight of a fit. This is spring steel, so it's going to fit a variety of widths of trailer frames or panel surfaces and a very versatile clip. It's going to get the job done.

These are going to be designed to hold your wires up and out of the way making sure they don't dangle loose. It's going to help take out any slack in your wiring keeping them up and out of the way, safe and secure from any type of damage or harm. Very simple installation. The overall length is about one and five-eighths of an inch. The width from edge to edge is going to measure about a half inch and then the wire width capacity measuring from inside edge to inside edge is going to measure about three-eights of an inch. I have some 16 gauge bonded wire.

This is going to be wiring for a standard 4-way flat connector. Simply going to place it in there. The clip's going to feature a couple teeth on it. That's really going to help it dig into and hold its place on the trailer frame or panel surface. Once you have your wiring in there, simply just place the clip over the frame and you can see there it gives us plenty of room for our wiring to move.

Albeit it's still going to hold it in place so we don't have to worry about it dangling or very much slack in our wiring, it really cleans up our installation. That's going to do it for our review of part number 464600. This is the wire frame clip. .

They are just what I needed. Tried twice with Amazon with no luck. Always best to go with the pros.

by:

I did an online search for trailer supplies to rework my wiring harness on my trailer. Found etrailer and the online catalog was easy to navigate, the item descriptions were very specific and the prices were reasonable.
The user friendliness of the online catalog made it easy to order parts; no guesswork!!!

The clips are still attached to the trailer and the harness is still in place. No problems with the product!

by:

I haven't used them yet, but they look like they'll do the trick. They're bigger than they look in the photo--and the catalog photo shows the wires on the wrong side (the short side). The wires should be routed under the curved portion on the long side--otherwise the wires could move to the edge of the trailer frame and be pinched. They also look to be a rust magnet, so I'll paint them before installing them.

Theyre working out wellin a bag in my garage. Theyre way too big for my fairly heavy duty trailer. I tried them and they are too big to snugly pinch the steel frame.

by:

Helped support the wiring where the original clips had rusted out. I had to tighten them up by squeezing them with pliers to work properly on the thin metal of my light duty trailer.

Everything is still working fine.

by:

worked great- my trailer has a very thick frame approx 1/4 and these clips worked great to hold the trailer wires intact.
Thank You for quick shipping and great product

The best pricing I ever found and shipping is very fast. Great Company to do business with. I plan to order more.

Two key takeaways here-
World class
customer service and great products!
I did a complete Electric over Hydraulic two axle disc brake setup on my Venture boat trailer. I was basically replacing everything including wiring and coupler. These folks gave excellent support at every turn. Some of the brake lines somehow didn’t make it into the packaging, they jumped through hoops to make it right. Love my new brake system, as I have complete confidence in stopping my boat now.

by:

Hi quality for a great price. Overhauled my Boat Trailer rollers, bearings, bunks, wiring and more. I usually shop parts like this on Ebay, Amazon...etc..
Etrailer beat all of their prices, and with free shipping on my $99+ order, the deal got even sweeter. Got my parts in 3 days and had the job done in the next 2 days. All parts fit perfectly and my trailer is like new.
This is my second order from etrailer. As we all know it's "always something" with anything marine related. They have earned my business. Thanks..!!

This doesn't happen all that often anymore when purchasing items online, but I actually received exactly what I was hoping to get. I have a custom made trailer for my 1959 Tollycraft and when re-wiring the tail lights of course all the wire clips broke. The wire clips that came with my wiring were too small for the thick frame of my trailer.

I found the exact type of clip I needed at etrailer at a very reasonable cost and they were delivered in a highly timely manner. I would suggest using etrailer to any of my friends or family.

by:

Exactly as described and a perfect fit. I used them better secure the corrugated plastic sheeting on the bottom of our travel trailer. These clips were used instead of screws to better seal the sheeting to the frame. I also ran some coax cable through the clips to my recently installed rear view camera. Perfect product for the application and appears to have a rust resistant finish.

by:

I could not find these wire frame clips in the local automotive stores nor automotive sections in department stores. Finally I stumbled into them on etrailer. They secure and protect the wire to the metal edge under the trailer. They are designed well providing a nice tight grip holding the wire in place. Shipping was fast. I have since gone through their website exploring their inventory and will order from them again based on my first experience.

by:

This trailer wire clip works great....it is very secure and does not pop loose....my wires are still secure and in place after over one year of bumping up and down in so many situations. This clip is not flimsy and is rock solid.....great price for what you get

by:

E trailer was quick and low priced. These are the only clips to use don't fool yourself thinking the clips with the light kit will hold. I bought extra to share with people at the boat ramp dragging their wiring out of the water. GET THESE CLIPS FROM E TRAILER.

by:

These clips are perfect. I have an Aluminum boat trailer and every clip I ordered was too small to fit. These are large wire clips and they fit great at a very low price.

Service was terrific from e-trailer. Quickly answered my questions and shipped very quickly. Highly recommend them for the personal attention I received.

by:

Clips were exactly what was needed to rewire flatbed after dump kit was installed. Good price, and received in time specified. Etrailer is great place to buy if you build or repair haulers!

by:

Had the product within a few days exactly like the factory parts tough and durable and inexpensive took care of the loose wiring on my trailer in a few minutes.

by:

Excellent product. Exactly what I needed to finish up my trailer. Clips fit tight and allow the wiring to fit snug w/out sagging. Highly recommend this product for wiring a trailer.

by:

I ran across these frame clips looking for something else. It was something I could really use in securing loose wires running almost the length of my vehicle(s) such as a 12 volt auxiliary wire or an electric brake wire. These are heavy duty, are well made and will last much longer than zip tying wires to the frame.

by:

The clips are good quality. However I choose not to use them on my boat trailer just because they will rust. I used plastic ty wrap supports. I did use these clips on one of my lowboy trailers.

by:

Needed a larger clip to hold a fully jacketed cable on an upgrade to my boat trailer. This clip is much heavier gauge steel than the standard clips an doesn't have sharp edges. Good product and good service from etrailer.

by:

try to find this at your local store. Not happening. Makes your trailer re-wire professional. Way better than zip tie or tape.

by:

Easy to useThese work well to keep wiring in place along a trailer frame. I would recommend running the wires in wire loom first for extra protection. If you use wire loom you will need to bend the clamp open a little but this is easy to do.

by:

I needed a larger clip for my boat trailer frame than what was offered at the local auto supply chains. These fit the bill. Great product. Highly recommended.

by:

It would be real nice if this information was put in the product description :
The height of this clip is 1-1/2 inches, width is 1/2 inch, width for wire capacity is 3/8 inch and the frame depth is 5/16 of an inch. Constructed of spring steel and has a black enamel finish.

These clips are useless for my boat trailer.

  • Wire Loom Clamp/Clip Recommendations for 4-Way Wiring.
Based on our customer reviews it looks like the Wire Frame Clip # CE16867A that you referenced has better reviews than the Wire Frame Clip # 464600. Either one should work fine, but if it were me I would go with the # CE16867A between those two. Another option is the Metal Loom Clamp # A0500. You will need to provide some self tapping screws but this is the loom clamp that our installers here at etrailer use the most. These clamps are rubber coated to protect the wires and since they screw...

  • Clips and Clamps to Attach Wires and Wiring Harnesses to the Bottom of a Trailer Frame
There are many ways you can secure wires to a trailer. I would not recommend the use of tape as it will wear out quickly when exposed to the elements. Soldering is also not recommended because it is a more permanent method and you may need to change wires or move them in the future the hot solder would also melt the coating on the wiring, causing a short. If you can find some large enough, wire ties could be a simple solution. We have several clamps and clips that could work for this application....
