This safety flag marks commercial vehicles carrying an oversize or wide load. The flag easily attaches to your load with a built-in bungee cord. The tips of the vinyl-coated hooks help prevent damage to your vehicle or gear. Polyester mesh construction allows wind to pass through the flag to ensure long-lasting durability and reusability.
Safety flags are required for a load that extends more than 4" beyond the sides or more than 4' beyond the rear. Only 1 flag is required if the load is 2' wide or less, and 2 flags are required if the load is wider than 2'.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Erickson Mesh Safety Flag with the included bungee cord. This safety flag indicates a vehicle is carrying an oversized or wide load to help prevent accidents. It also just increases overall safety. The flag easily attaches to your load with the build in bungee cord. These are metal hooks and they're going to have vinyl coated tips so that way they don't damage your vehicle or gear. The polyester mesh allows wind to pass through for long lasting durability. It does meet Department of Transportation specifications. It's fluorescent orange in color. When it comes to the dimensions of the flag it's going to measure 18" by 18".
The bungee cord measures round 2' long and it does have a nice flexible and stretchable design. That's going to do it for today's look at the Erickson Mesh Safety Flag with the built in bungee cord.

Product worked as advertised and as expected. See photos - the only way to haul 16' lumber in the 5 1/2 foot bed of an F150. My only complaint was the limited height adjustment. I have a Decked drawer storage system in the back of my truck so the cross bar was too low on its highest setting. As shown in the photos, I had to add an 8 inch riser to get up to the level of the bed. But it was easy and worked well with this new part. Be careful on steep driveways so that the hitch extension does not scrape. Good product - worth the cost.

I really liked how it attached to the trailer - and it did its job driving around town. However, I took it on the interstate once, and driving at 60mph shredded this thing to near uselessness in a single trip. Explored other options - and would pass on purchasing another one of these.

- Can a Load Extender be Used to Carry Kayaks Out of an SUVs HatchA load extender like the Malonel Extender, part # MPG907, isn't really intended to carry a load sticking out of the hatch of an SUV like that but it would work the same. This extender at its widest is 48 inches so you need to make sure this is enough space for both your kayaks. The extender has reflective tape on the back but there isn't a flag included. You can use part # EM05308. Then to lock and hold the extender to your hitch receiver I recommend an anti-rattle lock # 63232.
