Love that it doesn't get in the way of passengers when not in use and that I don't have to break it down or take it out between fishing trips.
This is great product and exactly what I was looking for.
I installed it on my father's van 2016 Honda Odyssey.
It had square grab handle holes, not regular one with the screws.
So I had to use the small square metal piece that go inside of the square holes to use the screws. (they are included)
I felt like those square metals were too small for the holes because they kept coming off.
Also I had to use the spacers because the beams were touching the a/c controls and vents. (spacers are included)
It is very easy to install, all you need is Philips head screw driver, took me about 30 -40 min to install and if I didn't have to use spacers, it would've taken less.
Great rack, once you get it mounted - which is a MAJOR PITA...
I really wish it had better designed mounting system, current system is extremely difficult to use.
I have been using it for a year and got an email from etrailer ask if I want to do a review - yes I do:
This is not a popular rack on the market, I’ve been specifically search this type, this one does a very good job for me.
I don’t carry much rods, 3 is enough. The way it holds the rod is very convenient for stop - fish - go and it doesn’t affect the cargo space. The design is simple and the quality is good.
Only thing is the little claw holds the rod tips tends to drop when driving on bumpy road, not a big issue, just keep an eye on it.
I’m actually considering to install a new one on the other side.
Install was kinda finicky. Works great though. Installed on a 2011 Subaru Forester. Longest pole is 7'1" and definitely curves on the windshield above the visor. Also don't think a third pile will fit. Still recommend this and I'll probably order another.
I am an avid fisherman but live in an apartment in a big city with little space for gear - this is probably my favorite purchase of the past year! It’s fits perfectly in my 2016 Subaru Forester, and holds everything from fly rods to assembled freshwater rods to surf rods (in 2 pieces). My gear now safely lives in the car and I’m always able to stop by on my way home from work for 30 mins of fishing or have less hassle when I need to get up at 4am to get to the shore by sunrise
