Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at the Malone Striper locking fishing rod carrier. Now, this convenient locking carrier is going to let you transport up to four fishing rods safely and securely on your roof rack. It fits four spinning rods and reels and it will work on your round, square, arrow, elliptical and most factory crossbars with this universal mounting system. Now, the push button release is going to let you easily open the carrier and the padded tip clamps are going to help protect your rods from scratches and scuffs. So, we have a generous portion of padding in each of those areas where the tips of your fishing rods are going to go in. And the included lock is going to secure your rods to the carrier.
Two keys are included and to lock this, you're just going to turn the key and remove it. And as you can see, that's going to be locked and secure. Now, I do wanna point out that the tip holder latch is only secure when the key is removed. And I also wanna mention that replacement keys are not available, so you do wanna make sure that you always store the keys in a safe place. So, again, it's gonna be very easy to use, very easy to open and this is going to be, these tubes are gonna be where the handles of your fishing rods will go.
So, I just want to give you a brief overview of these and just to give you some overall dimensions to give you an idea of the size of this system, beginning with looking at the dimensions of our clamp. The overall length, we're sitting right at about 18 inches long, and then the overall width, including the mounting points, so here at the widest point, we're sitting right at about five inches wide. And this is going to sit about four inches tall off your roof rack. And then, looking at the dimensions of our tubes where the handles of your fishing rods are going to go. The overall length, we're sitting at about 14 inches long.
The overall width, about 11 inches wide. And again, the overall height about four inches tall. Now, this carrier is well built with corrosion resistant components. It's a very durable, tough plastic material, so it's going to really hold up well, and the mounting hardware as well is going to be corrosion resistant. Instructions are included to walk you through the installation process.
And this does have a limited lifetime warranty from Malone. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Other than that it’s a good rack
