Maximize Your Storage Space
DoubleHaul

Get your fishing rods out of the back of your vehicle and free up space for friends and other gear. The Yakima DoubleHaul is capable of holding 4 fully-rigged, single-handed fly rods up to 10' long. If your poles are over 10' long, you can still carry them, but you'll have to break them down first.

DoubleHaul

In addition to freeing up space inside your vehicle, the DoubleHaul also saves space on your roof. Because it's only 14" wide, you'll have room on your roof rack to carry a kayak, cargo basket, or other gear.

Enclosed Carrier for Safe Transport
Yakima DoubleHaul

This carrier keeps your rods safe from inclement weather and kicked-up road debris. It also keeps all your fishing poles separated and secure so you can have your rods fully-rigged and ready to fish. This gives you the ability to just pull up to your fishing spot, grab your poles, and go.

Yakima DoubleHaulYakima DoubleHaul

Yakima's customizable DoubleHaul can be set at the full 10-11/12' or reduced to 6' for less overhang on smaller vehicles, or for storage. To reduce the carrier from full length to its shorter configuration, you'll need to use the provided tools to separate the end cowl from the carrier. Next, remove one of the tube sections, then replace the end cowl using the hardware you just removed. Now you're all set to install it on your roof rack.

Yakima DoubleHaul
The carrier has a unique design in which you store your fly rods resting on the reel's side, rather than the reels dangling without side support. Placing the reels on their side is beneficial because it fully supports the reel in a padded enclosure, cutting down on road vibration and making it less likely to get damaged during transport. In addition, padding in the hatch stops the reels from shifting after the end cap is secured.

The DoubleHaul's individual rod tubes provide another way of reducing strain and wear on your rods. These plastic-lined tubes keep your poles separated to help prevent damage to the rods and stripping guides. Also, the large diameter of rod tubes can accommodate stripping guides up to 40 mm. For extra padding protection, the DoubleHaul comes with 8 clip-on rubber pads to slide over your eyelets or rod tip.

Built-In Security
Locking CarrierYakima DoubleHaul

Whether you're out on the water or making a pit stop on the way to the lake, you won't have to worry about your gear being tampered with. The DoubleHaul comes equipped with Yakima's SKS lock cores on both the enclosure lid and the mounting hardware. So, you can rest assured that a would-be thief won't walk off with your rods or the carrier. If you have other Yakima products and want everything keyed-alike, you can swap out the lock cores (sold separately) to match.

Universal Tool-Free Installation
Yakima DoubleHaul

The DoubleHaul clamps to most roof rack crossbars without the need for tools. After mounting the carrier on your roof, guide the clamps around your crossbar, then thread the bolts through the mounting plate.

Yakima DoubleHaul

After you've threaded your bolts through the mounting plate, screw on the easy-to-grip plastic nuts, adjusting the tightness around your crossbars. Once you've tightened everything, check that your install is secure by tugging on the carrier and tighten if needed. The SmarT-Slot kit (sold separately) replaces the standard mounting hardware and lets you install the carrier in your crossbar's top channels.

The best product I have purchased in a long while. I used it several times on long trips, and it exceeded my expectations.

Great product. Delivery right on time. Thanks

Product is perfect. Design and finish is as expected. Rugged hardware came semi assembled with was a brilliant touch ( pic added ). 5 star product has to be dinged for finish, I would've paid 1 to 2 hundred extra for ceramic or powder coat, or maybe instead of horrible open end wrench, a 10 dollar ratchet box wrench option is better. 2nd star for damage. Pic added, I run an auto body shop and know shipping and seeing the way my package arrived the way it did tells me someone knew about the bent product and at some point said F-IT. I believe I'm qualified to figure 190 bucks is a fair amount to live with said issues. Who wants to deal with returning such a heavy product. I can straighten metal and have refinished stronger for about 400 bucks.

Rod Carrier itself is a good product, the hardware to mount it sucks! They used brass nuts in hard plastic knobs threaded onto steel ubolts. I installed it last year hand tightened the knobs and when I tried to remove it last fall the brass nuts being softer than the steel threaded u-bolts had distorted with just hand tightening pressure and it was a nightmare to remove them. I had to clean up the threads on the u-bolts and then go purchase stainless steel nuts to reinstall it this spring. For the price of the product you'd think they'd spend an extra few dollars and use stainless steel hardware or at least all steel. This is a word of warning, if you install it hand tight to the point that it's secure anticipate problems removing it. You might want to install appropriate hardware the first time. Yakima could have done much better.

Awesome setup to save precious time on/in the water. Before using the double haul, I carried all of my fly rods (plus a friends) in cases that were thrown in the back of the Jeep. Now, I can rig all of my rods the night before, slide them in, lock the case and then wake up the next morning and fish as soon as I get to the river.
Assembly took 10 minutes and mounting maybe another 15 (I was by myself, would be easier with an extra hand). SOLID mount and I am not worried about it as I go down the interstate at all.
Etrailer.com shipped it with lightning speed and I will be buying from them again!

The Yakima Double Haul has been tremendous. I love the ability to have 10 rods stored without breaking them down. I fish a 3wt 10 euro nymph rod and the carrier has been phenomenal. It does get a little dusty inside when Im driving at higher speeds on gravel forest service roads. No big issue for me. It is quite the beast. Very solid construction. I can put on and take off my Bronco solo though. Only upgrade I would consider would be a 12 option to use with my SteelheadSalmon 8wt rods.

Arrived fast and not damaged. The rack was just like the description on the website. Cannot wait to get her installed!
