Maximize Your Storage Space
Get your fishing rods out of the back of your vehicle and free up space for friends and other gear. The Yakima ReelDeal is capable of holding 8 fishing poles up to 7' long. If your poles are over 7' long, you can still carry them, but you'll have to break them down first.
During the winter months, the ReelDeal doubles as a ski and snowboard carrier, so you can leave it installed year-round. When used in this capacity the carrier can hold 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards.
Soft Rubber Padding for Safe Transport
The arms on the ReelDeal have sturdy yet flexible rubber grips. The rubber lines the top and bottom of the arms and protects your gear from being scratched or scuffed by the carrier.
Quick and Easy Access
A large push button on the side of each unit makes it easy to open the carrier. The spring-loaded arms pop open once the button is engaged and remain elevated while you're loading your rods. When you're ready to head out, just push the arm down until it snaps into place.
Built-In Security
With Yakima's built-in security, you won't have to worry about your rods being tampered with if you make a pit stop on the way to the lake. The ReelDeal comes equipped with Yakima SKS lock cores that secure your rods in the carrier. Additionally, the mounting clamps have security screws that require a security wrench to remove. This means you can rest assured that a would-be thief won't walk off with your rods or the carrier. If you have other Yakima products and want everything keyed-alike, you can swap out the lock cores (sold separately) to match.
Adjustable Clamp-On Installation
Before mounting the carrier to your roof rack, adjust the clamps and choose the appropriate slot for your crossbars. These slots can be found on the hinge side of the clamp. For most aero bars and round bars, you'll want to use the #2 slot. For most heavy duty (HD) bars you'll want to use the #3 slot. For factory bars try each slot and adjust until you find perfect fit for your crossbars.
After adjusting your clamps, mount the carriers to your roof rack, close the clamps around your crossbar, then turn the over-sized knobs on the T-bolts to tighten the clamps. Once you've tightened the T-bolts, use the provided Allen wrench to tighten the security screw. Check that your install is secure by pushing and pulling on the carriers and tighten if needed.

Excellent product. It frees up so much room in your car or SUV. No need to put the rear seats down. Less chance for entanglement and damage to rods and reels. Note the Malone Micro-Sport trailer in the picture. Another great etrailer purchase. Still awesome after 2 years

Great service and fast shipping from etrailer. My only issue with the product is that it only fits 4 of my large offshore Shimano Terez poles with Shimano SW25000 reels aternating them facing forward and backward. Product was easy to install and holds the 4 rods/reels tightly. Fortunately, the carrier is small enough that I can fit two of them side by side on my roof rack so I will order a second one to accomodate all 8 pf my rods/reels.

They seem to hold the rods in place. I test drove around at 70 miles per hour and they did not move. I used 2 surf rods that were broke down in two pieces and two 6 foot rods. The mounts that attach to your cross braces have plastic hinges. Only time will tell how well they hold up. Over all I think they will work well.

The rack is excellent and will do exactly what I wanted, secure carrying of my surf rods to and from excursions.
What was not great was the condition of the shipment when it arrived… the box was really worn / open on the ends and taped up when it arrived (on time btw). I thought, rough trip, hopefully all ok, though this box looks used….
So, as I go to install on my rack what do I find? Instructions have clearly been handled, re-stapled and folded over to pages 2&3…. Hmmm. Then I look at the parts clearly handled, smudges and such. Then I discover that one of the bolts that secures the feet to the rack is missing, only 3 of 4 are in the package. The bolts were in a small ziplock pouch so no way they fell out in transit through one of the tears in the packaging…..
Conclusion, I was sent returned goods. I was not impressed but luckily my local hardware store had a comparable bolt. Installation has gone fine and I am in business.
Solid product from Yakima, questionable business from the supplier e-trailer….

I think the way they attach to the bar could’ve been a little more streamlined like the old style with the round bar which I’ve had for years he still got the square a little holes on the side to make a mold for the square bar.

All ready for the trip to Ocean City MD!! Rods are secure and ready to travel. Very quick install on the Yakima HD rails. Undo the t-bolt fully, move the pivot point to the furthest position, re insert the t-bolt and tighten slowly. Great combo with the Yakima Overhaul system; I now have room for all of our vacation essentials. Thank you Bridget and the team at etrailer; I needed it fast and you got it to me!

This reel deal fishing rack is indeed the real deal. Its got heavy duty construction, spring loaded arms that stay up, nice side buttons with built in locks, the clamps are completely adjustable, the rubber is heavy duty but flexible.. I mean, when I assembled the pieces i was very impressed. Well done Yakima and thanks etrailer for getting it to Hawaii so quickly!! Plenty of things take 30+ days getting here… y’all did it in less than a week. Thanks for the great product and the great service!

Every time I order from etrailer I am worried about the product fitting my vehicle. No worries. It always does. Just put in the vehicle you have in the search box and all will be good. The fishing rod / ski/ snowboard carrier is great. Designed well and easy to assemble. There is enough adaptability in the product that it would probably fit any vehicle's crossbars. Once built, it is easily removed and placed onto the vehicle. The videos that etrailer has on it's site are super helpful.

Absolutely love these! The keep at least 6 rods secure while driving, with zero worry they will detach. I love the ratchet-lock design, as you may have thicker handles or thin ones, but the pressure of the rubber seats keep them all nice and tight. I have had no issues with rattle or the bases coming loose.
Only issue you may watch out for: If you have long rods, such as a 13' Spey, the tips will bow and flex a lot in the wind. I keep those in the back of my SUV when traveling on freeways at high speeds, but transfer to the racks when on the river.

The ReelDeal has been an great addition to my fishing arsenal. If and when I get a new vehicle I will be using this product even if it’s a truck. Note you might get a slight wind whistle at highway speeds. For me this happens when I have no rods in it. It’s very faint and isn’t bothersome IMO
