Hello, everybody. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking together at our Blue Ox four wire coiled electric cord with a four-way round plug on both ends. That's right, folks, so this four wire extension cord is gonna be used for multiple towing applications. Primarily it's gonna be perfect for running power from your RV to that tow vehicle that you're flat towing. You're gonna get two round four-way connectors on both ends of this plug and then you're gonna get two of the metallic ports here that those would mate up to.
So spring loaded lid. You got a notch up here on top of the plug that marries up inside once you plug this in and that kinda latches itself in place so now you can't physically unplug that unless you lift the lid, and then it allows you to unplug it. So very nice feature that they're done with Blue Ox here. The cable itself is coiled. It can stretch up to an impressive seven feet, yet still contracts back to its original size, so it's gonna prevent dragging, tangling, those kinda things.
It is a silicone encased wiring connector here that's gonna prevent corrosion. They've really done a really great job here of keeping everything waterproof and everything. You simply undo the screw here on the back. That's how you would wire up on the vehicle side and on the RV side upon installation. We did some annual maintenance on the tow bar so we decided to buy a new coil. We bought the second coil via [online retailer] (same manufacturer) and within a few days of using it we noticed it did not perform the same as our original purchase. We sent it back and reordered it from etrailer and we are again very happy with it.
I put this base plate on with the assistance of my wife very easy to install. Do recommend the video to install
This is a great kit to add rear lights to a Ford Focus because you have to remove the negative battery cable for towing. There is more then enough wire to complete the job of wiring the lights from the rear of the car to the front for a permanent installation.
Great product works great just what I needed for my toad
Replacement electrical cord to replace our existing wiring between car and motorhome that has seen all kinds of extreme weather during the last 10+ years. The outer jacket started to crack, but still works. Makes connection to our Brake Master towing system quick and easy.
Not what i thought. Ends on the blue ox are a lot smaller than the ones on my truck and rv. So they will not fit without changing both plug ends on the truck and rv. That is what i was trying to avoid. Sorry I will have to return.
It is an exact replacement of what I currently have which will make installation easy
