  • ATC/ATO Fuse

We highly recommend this fuse bypass switch if you need to deactivate a fuse when you flat tow. It's a huge pain to pull the fuse by hand every time, and you risk losing or damaging it. With this kit, you just have to flip a switch.

Features:

  • Keeps battery from draining with the flip of a switch
    • Deactivates the fuse while flat towing
  • Saves you the hassle of removing the fuse by hand
  • Stores fuse so that you won't lose or damage it
  • Mounts in dashboard and connects to fuse box
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Application: (2) 20-amp ATC/ATO fuses
  • Harness length: 2'

Note: Consult your owner's manual to determine which fuse to pull.

Do I Need a Fuse Bypass Switch?

Technically, it is optional, but if you need to pull a fuse on your vehicle when you flat tow, this kit will make your life so much easier. Instead of wedging yourself down on the floorboard and fishing a tiny fuse out from under your dashboard every time you flat tow (not to mention putting it back again), you can just flip a switch. No dead battery, no lost fuse, no damaged fuse, no back pain.

When the switch is in the drive position, the fuse will be active and your car will function normally. When you're ready to flat tow, you'll flip the switch to the tow setting and deactivate the fuse. This allows you to tow your vehicle without the battery draining.

How to Wire a Bypass Switch for Fuse Disconnect

Installing this fuse bypass switch really only takes a few steps:

1. Open the fuse access panel and remove the designated fuse

2. Connect the end of the wiring harness to the fuse socket

3. Mount the switch in your dashboard

4. Insert the pulled fuse into the fuse holder

Makes towing easier.
trailer is the
best

The item was correct and delivered promptly. My only complaint, not the fault of e-Trailer, is it was defective. A spade connector in one of the two fuse holders was out place in the socket. (Buried too deep on the molded rubber) Did not realize it until after it was installed and did not want to tear it out. Will replace fuse holder in lieu of the hassle of sending it back for a replacement.

Roadsters product worked well. I did not remove the lower dash part, and just did extreme yoga to remove and install the fuse bypass. This was the worst part. I can't believe that Honda put this fuse block in such a difficult to access location. The rest was simple. Installing the small connectors was a trick, (I also didn't use the fuse connector) but I finally got the connections in the fuse block. Drilled the hole from the outside and installed the switch. The location could have been lower and more to the left as there was a thicket portion of the dash on the back that prevented the lock nut from seating, but the switch is tight and works well. This is absolutely the way to go instead of pulling a fuse on my 2014 Honda CRV!

by:

I ordered one of these and had it installed by one of the providers suggested by etrailer.com. It didn't work but I can't get a refund since too much time had passed between the time that I ordered and the time I had it installed. I could order a second one though and try to replace possibly defective parts in the first and could return the second for a refund. However, the second one doesn't work either. The tech talked with Roadmaster and they were stumped as to the issue too. Roadmaster is going to send yet a third bypass switch directly to shop to see if this one will work. Basically, I am out of a whole bunch of money and still do not have a fuse bypass. I should have just kept pulling the fuse manually as I had been doing!

by:

Worked as described fairly easy to install. Received earlier than expected also.

  • Fuse Bypasses Needed To Flat Tow A 2015 Buick Enclave
Hey Steven, To bypass the 15 amp ECM and Onstar fuses you can use the # RM76514 and for the 50 amp BATT1 fuse you can use the # RM-76517. These both come with switches to activate/deactivate the fuses. You'll likely need to splice in some extra wires to run them up to the dash for easier access.

  • Do Fuses Still Need To Be Pulled To Flat Tow A GMC Acadia If A Charge Line Kit Is Installed
You will need to use two different fuse bypass kits; the Roadmaster FuseMaster # RM76514 has two fuse holders for the both the ONSTAR and ECM fuse and the Roadmaster FuseMaster # RM-76517 for the BATT1 fuse. These fuses do more than just drain the battery and would still need to be removed regardless if you installed the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25. I do still recommend installing a charge line to save yourself from any dead battery issues, but you'll still need to pull...
