Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

It was easy to install and I amv very satisfied and would recommend this company and its products.

by:

Although it's a front hitch, when delivered, the sticker on the hitch says "not for front installation". Nice hitch and we installed it anyway, however it sat so high on our 1995 Suburban that the bike blocked the driver's view so we weren't able to use it in the front after all

Comments
I cant speak to the purpose of the sticker you describe. Draw-Tite confirms that this hitch is a confirmed fit for your vehicle and is indeed designed for use as a front mounted receiver hitch.

I have had this hitch installed for just over a year now on my '99 2-door Tahoe. The install was pretty straight forward, and the hitch itself has held up quite well through a year's worth of abuse. I use it to run my bike rack out the front; the receiver protrudes just below the factory front bumper, maximizing ground clearance when adding length to the front of the vehicle. And as you can see, the kit comes with two sets of hardware in case you want to maintain the factory tow hooks like I have.

by:

The hitch fit great. I really appreciated the little "guide wires" for getting the mounting bolts through their proper holes. I mounted a snow plow on the hitch and it works great.

by:

This is the second front hitch I’ve ordered
Works
great, looks nice on the vehicle fits tight under bumper like it came from the assembly line of my truck! I use it for my winches and moving trailers around the yard. Very easy install will take less than 20mins to install. I installed them on a 99 Chevy Tahoe and a 97 Chevy pickup. Very fast delivery from etrailer company

by:

Overall great product and fit nicely! I was able to replace the apron and license plate holder afterwards with little modification, just had to cutout for the hitch. The photo shows how I plan to use it so not much stress for the hitch but it feels extremely solid, I’m sure it would be great for winching.

by:
Chevrolet Silverado

Fits perfectly, i like that it comes with the guide wires makes it all go smooth and easy! Install was maaaybe 30minutes and super simple, using it for winch set up, it is perfect (1993 chevy 1500 silverado extended cab) no modifications needed to my truck! Definitely a cheaper solution than to buying a modified bumper for winching. Nice sturdy product.

by:

This hitch worked out great. Easy install. I would have liked if the Draw-Tite product was not only designed in the US but also built in the US. Unfortunately the product is from Mexico. Regardless, eTrailer did great!

by:

The unit exceeded my expectations. The fit was perfect. I also greatly appreciated the extra long bolts so that I could reinstall my OEM tow hooks. Those pulling wires are ingenious !

by:
Chevrolet

Peaches is my 95 Chevy and she loves the front hitch it helps to put the trailer right where I want

by:

Love using front hitch to move boat.

by:

drawtite front hitch receiver that bolts directly without modification onto vehicle and works smoothly for placing wagon in its small back corner storage space in a cramped storage yard.

by:
1994 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Front receiver hitch 94 Chevy 1500 4x4 only took 1/2 hr for installation no problems.

Comments
Great product, I used it to push snow Meyer home plow and move various trailers around.

1993 GMC Suburban

Etrailer as usual did an amazing job. Shipping was fast. Product was easy to install. The wires provided were a huge help with getting the bolts aligned properly. My only regret is that there isn't enough projects and money at my house to order more things from etrailer, but they are always my first click when looking. Thank you guys keep up the outstanding work.

by:
1998 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Great hitch, fit my 98 Chevy K2500 like a glove. The only thing I'd change is to include 4 longer bolts for people who have tow hooks like my truck has. Had to buy longer ones.

by:
1999 GMC Yukon

I'm truly satisfied with the font hitch for 99 GMC Yukon and I will keep shopping with etrailer

by:
1997 Chevrolet Silverado

my draw-tite front mount trailer hitch 2" receiver was shipped promptly and arrived as promised. My 1997 chev Silverado 4x4 has a 34" frame. It was easy to install in less than an hour with no drilling required. My tow hooks had long enough bolts for me to reuse them so I only had to use 2 rear bolts. If they had not fit it would have required I buy longer bolts.

by:

By far the best item I've bought for my truck.Always use it for winching people out who are stuck in mud, sand sometimes myself and moving trailers. Was super easy to order didn't take long to recieve it, and was super easy to mount and bolted right under the front frame. Easy and is super reliable.Thank you etrailer.

by:
1999 Chevrolet Suburban

Definitely a quality hitch that fit perfectly. The only issue I had while mounting on my 1999 GMC K2500 Suburban was that my bumper supports were in the way of installing the provided hardware in the most forward holes so I bought 4 longer grade 8 bolts to install through the tow hooks using the original threaded steel stock. An extra $10 saved me from taking the front end apart.

by:
1997 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Excellent fit packaged well was able to leave lower engine cover on and tow hooks would purchase again

by:
1994 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

I received the front receiver hitch for my 1994 Chevrolet Ck series today and could not wait to get it installed a try it out. It is very well built and not too heavy. I am almost eighty years young and had no trouble at all with the installation all by myself.
Since I have no ramps to drive the front upon, I simply used a small scissor type jack to raise the hitch into place and bolted it up with no weight upon my body at all. Special thanks go out to your planners who thought up and included the "pull wires" in the package. They made it very easy for me to get all bolts into the frame holes to begin the installation. I think it would have been an almost impossible task without those wires.
As soon as I got it done, I connected up to a 20 foot utility trailer and moved it into place with ease. I will be doing much more of that in the future. Parking utility trailers while driving forward is much easier than doing it in reverse.
Thanks for being there for us and for stocking such fantastic merchandise.

by:
1996 Chevrolet Suburban

I have used this hitch on the front of my 96 suburban for a year now. I use it for carrying beach chairs and coolers when we use the drive on beach. It was fairly easy to install to the existing frame and I was able to leave the tow hooks in place. I really like the supplied wires that allow you to fish the bolts into the areas where your hand does not fit.

by:

Fit like a glove!

by:
1999 Chevrolet Suburban

Product has worked flawlessly.
Was
easy to install but needed to re-read the instructions a few times to make sure I understood.
Have bought three hitches so far.
Mounted this one on the front of the suburban to carry extra bikes for a bike tour.
Will be getting two more son.

Comments
We have used the trailer for multiple bike tours and for moving our camper into tight spots. We have also helped three friends install their new hitches, from e-trailer, after they saw ours. albeit, the instructions were a hair off on the last 2014 Outback Expect to get two more this coming year for the kids Subarus. Again, thanks for a good product.
