When you are trying to pour highly flammable fuel, the last thing you want is a big spill. The self-venting system on this can is designed to prevent that. It ensures a smooth flow of liquid without the "glug, glug, glug" experience that you get with other can.
The vent is located on top of the handle, underneath the yellow trigger, and it must be kept open for liquid to flow from the jugs's spout. To open the vent, simply press down on the back of the trigger so that the front part of the trigger raises up. Because you don't have to tip this jug to pour - just position the flexible spout at the angle you need - it'll be easy to hold the trigger in place. As soon as your reservoir is full, just release the trigger and the flow of liquid will stop.
When handling a flammable liquid, safety must be a priority. Filling a fuel can seem straightforward, but a little spilled fuel and a spark can have disastrous consequences. SureCan's safety fill cap can prevent potential accidents. When you want to fill your jug at the pump, just pull back the top and stick the nozzle in the hole. Don't worry about forgetting to scew the cap back on and spilling fuel, because the spring-loaded top will snap back in place when you remove the nozzle.
When you stick the nozzle into your jug, you will push past a rubber barrier called the Flame Mitigation Device (FMD) or flame arrestor that is built into the cap. The FMD stops flammable fuel vapors from escaping and prevents flames or sparks from getting inside the can. Such a simple device can really make all the difference when fueling up.

What's up, everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the SureCan kerosene container. It's gonna be a way to transport kerosene safely. Let's check it out. Now SureCan makes various different containers for different things to carry. So this one's the kerosene, they make gasoline, water, and diesel fuel, but they all operate the same way.
You're gonna have this trigger up top, you push on, then you push down the lever, and that's gonna release the fluid out of the spout here. Spout's also 180 degrees, and at the bottom, so you don't have to worry about tilting it to pour it into whatever you're gonna do. So if we're gonna use it on our lantern over here I wouldn't have to tilt it like this. I would just manipulate the hose to where we fill it up, and just hold the container like that while holding down the lever. So it makes it much easier.
And then I just let go, and that stops the fuel flow. Inside the hose we have the flame arrester, so that's gonna be a good filter to keep any flames from getting inside the container. So I wanted to show you how the flow works. We have the water container. This is gonna be the two-gallon version.
So we'll push this down there. We'll push down on the trigger and the lever. Now we'll release the water. You see how easy it is at whatever angle you need to get it at, and that's about how much it's gonna flow for the kerosene, as well. And when you're done, you just release this and the flow stops.
So that's gonna save you in fuel or water, from wasting anything. To fill up the container, you're gonna have this safety cap that snaps into place. I like how that's gonna save you some fuel, too. So when you put the pump in there, it'll go against it. Once you remove it, it'll close it, so there won't be any spills. Overall, I was impressed with the way the SureCan canisters work. This is the kerosene one, but I like the water one, the gasoline one, and the diesel one just as much. So definitely look to upgrade any of those canisters, if you we're thinking about it, because having that safety here and using the spout made it easier not to have to tip it over, and you didn't have to worry about spilling or wasting whatever liquid was inside of them. I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, and hope this helped.
