Note: Distance between end of outer coupler tube and bend near bottom of coupler sleeve should not exceed 6".
With the Extend-A-Goose from B&W you can finally get the clearance you need to tow your gooseneck trailer with your short bed truck. This sturdy steel coupler provides 10" of offset so that you can complete turns even with relatively tight tolerances between your trailer and truck cab.
The easy-to-grip, spring-loaded handle not only makes it simple to properly latch the coupler around the ball, but it also allows you to lock down the coupler for security. Just use a standard padlock (sold separately) to secure the handle in the latched position, and no one will be able to uncouple your trailer from the hitch ball.

Easy-to-grip, spring-loaded handle eases hookup. The extended coupler does EXACTLY what I needed - gave me extra turning room for my 8' wide horse trailer. (I've already knocked the back window out once - but no more)!! Gives me peace of mind that I can travel and camp without a turning restriction.
I ordered this gooseneck coupler and it arrived in 3 days as promised. It's heavy so I took it to a friend to install it. Took maybe 15 min and I can actually turn my truck and trailer without worrys about blowing out the window like I did the week before. So happy I found these guys, super easy to work with. I would recommend this product to everyone with a short bed truck.
I have it installed on my 2010 Merhow 3H slant load living quarters Horse trailer. I pull it with my 2011 Ram 2500 mega cab. This product works great with have the 6.5 ft. bed. I never have to worry about damaging my back cab or windows if I get in a tight spot. I highly suggest this product.
I’ve always been scared of these extensions, but after installing a sleeper cab on my Ram 3500 I had to do something to gain clearance between my horse trailer and the cab. This thing is heavy! I am not worried about it at all. I also utilized the B&W 4 inch ball extension, giving me an additional 14 inches of clearance. One great thing I did not anticipate is that the addition of these two products actually made the ride quality much smoother than before.
Holes don't line up with pin on trailer. Slight turn to the left(drive side) and paint comes off as soon as you install
I was terrified at every turn of smashing my truck. This extend-a-goose is the answer! Make sure you measure the clearance of your gooseneck support to the bed rails to make sure that extending it the 11 inches doesn’t cause that angled part to impact your truck. The build quality is fantastic, however!! I’m not impressed with the “paint” down around the coupler...after only having it for a month or so I’m seeing rust stains (I will likely cover with a trash bag so it is not out in the elements since it protrudes last the gooseneck overhang. Bottom line, of you want a shortbed and a gooseneck this is a must!!! I no longer worry about crushing my truck and I can swing to about 80 deg off my trailer without worry (before it was maybe 50 degrees) And as always, shout out to etrailer for being a great parts supplier!!!
We have 2 of these because we have a short bed F350. Has saved us from damaging the truck bed and we don't have to worry about crunching our 4 door either.
I live in the Flint Hills of Northeast Kansas and we started using a Bar Six Cake feeder on our pickup to take care of cattle on winter pasture. I couldn't pull my trailer without crunching the cake box. I saw an extend-a-goose on another truck with a similar set-up and I thought this might be the answer. I charted out my problem on paper and figured out the trigonometry that I could increase my turning radius by 18 degrees with the 10" drop in the hitch. I went ahead and ordered the item and installed it the day it came, which incidentally is always very quick with E-Trailer products. It worked like a charm. We still have to be careful with the trailer, but the extender helps me do my job more efficiently.
Placed order on Monday and 2 days later it’s on my door step, this year I have ordered stuff from many different venders ( stuff that etrailer doesn’t have ) and it’s taken 6 months to get, unbelievable shipping this place has and packaging is top of the line. The product appears to be very heavy duty and well built, unfortunately I won’t be using it till next spring, I’m sure I won’t be disappointed for what it’s intended to do. Thanks etrailer for selling top of the line products and speedy delivery.
Excellent item for all short bed truck owners. Before I bought the item and using a standard coupler, it cost me $4500 to get my 2018 Dodge roof and windows repaired. Somebody is really providing new products.
I have a GMC shortbed so this B&w Extend A Goose Neck coupler really makes pulling my horse trailer worry free. I can pull through gas stations without a problem. Love this product.
The coupler is good quality and easy to install. It applies the down force from the trailer at the design point, so there is no compromise in trailer handling qualities for the truck. My truck is a 2016 Ford F-150 crew cab with a short bed, which has limited clearance for the gooseneck. My trailer is a two horse Sundowner gooseneck, which has a V-nose. With the extender, I can make the tightest possible turn moving forward with good clearance between the cab and trailer. Backing up, there is plenty of clearance provided that I do not jackknife the trailer. I estimated that contact would occur with an 82 degree angle between the trailer and truck. That means there is clearance for any maneuver you want to actually make, but of course if you jackknife the trailer too much it would be possible to damage the truck. This is an excellent solution for a v-nose trailer with the F150 crew cab. I would not recommend it for a flat nose trailer. I formerly had a standard bed F150 that I pulled this trailer with. There is no noticeable difference in pulling with the short bed and extended coupler as compared with the 2011 standard bed. The 2016 has more capacity thanks to the lower weight of the aluminum body and the higher torque of the 3.5L turbo charged V6.
Quality product. Installed in about 45 minutes on Big Tex GN. Very tight fit. Had to put old connection under with some blocks and let weight of trailer down on it to get it on.
I love this! I have a shortbed truck and wasn’t interested in buying a bumper pull. This has worked out perfectly! Highly recommend. Super easy to install.
Very well built and just what I needed to pull my 36 ft trailer.
Part showed up early. Would order from them again.
My order was very prompt. I expected it to take a week or more and I received it in 3 days. Very nice surprise. I have ordered before and was happy with the multiple choices they have.
Great product! It is well constructed and will enable me to pull my RV with my short bed pickup. Thank you.
Good workmanship Fits well Used with B&W 4 in offset 2 5/16 ball in combo to get clearance between trailer corner and shortbed cab rear window on 2011 F350 pickup. Have a gooseneck 3 horse trailer with straight front that I used to pull with a F350 long bed pickup. Shortbed lacked clearance and this product took care of problem.
Easy to install. What a big different this made. The trailer is no longer so close to the window.
Order on Tuesday got it Thursday cant wait to try it I think it has fix my problem.Get to keep my short bed 2500 Ram. Thanks.
The Extend-A-Gooseneck coupler has been very beneficial in its use of pulling our 40' gooseneck trailer. We had issues with the trailer scraping on the rack behind the cab of the truck. This extended the trailer back enough to where we do not have that problem anymore.
I absolutely love the extend-a goose coupler for my 3 horse Featherlite trailer. Those extra 8 inches of length is just enough to allow me to hook up to my short box pickup truck and i can still do a 90 degree jackknife without pooching out the back window!!! Worth every penny if you don't have the 8' box!! Cheers from Vancouver,Canada! Hank
made Incredible difference in turning radius. It solved the problem of tight turns and the trailer hitting my truck cab. A must have for short bed pickups. Better built than the factory insert.
We have had our extended goose neck coupler for a year now and are 100% satisfied with the quality of this product! It lives up to the B&W name! Would buy it again no problem!
