With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.

Easy-to-Remove, Simple-to-Store Hitch Ball

The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Operation

When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.

Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Simple, Custom Installation

This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.

Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Accessories

B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer. Even a truck bed utility rack is available so that you can easily haul ladders and lumber with the load placed on the hitch (and therefore your truck's frame) instead of your bed rails.

Loved the quick shipping. Only had a few days to get this and it arrived with 1 day to spare. Had it installed at the dealer's, took a couple of hours. Hauled a heavy trailer over 400 miles with no problems. Worked great.

Comments
Had this hitch installed on a 2019 GMC Sierra Denali. I was very satisfied with both the hitch and the shipping. Just traded the Denali for a 2020 Chevy 3500 Dually last week which came with the gooseneck package so no longer have the hitch.

The B&W trailer hitch is easy to install and a quality hitch. I have installed them in a Toyota Tundra, Ford f-250, and Chevrolet HD 2500. They are the best turnover ball on the market.

I installed this yesterday, along with the Companion 5th Wheel Hitch. Very good instructions, well written, great illustrations. Everything fit perfectly, no struggles with alignment. Very good hardware. Looks to be very sturdily built, the welds looks great. One thing to look out for - on my 2016 Chev 3500 anyway, the exhaust is in the way of drilling the passenger side retractable chain hook holes. You will need an angle drill or drill with a flexible extension cable. Or get your steel rule out and do some serious measuring like I did and drill the holes from the top down. I drilled the accessible driver's side, then transposed those measurements to the passenger side and drilled from the top using a small drill. After hitting the hole, I used progressively larger drills until I found the edge of the 1/2" hole in the center plate, then hogged out the hole the rest of the way with a Dremel grinder. Not a big deal, just had to get a little creative. Over all, excellent experience, from the purchase, the help from customer service (fantastic people!), fast delivery and easy install. Highly recommended!

excellent hitch,I was glad I was installing on a new truck because snipping the notch out to slide the crossbars in was not enough room. so I loosened the bolts holding the truck bed down just on the one side and used a bottle jack to raise the side of truck bed about an inch and they slid right in. worked great the other tough part was torqueing the bolts from underneath but got it all done by myself and works excellent

2019 GMC Sierra 2500

Looks to be made heavy duty I installed it at home in my garage fairly straight forward to do having never installed one haven’t had a chance to use it as I’m waiting on a trailer to be made Note on install I did this laying on the floor I do recommend removing the rear tailpipe hanger and pulling down on the tailpipe to get extra room to slide the canter plate over the exhaust pipe also remove the composite shield on the spare and the spare tire I wasn’t in a hurry I took my time. Cutting the 4” hole I bought a new Milwaukee hole saw the teeth chipped and broke I don’t recommend it I have a 6’6” bed so the hole I cut was 44.75” plus 1/8th for the spray in liner DON’T use the factory dimple as you can see the instructions put my center just in front of the factory mark but it is centered

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

I installed this hitch on a 2018 Chevy HD 2500 WT Duramax model. I'll first start off that etrailer is awesome to deal with. Instructions were correct with no issues. B & W makes a nice product and it is heavy duty. Having installed one of these hitches before, I already knew what to look for, so that made my life a bit easier. The other thing that made my life easier was installing it on a new truck (700 miles) haha. So, I will give a little tip to installers of this hitch. There is a cross bar that is threaded, that the center section bolts to(The rear crossbar). There is 6 pre-tapped holes. DO yourself a favor and run a tap through those holes first. B & W does not cover the holes before they powder coat the part, so inserting the bolts would be a real pain. Also, measure twice (or more) for the bed hole, you don't want to screw that up. Take the measurement from the edge of the bed where the tailgate is, NOT from the front of the bed. Other than that, everything else was good and the fit was perfect. Sorry, I don't have more pics, but I didn't think, I would be doing a review, plus I was trying to get it done. Took about 4 hours to install, including running the wiring harness kit (separate) for the gooseneck trailer. As for my nickname (Angry Johnny) I only cursed once....lol

I watched the video you guys had posted for my exact vehicle and that made the installation so much easier. Not that directions are hard to follow, but seeing it done live is the way to go. I'm one that likes to do things myself unless it's super cheap for an install, in this case everyone I talked to quoted around $350 to $450. My buddy and I did the install this past weekend and it turned out great. I hooked up to my gooseneck last night and im happy to say this hitch is awesome! Can't wait to show the wife how a gooseneck trailer rides so much better than a bumper pull, I'm trying to convince her to upgrade from a travel trailer to a fifth wheel, I think this will convince her.

Instructions and video easy to follow for myself (mechanically inclined and also had a lift). Measurements were perfect (thanks for noting to include spray in liner for center point length). Nearly impossible to use a torque wrench in lateral plates was only issue. Can’t wait to put it to work.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

It was easy to install. The instructions were great. I have a 28 in tool box and a short bed. So, a gooseneck trailer will be close to my box. I considered installing the kit backwards to gain a few inches of clearance. It seems to clear the bed braces underneath. It would be nice to know if there are any consequences other than the latch being on the passenger side.

This is a high quality, basically bolt in product that fits well and has all ample hardware. The video is priceless and must be watched since it answers many questions otherwise. Spare tire removal is basically mandatory but we did leave rear wheels on. Only a problem when torqueing the side frame bolts. Exhaust is problematic at least for the Duramax. We did loosen some rubber hangers and with 2 people, were able to pull down on the exhaust to slip the center section in. The answer to the drilling for passenger side safety chain hooks is correct. Due to the exhaust pipe, you either punch a small drill hole at an angle from the bottom and enlarge it from the top or measure from the top only (less accurate). We drilled from bottom and enlarged it, which was perfect. Drilling a 4" hole in the bed of a brand new truck is scariest part! Measure twice, cut once, be accurate and with a spray in bed liner, its almost the exact same rear measurement (mine was tight getting the center section through the bed after allowing for the spray in product about 1/8"). Otherwise drill a 4 1/8" or 4 1/4" hole. On GM, the center (width about 25 1/2") is centered on the middle bed high slot, not the lower one. Also, shipping, emails, communications etc. were all outstanding.

After a year of use I'm very satisfied with the B&W Gooseneck Turnover ball. I've been using the B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch to pull my 5th wheel trailer. The combination works pretty good. But I recently decided to replace the pinbox on my trailer with a Reese Goosebox. Then I can eliminate the B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch and connect directly to the B&W Gooseneck Turnover ball like it was designed to do. Plus now I will have full access to the bed of my truck without have to remove the Companion hitch. I'll update this and the purchase of my Reese Goosebox after I've had a chance to put the system to the test.

3 stars... Well the install was a bear!! There is a bolt no one tells you about right behind the locking pin you can not get to with a torque wrench. Also taking off the rear tires will make it easier to torque the outside plates to the frame. Other then that the directions were spot on and it looks great. Im just using this set up to use the B&W Companion sliding 5th wheel hitch.

This was a easy install in my 2017 Silverado 3500HD diesel. Watched video of install and read instructions, had all tools ready and complete install took about 3 hours in my garage. Some fasteners are a little tough to get to with a torque wrench.

This product is great. I opted to remove the truck bed bolts and lift the bed to install rather than cut a notch in the bed. This was very easy to do. I have had the product a year now and it has worked flawlessly every time I have needed it. Normally, I don't need the gooseneck ball so having the ability to just flip it over is great.

I did some checking and you'd have to replace the entire hitch for your 2017 Chevy Silverado 3500. Looks like the center section for either truck is different as well as the side brackets. So only option we have would be the part # BWGNRK1016 to replace the entire assembly.

  • How Much Does B&W Gooseneck Trailer Hitch and Install Kit BWGNRK1016 Weigh
The shipping weight of B&W gooseneck hitch # BWGNRK1016 is 112 pounds. Subtract no more than 5 pounds for packaging and at the very least it weighs approximately 107 pounds. That is the combined weight of the hitch and installation kit (both are included). I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. Individually the hitch head by itself has a shipping weight of 48 pounds and the install kit is at 64 pounds totaling out to 112 pounds shipping weight.

  • How to Tow 5th Wheel Trailer With 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 Long Bed With B&W Gooseneck Hitch
The only gooseneck trailer hitch from B&W that fits your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1016, which is what I assume you meant by Hide-A-Hitch. The good news is, no rails are needed at all with this gooseneck installed because it acts as rails for the best 5th wheel hitch in the industry, the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W. How it works is the Companion mounts directly in the gooseneck hole of the Turnoverball...

  • Airbags for 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 With B&W Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch
Yes, you can use airbags on your 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 with the B&W # BWGNRK1016 installed. I highly recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57338 that has included hardware that is designed to be used on trucks with fifth wheel hitch brackets; the only thing to note is that you will need to drill into your Silverado's frame in order to install airbags. The LoadLifter 5000 allows you to adjust the air pressure of each bag individually from 5 psi to 100...

  • Compatibility of 4 Inch B&W Offset Ball and 10 Inch Offset Pipe on 2017 Chevy 2500 Short Bed Truck
With your B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1016 in your 2017 Chevy 2500 short bed, you can use the 4" Offset Ball for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # BWGNXA4085 to give you greater clearance. Using the B&W Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler - 2-5/16" Ball - 10" Offset # BWTEXA4200 would be a great option to even further offset that short bed length to allow you greater turning clearance. These parts will work well together.

  • Can Removing Heat Shield Under Truck During Gooseneck Hitch Installation Harm the Truck
Actually, the structure of the B&W # BWGNRK1016 Turnover Ball gooseneck hitch protects the underside of the bed much better than the heat shield could. The hitch is much thicker and heavier than the heat shield was, so there'll be no worries about heat damage. If you take a look at the instructions which I've linked for you, B&W mentions that the heat shield must be removed. To install a 7-way trailer connector in the truck bed, I'd recommend part # 20110. If you click the provided link,...

  • Does the Heat Shield Get Reinstalled Using the B&W Turnoverball on a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
Yes, the heat shield on your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 while installing the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit part # BWGNRK1016 will need to be removed and then discarded. The heat shield is not a critical component so you should not have any issues leaving it off whatsoever. It basically stops any heat from getting transferred to your bed floor and causing any discoloration but this is now replaced with a very thick piece of metal so the hitch...

  • Installation of B&W Gooseneck Hitch on 2017 Chevy Silverado 3500
We don't currently have a network of installation available, but it's something we're working on and hope that it's live on our product pages in the near future. Your best bet to have a gooseneck hitch like the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # BWGNRK1016 is going to be a local RV repair shop, since they'll have some experience installing something like this. You could also install this yourself if you're wanting to save money,...

  • Does B&W Gooseneck Hitch from 2015.5 GMC Sierra 2500 fit 2019 Model
You do need a new B and W Companion rail kit with part # BWGNRK1016 for your 2019 Sierra 2500 because while there were some updates to the 2015.5 GMC Sierra 2500HD the updates weren't as extensive as the 2016 models which have a different setup for fifth wheel hitch rail kit installs. The older kit you have will not work in the new truck. I attached an install video for this kit on a similar 2019 Sierra for you to check out as well.
