With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.

Easy-to-Remove, Simple-to-Store Hitch Ball

The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Operation

When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.

Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Simple, Custom Installation

This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.

Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Accessories

B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer.

2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

I installed this yesterday, along with the Companion 5th Wheel Hitch. Very good instructions, well written, great illustrations. Everything fit perfectly, no struggles with alignment. Very good hardware. Looks to be very sturdily built, the welds looks great.

One thing to look out for - on my 2016 Chev 3500 anyway, the exhaust is in the way of drilling the passenger side retractable chain hook holes. You will need an angle drill or drill with a flexible extension cable. Or get your steel rule out and do some serious measuring like I did and drill the holes from the top down. I drilled the accessible driver's side, then transposed those measurements to the passenger side and drilled from the top using a small drill. After hitting the hole, I used progressively larger drills until I found the edge of the 1/2" hole in the center plate, then hogged out the hole the rest of the way with a Dremel grinder. Not a big deal, just had to get a little creative.

Over all, excellent experience, from the purchase, the help from customer service (fantastic people!), fast delivery and easy install.

Highly recommended!

Just a great hitch. Solid and easy to install. 10,000 miles of flawless towing.

That hitch was put on for a customer.B&W is the only hitch that I will install in my shop. Both of my trucks have B&W Hitches and they are great. Never had one to fail.

by:
2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

This thing is awesome! Installation is as easy as it says it is. Fit perfect. Looks great. Works great

by:

Install went easy, hitch works great. Only issue was the measurement to drill hole in bed of truck bed was off by ½".

by:
2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

The installation videos are pretty accurate all around. Admittedly, this took me a little longer than the projected time frame, which I anticipated. Removing the driver side wheel well insert also made torquing the bolts there easier. Installation would likely be easier with a buddy, and reaching the torque specifications on several bolts was difficult with a standard 1/2 inch drive torque wrench, but it was all possible and fit 100% perfectly. Excellent conversion for my 3500 8foot bed. Next step is to get the matching fifth wheel hitch and purchase our dream RV.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

I installed this hitch on a 2018 Chevy HD 2500 WT Duramax model. I'll first start off that etrailer is awesome to deal with.
Instructions were correct with no issues. B & W makes a nice product and it is heavy duty.
Having installed one of these hitches before, I already knew what to look for, so that made my life a bit easier. The other thing that made my life easier was installing it on a new truck (700 miles) haha.

So, I will give a little tip to installers of this hitch. There is a cross bar that is threaded, that the center section bolts to(The rear crossbar). There is 6 pre-tapped holes. DO yourself a favor and run a tap through those holes first. B & W does not cover the holes before they powder coat the part, so inserting the bolts would be a real pain. Also, measure twice (or more) for the bed hole, you don't want to screw that up. Take the measurement from the edge of the bed where the tailgate is, NOT from the front of the bed. Other than that, everything else was good and the fit was perfect.
Sorry, I don't have more pics, but I didn't think, I would be doing a review, plus I was trying to get it done.
Took about 4 hours to install, including running the wiring harness kit (separate) for the gooseneck trailer.

As for my nickname (Angry Johnny) I only cursed once....lol

2019 GMC Sierra 2500

Looks to be made heavy duty I installed it at home in my garage fairly straight forward to do having never installed one haven’t had a chance to use it as I’m waiting on a trailer to be made
Note on install I did this laying on the floor I do recommend removing the rear tailpipe hanger and pulling down on the tailpipe to get extra room to slide the canter plate over the exhaust pipe also remove the composite shield on the spare and the spare tire I wasn’t in a hurry I took my time. Cutting the 4” hole I bought a new Milwaukee hole saw the teeth chipped and broke I don’t recommend it I have a 6’6” bed so the hole I cut was 44.75” plus 1/8th for the spray in liner DON’T use the factory dimple as you can see the instructions put my center just in front of the factory mark but it is centered

by:

This is the second B&W Gooseneck hitch that I've owned. The original hitch that I owned was on my last truck and I never had an issue in 18 years of use. Installation is straightforward and etrailer's installation videos are very helpful. I don't think that you can buy a better hitch.

by:
2016 GMC Sierra 2500

I watched the video you guys had posted for my exact vehicle and that made the installation so much easier. Not that directions are hard to follow, but seeing it done live is the way to go. I'm one that likes to do things myself unless it's super cheap for an install, in this case everyone I talked to quoted around $350 to $450. My buddy and I did the install this past weekend and it turned out great. I hooked up to my gooseneck last night and im happy to say this hitch is awesome! Can't wait to show the wife how a gooseneck trailer rides so much better than a bumper pull, I'm trying to convince her to upgrade from a travel trailer to a fifth wheel, I think this will convince her.

by:

Very heavy duty product had a little difficulty getting some holes lined up but when it went together it was solid. Missing a couple 1/2 inch flat washers in the package but had some on hand so worked out ok. It’s heavy but that’s part of being a good safe hitch. Thanks etrailer and B&W

Loved the quick shipping. Only had a few days to get this and it arrived with 1 day to spare. Had it installed at the dealer's, took a couple of hours. Hauled a heavy trailer over 400 miles with no problems. Worked great.

Had this hitch installed on a 2019 GMC Sierra Denali. I was very satisfied with both the hitch and the shipping. Just traded the Denali for a 2020 Chevy 3500 Dually last week which came with the gooseneck package so no longer have the hitch.

I have not installed as of now

by:

Great to deal with and got the parts fast, very impressed.

by:

Hitch has give no problems and was easy to install.
The only issue is when loaded heavy taking off and stopping there is a significant “pop” when the load shifts. I assume is need of lubricant on the ball where it sits in the receiver

Oh, we do not want to be hearing popping noises while hauling heavy trailers. Yes, you can apply grease on all 4 corners of the ball. You will also need to verify that the bolts on the gooseneck are tight and torqued to spec on the frame. You can check out some of the installation instructions for the specs. If the bolts are all tight and the grease does not help, you can contact the manufacturer for further troubleshooting. I will send you their information and a copy of the instructions in an email.

by:
2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

It was not quite as easy to install as they make it look but wasn't bad. Haven't gotten to pull with it yet but it's solid and doesn't look like I'll have any issues

by:

The purchase went very well. I told Kyle what I wanted and he quickly determined the right model to fit my truck. I then bought a newer truck while out of state as my Shipment arrived at my house. Kyle sent me return labels and sent the new model to my house. It was easy. I’ll use etrailer again.

Okay except the handle latch doesn’t hook easily to hold the pin out while turning over the ball.

  • What is OEM Hitch Prep for 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 for Gooseneck
Hey Travis, it took me a second but the OEM prep package is basically a gooseneck hitch rail system pre-installed in the bed of your 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500. If you look in the bed of your truck and see 5 holes/mounts then you have the OEM prep and you'd need a ball like the part # BWGNXA2061. Otherwise you'd need a complete hitch like the B and W # BWGNRK1016 and you'd be set.

It sounds like you want to add a gooseneck hitch to your 2018 Sierra 2500. The B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1016 you looked at is the correct hitch and installation kit for your truck. The B&W is great because you will have full bed access when the hitch is stowed and you're not towing. It also uses a square base for the ball to keep it from turning during hookup. The only other thing you will need is the # 50-97-410 to add a 7-way to the bed of your truck. I...
