With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.
The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.
When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.
Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.
B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer.

Install this heavy-duty hitch on your vehicle so that you can securely tow your gooseneck trailer. Store the removable ball upside down in the hitch when you aren't towing to get complete bed access. Square ball base won't turn in hitch.Great hitch! I'm a pretty avid do it yourselfer so I did the install myself and it was relatively simple. The directions that came with the hitch had all the information I needed. It works well with my trailer and the quality seems to be pretty good. It's pretty low profile while you're not using it as well. Overall very happy with it. A couple of install notes for squarebody Chevy, GMC trucks which is what I installed mine on: You will need to lift the bed off the frame just enough to slide the hitch between the bed floor and the top of the frame rails so if your truck is rusty like mine, you may want to have new bed mount hardware on hand before you start in case you have to cut the old bolts to get them out. Also, the safety chain loops land right on the ridges in the bed floor so they don't recess completely flush even when they're not in use but so far it hasn't been a problem for me. I saw that mentioned in some other reviews on here so I already knew before I bought the hitch.
Installation was straight forward and it's well built. Works smoothly. etrailer was awesome as usual with shipping and service.
However.... ;) on the BWGNRK1400 for '73-'87 GM trucks, the predrilled holes in the hitch for the safety chain u-bolts are 6-1/4" each way from center of the ball. This places the matching holes you have to drill in the truck bed on the sloped edge of the ribs, not in the center of the valley as intended. The instructions read as if the holes are not pre-drilled but they are, so I contacted B&W and asked if I can drill new holes at 8-3/4" each way of the ball so that they center in the next valley and they said no, that will void the warranty. So I had to do some bodywork, cut, weld and grind to scallop the ribs around the anchors to they won't always be sticking up (defeating the flat floor intent of this hitch design). I saw guy on [online] noted this was an issue on his squarebody bed as well.
B&W needs to look at this dimension for future installations to help out the next guy.

One year review. Hitch is performing great, I added the B&W Companion fifth wheel system to this and it s in so cleanly and beautifully. No issues pulling my 40 Chaparral race car trailer or 40 fifth wheel Cougar camper.
Well made, installed in an 86 K30 long bed, with no issues following the instructions. Overall very satisfied with the hitch, only improvement I could suggest would be the manner in which the latch is retracted to remove the ball doesn’t always stay retracted when you climb in to grab the ball it will sometimes release and send the pin through the ball. Other models of this hitch seem to have a better mechanism. Overall very impressed after 6 months.
I recently ordered B and W turnover ball from etrailer.com .Linda H. Was great to work with and answered all my questions. Great experience Thanks Linda.
Solid construction, well built. Should be an easy installation.
Quick and good
good
Everything worked out great the only problem is the handle to pull the pin out is not long enough to go outside the wheel well so I had to add three more inches onto it other than that great product thank you very much
I purchased this to pull a 25Ton GN trailer with heavy equipment and so far it works great! Good price point and reliable product. I would highly recommend this product and trailer. Thank you!
A very good product, I used a warn cable winch to lift the center hitch into place it worked very well, I couldn't quite hold it and work with installing fasteners. The only problem I found was the hitch pin mounts need to be unfastened to get the frame bolt in and tightened. the bolts need to be inserted and nuts started and then after the frame bolt is installed the nuts can be removed and carefully set the hinge pin up over them and reattach the nuts. I have a 2024 and there is a box gusset on the cab side that makes it impossible to put the frame bolt in from the cab side holes. Be sure you clean the frame mount holes and use a lubricant to make it easier to get the nut studs in them. I did mine on the shop floor, you become a reptile for three hours.
This is my 2nd B&W turnover underbed hitch that I have purchased from e-trailer. Price was good, shipping was fast
and the hitch works absolutely great, and it was easy to install.
Easy enough to install. Directions are clear and the video online helped a lot. The little ring on top I made to give it a more finished look around the cutout. It would be nice if B & W included a piece like this with the kit, even if made of plastic. But, very happy with it.
This was the second Goose-neck mid bed ball to frame assembly I purchased from etrailer....this was for a V-8 Tundra; the first was for a V-12 dodge 2500; Both were absolutely spot on in terms of Hardware provided; Instructions; and actual holes already in the respective frames to line up to the hitch frame mounting steel; beyond that I got digital brake/level controllers from these guys for the Tundra and it was mint....cannot speak more highly of etrailer to get the stuff you need to haul....its obvious these guys actually get the kit first then see if it fits...on an actual truck...then order and distribute it when it does...10 out of 10 for etrailer
After having this hitch for a year I can’t say I’m too impressed. They claim the powdercoat on it is durable, but after only a year there’s already spots of rust. The pictures I’ve included are only showing a few spots I’ve noticed. I painted the pieces that sit against my frame with frame paint in hopes that doesn’t rust either. But the outside facing pieces, I haven’t touched. My truck is stored in the winter and the hitch hasn’t even been used yet since purchase. I’m sure it performs well since my last gooseneck hitch was B&W. But as for durability, I don’t think they do as well anymore. It shouldn’t be this rusty only after a year, being stored, not seeing salt or even being used.
I was converting a fixed/welded gooseneck ball on a CM flatbed to a removable one so I could also use a B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch adapter. Although it wasn’t easy to find someone to cutout the old ball and install the new turnover ball, it was done expertly and the hitch works perfectly! Very easy to operate from the wheel well and turn over for a flat area for cargo. Always had a turnover ball in the past and highly recommend this one for a conversion.
The hitch is beefy and seem to be very strong. My guess is the truck frame will give before the hitch. Great quality. I very happy! I'm an above average backyard mechanic and found the installation doable, but a little of a challenge. Differently need a help. My wife was a big help. I use a 2X4 across my bed and a ratchet strap to lift and hold the center section in to position. I also had to reposition my exhaust pipe where it goes over the differential to get some clearance. Also, I had to drill out one of the square holes in the tailpipe L bracket to receive the factory bolt.
This was not to difficult to install. The most nerve racking part was cutting a hole in the bed of my truck. So far the finish is holding up to the weather and none of the bolts have come loose. Now, I just need to get a Gen Y or Reese Goosebox for my 5th wheel to eliminate the giant hitch in the back of my truck!
Top quality , heavily and sturdy parts. Easy to follow instructions. Best things....made in USA and good price!!!
Not my first B&W....and won't be my last either. Installation photos to follow.
Great instructions.
Grab a buddy to help install a few items as it may take two sets of hands.
Make sure and tighten the plate to the cross members before tightening to the frame.

Been about a year since I installed this hitch on my truck. Ive used it quite a bit and Im still happy with it. Havent had any issues whatsoever. It does exactly what I was looking for. Built well, easy to use, pulls nice, and isnt rattly.
