Plate works as expected. The low profile matches well with a recently purchased Goosebox.1284581
This ball is heavy duty and super easy to install. I store it mounted by two of the pins forward of the Fifthwheel. When I use the goose neck I just swap the ball and fifth wheels places.1195714
Great product at a great price. Needed a gooseneck for occasional hauling but didn't want to lose my 5th wheel rails and this fit the bill. Had to loosen the bolts on one rail to get it to sit in place but was a 10 min fix. Had about 10k behind me so far through various terrains and it has done nothing other than what it is intended for. Can't say enough about customer service either, any question i had they had helpful advice and were nothing but nice. Would reccomend this product and ETrailer to anyone in need.240760
I am still loving it. Use it very often with our horse trailer and stock trailer. Has been every where and done every thing i have asked of it with no issues. Still happy with the purchase and glad i went with this product.

E trailer was the lowest price for the 16055 goose neck adapter plate I could find either locally or on line. The free shipping was wonderful and it was delivered on the date promised. I was not familiar with the fifth wheel rails in the new truck I purchased and the website was very helpful in determining which product would work for my application. I am very happy with the process and the product1280292

Received the Curt bent plate gooseneck hitch in less than a week and it fit right in the existing fifth wheel rails. Really like this hitch and with it I am going to be able to salvage a trailer that hasn't been on the road since 1994 that would have ended up as scrap metal otherwise! Thank you etrailer for the prompt and reliable service. 400818
Works better than expected with a short bed truck, the gooseneck trailer I have is not adjustable and is mainly for flatbed use only but with this hitch and rail setup I’m not concerned about rubbing on the bed sides or tailgate, I also have more than enough clearance for tight Maneuvers.722073
Works as advertised. It was simple to put in the truck, on the rails and rattled very little for having so many connections. Good piece of gear if you need to pull a gooseneck and have rails in your truck.920380

Great product great price!! Now I can tow goose neck trailers as well as fifth wheel trailers with my other hitch assemble!!!1032841
I already had the Curt 5th wheel hitch and rails. I purchased the gooseneck receiver d/t most trailers having this type of hitch. It fit perfectly on the rails and I am very pleased with this purchase. I have purchased other things from etrailer in the past and always go back when I need something. The staff is very knowledgeable and always guide me in the right direction.1182093

Received my hitch in the mail on Tuesday, and had it installed in under 90 seconds into my existing rails. Great, solid and sturdy construction. Excellent finish. Will be used to haul 4 - 6 horse aluminum GN trailer. 512557

I needed to move my large "Fifth Wheel" trailer, but my own truck was in the shop. A friend of mine had the truck but had a 5th Wheel connection, while I had a Gooseneck connection. I purchased the 5th Wheel to Gooseneck conversion unit and it worked perfectly. Strong and well made, it did the job, easily fitting onto the 5th Wheel base.
I'm glad to have the part for future uses. I'd highly recommend this part.698385

I shopped several sites for this hitch. Other brands were significantly lighter. I went with Curt the brand I know and Etrailer because they know what they are doing. When I contacted them about the delivery Carol responded quickly. The hitch actually came early. The hitch dropped in as if it had always been there. I like it that I can set it in even with my rear axle or forward if I like. The welds and finish are excellent. We have bought RV furniture and trailer parts from Etrailer and they always are helpful and "on the ball".1091593

A cost effective product that is built just as well as the more expensive ones. Plan to use mainly to tow horse trailer. Appreciate the quick delivery.265319
The "ISR" series uses the industry standard for fifth wheel rails. Since you already have industry standard rails installed, The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch For Fifth Wheel Rails # 16055 adapter will fit. It will give you an easy transition from fifth wheel towing to gooseneck towing. This hitch is simple to install and simple to remove. It has a 3" offset and is good for maximum gross towing weight of 25000 lbs and a tongue weight of 6250 lbs. view full answer...
The 3 inch offset of the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails # 16055 that you referenced is designed to either move the weight of the trailer either slightly before or after the axle of the truck. In most cases this is used to give additional clearance to allow the truck cab to not end up hitting the overhang of the trailer around corners. But this isn't typically needed for an 8 foot long truck bed. So you can either run it forward or reverse and it would be fine. view full answer...
I spoke to my contact at Curt and he said that you could turn the gooseneck adapter # 16055 to have the hitch ball at the back.
We usually recommend keeping the gooseneck ball forward. Keeping the gooseneck forward keeps the attachment point in front of the rear axle and the safety chain loops behind the hitch ball. You want your chain loops behind the hitch ball in order to best protect the cab of your truck in the even that your trailer comes unhitched. view full answer...
The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails - 3" Offset # 16055 comes with a 2-5/16 inch diameter ball. There is not a 3 inch diameter ball option from any of our manufacturers. I've linked the page to all the options we have available.
You may instead want to consider changing your Gooseneck Coupler. I've attached the link to your options. view full answer...
I attached a couple pictures that will hopefully help you understand how the Curt gooseneck adapter part # 16055 installs and is braced from the underside. view full answer...
For your 2015 Ram 2500 short bed with Curt 5th wheel rails, I recommend the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails - 3" Offset - 25,000 lbs # 16055. Because you have the short bed, this will give you a little more clearance around turns. view full answer...
The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails # 16055 has an offset of 3 inches in order for the coupler to be further from the cab of the truck which will allow more clearance for making turns. Its primarily for short bed trucks since there isn't as much room in the bed.
Even though it isn't necessary, it can be used on a long bed truck without issues. view full answer...
Do the fifth wheel rails in the bed of your truck have three sets of mounting slots? The Curt Adapter part # 16055 that you referenced is designed to mount to the inner most slots that measure 9-15/16 inches apart. I attached a picture that has the dimensions of the slots.
This adapter is designed to fit the industry standard fifth wheel rails so most likely it would work well for you. view full answer...
It sounds like you might be thinking of the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails # 16055. This is a gooseneck adapter that fits into fifth wheel rails and is right at the price point you mentioned.

Yes, the Curt gooseneck hitch adapter part # 16055 will fit perfectly into the rails you have in the bed of your truck that currently has a Pro Series 16k fifth wheel hitch. The rails your hitch and this adapter are designed to fit are the exact same size/dimension.
I attached a picture of the adapter installed in a set of rails like you have now as well plus a link to a review video. view full answer...
The majority of above bed fifth wheel base rails use what is referred to as an industry standard pattern and this industry standard pattern works with most fifth wheel hitches and gooseneck plates. The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # 16055 works with the industry standard above bed pattern so you will be good to go. There so long as your rails are spaced 22" apart center to center and you have the two inside slots which are spaced 10" apart left to right then the Curt Above-Bed... view full answer...
The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # 16055 will mount to all "standard" 5th wheel base rails. The Curt Spyder Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails, 25,000 lbs GTW # 16085 is a fit for any industry standard rails like those for your Curt Sliding 5th wheel hitch. You do not need to buy any more parts to make this function with your above bed 5th wheel rails on your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. The safety chain loops are integrated and the pins and clips are also included.
You will want to be aware of your limited turning clearance due to your short bed, but this hitch will work... view full answer...
We do carry a broad range of towing adapters for 5th wheel and gooseneck hitches and trailers that will allow one type to tow the other. All are shown on the linked page.
The key to finding the right one is to use the filters on the page to select the nature of the set-up and to what you're looking to connect.
For instance, if you wanted a way to use a gooseneck trailer coupler on a truck with 5th wheel rails you might use the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails... view full answer...
The Curt Spyder Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails # 16085 sits 7-1/2 inches above the rails at the highest point. The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails - 3" Offset # 16055 will sit lower with the top of the ball 5 inches from the top of the rails. I've attached some measurements to assist. view full answer...
The rating of the Curt gooseneck hitch plate # 16055 doesn't change if the center bolts are not installed on the 5th wheel rails. However since the Curt gooseneck plate mounts to the inner-most set of slots on the rails the center bolts would help with stability, especially if and when the trailer coupler pulls up on the ball while traveling.
Many 5th wheel rail kits use the center bolts already but if yours does not then I do recommend it.
Another option is to use a gooseneck plate... view full answer...
We have only seen gooseneck hitch balls that are 2-5/16" and 3". If you're looking for a Curt fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter like the Curt # 16085 that has a 3" ball we have part # 16055. Included is the review video for reference. view full answer...
The Curt # 16055 gooseneck plate measures right at 23 inches long by 12 inches wide. The tabs that mount into the bed rails measure right at 22 x 10 inches front to back and side to side respectively, measured center to center. The plate is compatible with industry standard 5th wheel bed rails, as long as the inner-most slots are about 10 inches apart on center. The trailer ball will extend to right at 5 inches above the mounting rails.
I've linked to a demonstration video for the # 16055... view full answer...
Both the Curt Spyder Gooseneck Trailer Hitch For Fifth Wheel Rails, Item # 16085, and the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch For Fifth Wheel Rails, Item # 16055, will work well for you.
They both have a weight capacity of 25,000-lbs and a vertical load limit of 6,250-lbs. Both options work with most industry standard fifth hitch rails like Curt, Reese, Valley, Draw-Tite, etc. One major difference is that the Spyder sits 7-1/2 inches above the rails at the highest point whereas... view full answer...
If you measure the length of the coupler on your trailer (see photo), you can then compare that to the height of the bedsides of your tow vehicle as this is going to tell you whether or not you are going to run into any clearance issues. The recommended amount of clearance between the bedsides and trailer is about 5-6". With that being said, the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # 16055 sits about 2-1/2" above the bed floor when measuring from the base of the ball so this is going... view full answer...
The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails, # 16055, is designed to fit Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, and Valley standard fifth wheel base rails which have the 3 holes on each side of the center. I have included a picture of industry standard rails for you.
Since you mention that your rails only have two holes on each side of the center, it sounds like the rails in the bed of your Chevy aren't industry standard and may need to be replaced in order to mount... view full answer...
The Curt Q24 # 16055 fits industry-standard above-bed rails which is also what the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # 16055 fits. So long as those are the rails you have and not underbed rails then this gooseneck will work for you.
I've attached a link to a video review of this gooseneck hitch for you to take a look at as well. view full answer...
If your truck has a fifth wheel hitch that uses industry standard rails (like those sold by Reese, Curt, Valley and Husky), the easiest way to tow the trailer would be to use a gooseneck ball that attaches to your bed mounted rails like the Curt # 16055.
Big Tex tells me they used a Bulldog 4 inch square tube coupler on your trailer, so if your fifth wheel doesn't use industry standard rails, you'd need to remove the existing coupler and install the # BD0289650300 Bulldog Gooseneck to... view full answer...

I recommend the Reese Universal Base Rails And Installation Kit, part # RP30035. This is a 10-bolt kit and includes the rails, brackets, and hardware.
The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails, part # 16055 can be used with the # RP30035 rail kit on your truck. This adapter has a 3-inch offset and a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. view full answer...
