My first and primary issue is that the safety chain u-bolts are positioned to close to the angle iron brackets to allow clearance for them to freely move up and down with the nuts installed (see photos). I can force them up from below with a hammer and stomped them back down from above. This problem is made worse due to the proximity to the ball, if I dont ensure they arent stomped down as much as possible they would interfere with my coupler when turning. I'm honestly still worried about interference if I find myself in any off camber turn.
The other problem I have isnt the fault of the hitch, but now that its installed it is still much more intrusive to the bed space when folded flat than I anticipated. In the past I've had under bed mount balls, this being a work truck I thought the cheaper option would work but I regret that decision.
Not very happy with this hitch. Install was much more difficult than my prior hitch. It's intrusive in the bed (the big rectangular plate is thick and you always know it's there). One winter on it and it's rusting and becoming difficult to deploy. It's hard to get the pin extended to secure the ball at times. Overall it's just not an impressive product in my opinion.

Thank you for your review. I would remove the elements when not in use to further the life span. Also, the hitch ball needs greased before each use. Any rust should be sanded and covered with anti-corrosive paint.

Etrailer has always come through . Even if there is an issue they respond quickly and that means alot . The prices are the best .
Over all a very stout set up but I was disappointed that I have factory threaded inserts in my frame for gooseneck hitches less than 2 inches from where this one mounts but this just didn't utilize them. It does use holes in the frame so there isn't any drilling though. Also you have to cut the bottom seam of the bed inside the wheel well (per instructions) to get the cross members in and have to cut a rather large square hole in the bed floor instead of just a hole for the ball ( also per instructions).
Product is very good but the company is great, My package came torn at the corner with all but 3 pieces missing. 1 phone call to etrailer and they reshipped the parts I was missing with no problems at all. They take care of UPS problems, I received my replacement parts within 3 days Thanks e trailer Jim
The product itself is a good product, but the packaging it was delivered in did not withstand the weight of the product and was broken on arrival. Im hoping that parts are not missing
I currently purchased this product. It is a great setup and pretty simple to install. I had received it about 3 days later. Was missing a few hardware parts so I could install at that time. I had called up the company and let them know and they sent me a new kit no charge. The product is great setup and I would definitly recommend it to anyone else. Thanks for all the great help!!!
The hitch fit very well and install was easy to mount. One small mod to under bed sheet metal was needed.
Works great. Only issue is the chrome on the ball peeling, but that's because I didn't grease it enough. Otherwise no issues at all

After a year it is still a quality product and working well.

All in all it was a smooth install. It took about 5 hours by myself!

This Curt Overbed folding ball goose trailer hitch has worked like a charm since installing last summer. I would recommend it to customers looking for replacement gooseneck hitches on their rigs.
Seems good, the only thing was I was under the impression from the directions and the videos for installation that I could install without removing my truck bed. That was not the case.
its solid , no issues so far ...... the only little detail is the chain connectors they somehow by design tend be difficult to extend up and down but its an easy fix that got done on day one and no problem since
Orderd one was out of stock, ordered another one came today looks great will install this weekend and let you know how it goes.
I was looking for a 5th wheel solution and found this setup. Install was strait forward and Easy. It workes great with my 26 foot camper trailer. It folds almost flat with the bed floor for a flat load surface for sheet goods. The bottom of the mount does not drop to low to impead with exhaust pipe, hoses, drive shaft or rear diff. A great product sold by a good company that's there with support and solutions. Thanks etrailer.
The hitch is extremely stout. The install was not so bad but the instructions lack a bunch of detail. When received, parts were missing. See pics. After a few trips to the hardware store I managed to put the parts together to install the hitch. The fact that I was on a stringent timeline made this task more difficult. The template for centering the frame hitch was non-existant so allot of time was spent with a tape measure and a marker. All in all its a solid unit. I would suggest a buy on this one but etrailer needs to work the transportation issues of their boxes. The Curt over bed portion was all there and in a solid box.
