Hello neighbors. Welcome back. I'm Steven here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look together at this Custom Installation Kit for the Curt Overbed Folding Gooseneck Ball Trailer Hitch. Now folks, this is a custom fit application. It does fit a 94 through 2001 Dodge Ram pickup, both the short and long bed as well as the 2002 Dodge Ram pickup, both the 2500 and 3500 series.
And, again, both the short and long bed. Now folks, please make sure you use our Fit Guide. Etrailer.com. The top center of the page. Enter your year, make and model, bed length, cab style.
Maybe some other questions. Make sure you get the right parts the first time. Now folks, what this rail kit's gonna do is it's gonna let you again install your Curt Folding Ball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch. That is sold separately. Went ahead to throw up a picture here of what that would look like.
So that guy there would simply install on top of these rails. Now this rail kit is again a custom fit for your vehicle. There's no drilling whatsoever required. You already have holes in the frame of the vehicle. These holes line up with the included hardware.
You'd simply thread those into the vehicle's frame. And then these top one heres, they have threaded rods that stick out on both sides of this middle pieces, and the flange nuts that are included go over those. You've also got some nice spacer blocks here. These are used if you need 'em, depending on the year, make, and model. For all the instructions, follow our video, whichever you choose. Make sure that if you need these, you're using them in the correct spot. Now this is actually a 7-inch piece of conduit pipe, and, believe it or not, per the instructions, this is just simply a spacer. So this is made to make sure and help you get these aligned. On the sides here, these are slotted. So you've got some wiggle room to go forward or back. So that's what that guy's for. Again, make sure you're following the instructions whenever you're installing anything. Again, we have some nice videos of our installers installing these as well. That may help you. Now, as you can see, everything here is a very nice heavy duty sturdy steel construction. It's got a great carbide black powder coat finish. So that's gonna resist corrosion, rust, that kind of stuff. And this whole frame set up, when it's attached to your frame rather, is rated at a gross towing weight of 30,000 pounds. So, pretty impressive. Now, that being said, most gooseneck balls that you'll get and install are rated between 20 to 25,000 pounds. So make sure you're looking at all those different weight ratings to make sure you're matching up with whatever you need. So it's okay to have something rated less than this. As far as a gooseneck ball, that's totally normal. Well folks, that's gonna do it for our look today at this custom installation kit. I'm Steven with etrailer.com. Thank you so much for your time. Have fun installing, and stay safe out there.
