Added (welded) to our diesel pusher Motorhome and have no issues and really no worries while towing whatever we feel we need while camping.

by:

This hitch was exactly what was needed for my landscaping customer's small dump body truck. It replaced the original custom hitch with only minor modifications to accommodate the cargo body. I have done considerable work for this customer over many years. No issues reported with this job. All good!! Thanks to Curt and etrailer for great products and stellar service. —

by:

The hitch eeceiver I bought is perfect for my RV. What I was even more impressed with was the updates etrailer.com sent as my order processed and shipped. Each step of the way I was updated by employees who accompanied the update with their photos. Very personalized experience. Thank you etrailers.com!

by:

Package arrived on time-there was a good deal of dust in the package but that doesn’t hurt anything-the hitch and pieces are heavy duty.

by:

Curt Class V receiver received complete and as advertised. Now, to get it installed by welder/ installer on '03 Newmar Dutch Star.

by:

Worked great for my custom application. Placed behind my custom bumper as a hidden hitch.

by:

Well made hitch, very adjustable, and easy to install. No problems towing my 30' cabin cruiser with my new-to-me Semi-tractor. Exactly what I was looking for.

by:

Excellent product, just what I needed for a modified flatbed installation

by:

by:

It’s beefy and solid. The mounting bracket square holes had to be cut in a smidge and he added two more support bars.. but all in all. My welder said it would tow 11-12 k. Not the 16k I was told. But hey. I’m okay with that. There was a shipping issue which forced me to reschedule a few things, that is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise I am supper happy with how it turned out.

by:

It is very well built and the powder coating is very tough, took a good grinding to get it off for the welds. Good price as well. I used it for my 2006 Bounder 35E, not because it was a high rate hitch, as I did not need one, but this was the only one that would lower the hitch to a more normal height from the ground. The old hitch was so high a 10" deep was not enough to use a trailer parallel to the ground. Now I can hook up a lot easier and not worry about scraping. Looks good too.

by:

Great quality product from Curt . Can be easy installation depending on the application.. mine more difficult because of aluminum alloy frame, so will have to do some reinforcing.

by:

I put this on my 03 Freightliner Columbia. It does everything I want it to. It is bolted and welded.
I like it so much that a bought another one and put it on my old school bus. That one is just bolted on.

by:

attached this hitch to my 1984 American General 5 ton military truck. Had to do some modification to air lines and drill a few holes but it is perfect for pulling civilian trailers with the M 813.

by:

Perfect fit on my 2009 blue bird

by:

Well, I really respect the fact that they waited for one year before asking for a review, they offer a 2 inch and a 2 1/2 inch receiver the 2 1/2 inch receiver would obviously be a larger rectangle to accommodate a half an inch, the vertical uprights I received had holes pre-cut to accommodate a 2 1/2 inch receiver I ordered a 2 inch receiver, needless to say, there was an abundance of slop, half inch gaps, requiring a lot of fabrication on either side of the vertical uprights, knowing this now, going with the 2 1/2 receiver should have saved a ton of unnecessary fabrication time.

  • Trailer Hitch for 2009 Sterling Bullet Heavy Duty Truck
I have a solution for you, however there are not any bolt-on style trailer hitches made specifically for your 2009 Sterling Bullet C and C 5500. Instead, you could use a trailer hitch like the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch and Brakcets # 15901. This hitch features a 3 inch drop, is adjustable up to 44 inches wide, and has a 2 inch square hitch receiver. Weld-on brackets for the hitch can slide from 18 inches to nearly 44 inches. The hitch has a gross tow weight of 12,000...

  • Highest Rated Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2003 Ford E-450
I do have an option for you but the 2003 Ford E-450 is a cab and chassis model to which our aftermarket manufacturers do not test/designed their hitches for. In addition to this we do not offer a Class VI trailer hitch receiver. Therefore, the best option I can offer you is the Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch and Brackets part # 15901. This hitch has a Class V rating with a 2" receiver tube opening. It fits frame rails spaced between 18" and 43" apart therefore will work well for...

  • What are the Towing Capacities for the Curt Hitches part # 15901 and # 15902
I can tell you what Curt lists as the capacities for their # 15901 and # 15902 hitches. You are correct, they both have 12k capacities. The only other capacity you will need to look up is the capacity for your RV. If it is at least 12k then you could take full advantage of the hitch's capacity assuming they were installed correctly. This info should be in the RV owner's manual.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver for an RV that is Rated Higher Than 5,000 Pounds
We have a universal, weld-on trailer hitch receiver that's adjustable and rated up to 15,000 pounds. The Curt # 15901 will adjust to trailer frames between 18 to 44 inches wide. You'll want to verify the towing capacity of your RV because you will be limited by the lowest rated component and this hitch will not increase your RV's capacity.

  • Recommended Class V Trailer Hitch For 2003 Newmar Dutch Star RV
The Class lV or V hitches we have that are available for your 2003 Newmar Dutch Star RV require welding installations. I recommend the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Hitch, part # 15901. This will fit frames from 18 up to 44 inches, and with the side brackets produces a drop of 3 inches from the frame. This hitch has a 2 inch receiver opening. You will want to make sure you do not exceed the towing capacity of the RV.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for RV with 2001 Ford F-53 Chassis
I may have a solution for you, however we do not currently offer any custom-fit trailer hitches for the 2001 Ford F-53 Chassis on your motorhome. Our available selection of trailer hitches designed for RVs and motorhomes are all Class III hitches. In order to upgrade, I recommend looking at a Universal Weld-On Heavy Duty Hitch like the Curt # 15901. This is a Class V trailer hitch that can fit frames from 18 inches up to almost 44 inches using the adjustable side brackets. This will offer...

  • Class-5 Adjustable Width Hitch for 2012 Ford E450 Cab & Chassis Cutaway
There are not custom bolt on hitches for this application. The variables in frame widths and custom RV bodies makes it impossible to make a hitch for each RV model. In these cases you have to use a Universal Weld-On hitch. The Curt # 15901 is one such universal hitch which is rated for Class-5 with 15,000 pounds towing capacity and 1500 pounds of tongue weight. The side brackets adjust for frames measuring 18 to 44 inches wide. Please review the attached installation instructions carefully...

  • How to Determine Towing Weight Capacity of a Motorhome
The towing capacity of your motorhome should be listed in the owner's manual. Typically if you know your GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) and your GCWR (gross combined weight rating) you can subtract your GVWR from your GCWR to find out how much you can tow. If you already have a trailer hitch installed on the motorhome it would have weight ratings listed on it as well but those can be higher than the weight rating of the vehicle it is installed on so it isn't a great way to determine...

Your best bet for a front mount hitch receiver on your 2021 Thor Chateau motorhome is a universal hitch like the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch # 15901. What you may be able to use is the Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch and Brackets with 3" Drop # 15901. If Curt trailer hitch # 15901 was welded so that the top of the cross tube was flush against the bottoms of the frame rails the drop would only be about an inch or so. The other weld-on options would have even more drop so the Curt hitch is your best option.
