It’s beefy and solid. The mounting bracket square holes had to be cut in a smidge and he added two more support bars.. but all in all. My welder said it would tow 11-12 k. Not the 16k I was told. But hey. I’m okay with that. There was a shipping issue which forced me to reschedule a few things, that is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise I am supper happy with how it turned out.

by:

It is very well built and the powder coating is very tough, took a good grinding to get it off for the welds. Good price as well. I used it for my 2006 Bounder 35E, not because it was a high rate hitch, as I did not need one, but this was the only one that would lower the hitch to a more normal height from the ground. The old hitch was so high a 10" deep was not enough to use a trailer parallel to the ground. Now I can hook up a lot easier and not worry about scraping. Looks good too.

by:

Great quality product from Curt . Can be easy installation depending on the application.. mine more difficult because of aluminum alloy frame, so will have to do some reinforcing.

by:

attached this hitch to my 1984 American General 5 ton military truck. Had to do some modification to air lines and drill a few holes but it is perfect for pulling civilian trailers with the M 813.

by:

I put this on my 03 Freightliner Columbia. It does everything I want it to. It is bolted and welded.
I like it so much that a bought another one and put it on my old school bus. That one is just bolted on.

by:

Fast shipping

by:

Added (welded) to our diesel pusher Motorhome and have no issues and really no worries while towing whatever we feel we need while camping.

by:

Very happy with this hitch. The size of the end plates matched the frame on our old truck and with the class V weight rating, our old truck can do a few other things around the farm now. Thank you.

by:

Well, I really respect the fact that they waited for one year before asking for a review, they offer a 2 inch and a 2 1/2 inch receiver the 2 1/2 inch receiver would obviously be a larger rectangle to accommodate a half an inch, the vertical uprights I received had holes pre-cut to accommodate a 2 1/2 inch receiver I ordered a 2 inch receiver, needless to say, there was an abundance of slop, half inch gaps, requiring a lot of fabrication on either side of the vertical uprights, knowing this now, going with the 2 1/2 receiver should have saved a ton of unnecessary fabrication time.

by:

Solid as stone!!

by:

This hitch was exactly what was needed for my landscaping customer's small dump body truck. It replaced the original custom hitch with only minor modifications to accommodate the cargo body. I have done considerable work for this customer over many years. No issues reported with this job. All good!! Thanks to Curt and etrailer for great products and stellar service. —

  • Hitch Options For Older Ambulance
There may be an option for a hitch for your older ambulance, and you are correct you will need a universal hitch that is welded on. There are three options from Curt that will work with frames that measure up to 44 inches wide (from outside to outside), with the only difference being the amount of drop they give you from the bottom of your frame: - 3" Drop: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # 15901 - 9" Drop: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C47CR - 18" Drop: Curt Class 5 Universal...

  • Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2020 E-450 Class C Motorhome
Since there are no custom fit receivers for your 2020 E-450 motorhome you will need to use a universal hitch. The Curt Class 5 Universal Hitch # C47CR fits frames up to 44" wide. This is a weld-on hitch so we recommend taking it to a certified welder for installation. The maximum gross trailer weight of 16,000 lbs and tongue weight of 1,600 lbs is as heavy duty as it gets. Keep in mind, you will be limited by the towing capacity of your motorhome.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Options For 1999 Ford E450 Ambulance
The width of the mounting channel is 2-7/8 inches for the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT37GR. It's pretty unlikely this is going to fit, and for applications like yours, the best option is a universal hitch that you can weld on. So long as your frame is no longer than 44 inches wide from outside to outside, a universal hitch will work, you just need to measure how far down you need the receiver to be from the bottom of the frame (the drop). Once you know that, you can...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a Thomas Saf-T-Liner School Bus
The best option to add a hitch to your 2006 Thomas Saf-T-Liner School Bus is going to be the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets item # C97CR. This is a universal hitch that fits frames from 18" to 62" wide. This is our highest rated universal hitch and it has a 20,000 lbs towing capacity. The included brackets will drop of 9" from your bus's frame. There are no custom fit hitches for your Thomas Sf-T-Liner and this is going to need to be welded to your frame for the capacity...

Hi Colin, Since there isn't a confirmed fitting custom-fit hitch for a 1999 Toyota Prado RHD the only option would be to install a weld-on adjustable-fit trailer hitch. We haven't had a Prado in to test it for a fit with a 4Runner trailer hitch unfortunately. etrailer does not have a confirmed custom fit front mount hitch for a 1987 E-350 listed; I checked with our suppliers, they do not manufacture a front mount for this specific vehicle. I suggest consideration of one of the universal mount hitches such as Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver - 18"-51" Wide - 2" Drop - Class III - 2", # C13701. Or the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets - 2" Receiver - 44" Wide, # C47CR. Either of these options may require additional fabrication...
