Hi everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Buyers Products sleeve converter. Basically what this is going to do, it's going to allow all of your 2" hitch accessories to be able to fit into your 2-1/2" hitch receiver. So if you have multiple cars, you got a work truck that's got a 2-1/2" and you got an SUV that has a 2", you don't have to worry about buying two of those products. All you have to do is buy one of these converter sleeves.
It's just going to go onto the stem of your accessory and you can just fish it in there and line up the holes like so. You can put your hitch pin through. This is really, really simple. This is basically just going to give you more usability out of all of your hitch mounted accessories. If you have a really nice hitch ball mount like this, you might want to be using it on all of your other towing jobs you may have. So having this, it's a very, very inexpensive way to get this hitch to fit both sizes.
This is a pretty, pretty top of the line hitch and I honestly wouldn't want to buy two of these. So this sleeve is definitely going to help you do that. And I would just suggest it just to save a little bit of money. So the Buyers Products converter is going to be made of a carbon steel construction with a zinc plated finish to it. So it's going to resist rust and corrosion over time. We do have a lot of different converters here at etrailer.com.
Blue Ox does make one that's powder-coated. So if that's going to look better with your vehicle, that's totally, totally your call. I do suggest grabbing one that's just straight up metal just because over time I've found that the finish on these do kind of scratch away and they don't really have a corrosion resistant finish underneath this powder coat. So over time it'll scratch and it might start rusting over a little bit. So basically I think the Buyers Products is going to be able to get the job done as are all of these converters.
But this one I think is going to look better over time.So one thing I did notice is the placement of the holes here. So when we put the Buyers Products sleeve in our hitch, we had a little bit of overhang. So from the center of our hitch pin hole, which is going to be about 5/8" in diameter, we are going to have about 3-1/2" to the longer side here. And on our Blue Ox, we are going to have about 4" from the middle of the hitch pin hole all the way to the outer edge on the longer side here. And on the other side from the center to the shorter end here on the Blue Ox about an 1-3/4". And then on our Buyers Products it is going to be about 2-1/2". So that's something to think about, if you don't want it to have it sticking out a little bit, you might want to go with the powder coated Blue Ox here because it will stick out a little bit less and you won't see it as much because of the black powder coated finish. And the overall length is going to be a little bit different too. On our Blue Ox it's going to be about 5-3/4". And on our Buyers Products is going to be right at 6".Well everyone, thanks for watching and taking a look at the Buyers Products 2-1/2" hitch receiver converter sleeve.

Bought to get by until I upgraded my hitches to 2.5”. Kept in case a need arises. Works as designed to.
Always excellent service and follow through from etrailer.
Seems like a good value however it’s a bit sloppier than I would like. Remains to be seen when I hook my trailer up the next time.
Excellent customer service! Baily did a great job recommending the correct hitch reducer for my wife's truck and we received the part in just a few days. I highly recommend eTrailer for all your towing needs!
Works great. Very fast delivery.
Recently upgraded trucks and the HD has a bigger receiver. Pretty nice but mine was for a 2"....not a problem with this sleeve it's the perfect upgrade and all you have to do for the explanation why is watch the video....again watch the video. This is definitely the sleeve to have if your in my predicament.
Does the job - easiest way to line up the holes, is to slide it on your hitch first, hold it in place, then slide the whole unit into the truck receiver.
It fit well, and does the job we bought it for. We bought a new F250, and didn't know the hitch was 2 1/2 ...
Works great. The hole matches up perfec tly.
Great price, fits tight into 2.5 inch receiver which should help quiet the hitch
