High Low Adapter Specs

Note: Designed for flat towing only. Do not use to tow a trailer.

Most tow systems require some sort of hitch accessory to either raise or lower the tow bar to an appropriate level. The "Safe Zone" for a motor-home-mounted tow bar ranges from 3" above level to 4" below. Car-mounted models must be absolutely level. Roadmaster's High-Low Drops will provide you with the necessary drop; simply flip the accessory over to achieve desired rise.

It extrudes to far out with the setup that I have making the trailer lights cord to short to plug up. But your product looks great

by:

I'm flat towing an F350 behind my Entegra Cornerstone. The 4" lift allows for level tow arms when towing this tall vehicle. I've towed 7500 miles over the past year with no issues. This is a solid well-built product.

by:

Was just as advertised

by:

Just as advertised and what I need to to the jeep at the correct angle

by:

Very quick with sending items out. Very informative. Very easy to work with. High quality products.

by:

This drop extension is exactly what it is described as. Just what I needed to lower my tow bar to the proper height.

by:

It does exactly what it says. It still looks good after a year. I tow a car behind my RV and although the angle of the tow bar was within the +/- 5 degrees recommended, the car was sitting at the high end of that. This adaptor moved the hitch 4" higher and is enough to make sure the car is always below the receiver.

by:

Perfect fit. Have had it a year and shows hardly any wear. I would recommend using it with solid hitch pins.

by:

Very heavy duty and snug fit into truck receiver. Exactly what I needed.

by:

Great service and good products.

by:

Excellent customer service. Thank you

by:

The hitch fit well!!! Including a pin would be good.

by:

  • Recommended Blue Ox Base Plate Kit for a 2023 Ford Bronco
For a Blue Ox compatible base plate kit that works with your 2023 Ford Bronco, you will need the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BLU23XR. This kit is custom fit and comes with everything needed to install it on your Bronco. These attach in the same place where your recovery hooks are located. The base plate replaces the recovery points which are not rated to be used for flat towing. I have attached a picture below so you can see what they look like installed. The tow bar needs to be within...

  • Can the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter Be Used For a Bike Rack
A quandary indeed, but yes you can use the Roadmaster High Low Adapter for Tow Bars # RM-058-4 with a bike rack. The main reason that we don't suggest using an adapter is because it will cut your hitch's capacity in half, and typically there are heavier bikes involved which would affectively give you no capacity, but since your combined bikes and rack weigh less than 100 lbs I'd say you'll be fine.

  • Complete Flat Towing Setup For A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
For your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, I recommend the Deka Lead Quick-Disconnect Battery Terminal # DW05312. This will allow you to quickly disconnect the battery leads through use of a hand knob. If you're interested in what you need for a complete flat towing setup, you'll also need: -A base plate # RM-523199-5. -A tow bar # RM-676. -A braking system # DM26VR. -Tow bar wiring # RM-154. and a high low adapter # RM-058-4. You'll want to double check what kind of high-low adapter...

  • Drop Shank Adapter For Carrying A Black Widow Motorcycle Carrier Lower On Vehicle For Easier Loading
I have a recommendation as the Roadmaster High Low Adapter # RM-058-4 is only designed to be used with tow bars and not a motorcycle carrier. The Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-303 gives you 3 stacked receivers. This will give you different options on how much you want to lower your carrier. You can place it level with your receiver, 2-1/2" or 5" of drop. This adapter allows for 1,500lbs of tongue weight and will be able to handle your Black Widow motorcycle...

  • Recommended Ball Mount with 4" Drop for a 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver
The Roadmaster High-Low Adapter part # RM-058-4 is designed for flat towing applications and is not rated for the tongue weight associated with straight pull towing. If you need a ball mount with a 4" drop then I recommending using the Curt Forged Ball Mount part # C45458. As long as you have a 2-1/2" trailer hitch receiver on your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 then this ball mount will work well for you. If you have a standard 2" trailer hitch receiver then you will want to use the Curt...

  • Recommended Hitch Reducer from 2-1/2 Inch Hitch to 2 Inch with 5 or 6 Inch Drop for 2016 Ram 2500
A high-low adapter like the Roadmaster High Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2-1/2" Hitches - 4" Rise/Drop - 10K GTW # RM-058-4 is designed for use when flat towing which is pulling a vehicle behind a motorhome. The reason an adapter is needed is because tow bars that connect the vehicles need to be within 3 inches of level for safety. I've attached an article to assist. It sounds like you are looking for something for the back of your truck that allows for a drop for towing or accessories....

  • Adapter Needed With A BulletProof Hitches Ball Mount To Level The Trailer
The Roadmaster High Low Adapter for Tow Bars # RM-058-4 is designed specifically for flat towing so it wouldn't be compatible with what you're trying to do. You would instead either need to get a ball mount with a larger drop or use a stacked receiver like the Gen-Y # 325-GH-313. This specific stacked receiver offers up to 5" of rise or drop and has a 10k capacity.

  • Parts Needed to Use Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System on 2-1/2" Receiver of 2021 Silverado 2500
I have a solution for you, but you can't use the Roadmaster # RM-058-4 to tow a trailer; this high/low adapter is only suited for flat towing where there is not any tongue weight. Instead you can use a hitch reducer like the Gen-Y Hitch Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" - 5-1/2" Long # 325-GH-007 to make your 2-1/2" receiver on your 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 into a 2" receiver that will work with your existing weight distribution hitch. You could also get a completely different shank that...

  • Recommendations for Flat Towing a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500
Your 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT is capable of being flat towed. It will require a few things to be added. The first is the Base Plate # RM-3177-3. This will replace the tow hooks that are on the front of the Sierra currently. I recommend this as its a direct connect base plate that doesn't require use of a cross bar. That means less parts to connect and a simpler hookup every time. You will want to measure the height of your current tow hooks and compare that with the motorhome's trailer...

  • Can I Pull A Travel Trailer With The Roadmaster High Low Adapter RM-058-4?
The Roadmaster High Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2-1/2" Hitches # RM-058-4 is only made for flat towing because flat towing does not put much stress or tongue weight on the hitch. Whereas with trailer towing, there is always some stress and tongue weight put on the hitch and adapter. While they may work, as you have seen people do this, I still do not recommend using it in that manner. Instead, I would just use a drop hitch to accomplish this. Since your vehicle has a 2-1/2" receiver opening,...

For a Tow dolly I recommend the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes # RM-2050-1. For Flat towing it will require a few things to be added. The first is the Base Plate # RM-521195-5. • Hitch Extension Recommendation for Clearing Spare Tire of 2012 Jeep Wrangler with Bike Rack
Since your 2012 Jeep Wrangler would have a 2 inch hitch the adapter you'd want is the Roadmaster part # RM-070 instead as the one you mentioned is for a 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch. Then for a locking anti-rattle device we have the Anti-Rattle Device part # 63232 which would work well. It's a lock that holds the shank of the adapter tight to the hitch tube to prevent movement.

The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM37VR will reuse the manufacturer hardware on your 2021 Chevrolet Colorado 4WD with neutral Transfer case. It does not require you to cut or grind on the frame like the Demco and etrailer options. This is why I recommend the Roadmaster over the others. You will want to measure the height of your current tow hooks and compare that with the motorhome's trailer hitch receiver height. I always recommend doing this ahead of time so that when you're...

  • Recommended Tow Bar Adapter with 6" Rise for 2-1/2" Hitch and Tow Bar with 2" Shank
I may have a solution for you, but we do not have a 2-1/2" Rise/Drop adapter for flat towing with a 6" rise/drop. Since you've got about 3" up or down to work with when it comes to how level to the ground your tow bar must be, you can likely use the Roadmaster High Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2-1/2" Hitches - 4" Rise/Drop - 10K GTW # RM-058-4. This adapter has a 4" rise/drop and would still likely keep you within the recommended 3" flexibility you have from completely level when it comes...

  • 8" Hitch Extender Needed For Rear Hatch Clearance On A 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450
Hi Keith, A hitch extender could be used to gain extra clearance, but this places more leverage on the trailer hitch receiver, thus reducing its capacity. The general rule of thumb of that any hitch adapter/extender will reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50%. Curt's site lists that any adapter under 12" would be a 25% reduction and and anything over 12" would be a 50% reduction. Personally, I would feel safer assuming you'd have a 50% reduction because the cargo carrier is going to...
