Add a bike carrier or cargo carrier with the dual hitch receiver.

by:

Worked out great for my family bike adventure. Traveled with that setup over 1000 miles and it was easy drive. I had cargo carrier on the bottom and bike rack on top, and with that setup and 4 people on board still plenty of ground clearance 11". Dual hitch is a solid piece of steel that can carry a lot of lbs. Just don't overload max. tong weight, need some room for safety!

Solid piece of equipment. Heavy duty hitch, great for custom multi use, best if you have large Suv or pick up truck with biger ground clearance.

by:

piece seems incredibly well built. was delivered incredibly fast and free shipping for a 24 lb item. problem was square receiver was too high off ground for the e.bike wrack to be a comfortable height to lift or ramp the bike onto the hauler. the 6 inch drop made this much easier

by:

This adapter design was exactly what I was looking for. I often carry 4 or more bikes with my Sylvan GO. The pictures show how I configured my setup. Its perfect!!! And yes, I have to be a little careful on really tight turns but its never been an issue. Thank you George and the etrailer team.

by:

Good product. We have travelled over 10k miles towing a car and two electric bikes. No issues, no problems

by:

Great hitch. Exactly what it says in the description. Works perfect for my Blue ox tow bar and my 1UP bike rack.

by:

Works great. Easy to install. No assembly is required. Solved our problem of mounting our bike rack as well as our trailer.

by:

Very sturdy, and a great device for variable hitch heights!

by:

This seems sturdy and fits, but it is a slightly loose fitting. A better design would enable you to tighten the fit.

If you are having issues with it sitting tight, you could always use an anti-rattle hitch lock, like part # RM-061 to reduce the loose fit.

by:

I use this for towing my TOAD and flipped up using the upper one for my E-bike rack. After 1 year, this dual receiver has worked flawlessly and is very strong. I would recommend it to anyone who needs something along this line. Lastly using a hitch clamp / anti wobble device will take any play out the receiver.

by:

A very well built and sturdy hitch. Allows us to attach our flat tow car and bicycle rack on our motorhome.

by:

This is exactly what I needed to tow my Jeep Gladiator behind my class C

by:

We bought this hitch along with a bike rack. After a year of use we are still travelling across North America. Awesome product! Easy and totally easy to use.

Delivery was fast and efficient.

by:

This hitch adapter is just what I needed to carry bikes and flat tow my car. Etrailer is very helpful as carry what I need.

by:

Exactly what I needed to not only tow our Jeep, but also to put our Hollywood bike rack on. Great quality!

by:

It works great, it's what I need , Id like it better if it was cheaper.

Excellent service and products.

by:

Built stout, fit perfectly. Suggest buying a locking hitch pin!

by:

Heavy duty, well made, and fits perfect.

by:

Great product at a fair price . Customer rep was very helpful .

by:

High quality

by:

As Expected. 2" drop aligned car tow bar. Hope to use 5" rise for bike rack in future.

by:

Does it's job well. Holds the bike rack for the ebikes and allows us to tow our Jeep behind the RV.

by:

Exactly what i need.

by:

Just what I needed for my tow and bikes.
Thank you.

  • Roadmaster Hitch Adapter for Flat towing a 2018 Jeep Rubicon and Two E-Bikes
I recommend the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 10" Drop/Rise item # RM-077-10. This adapter was designed for this type of set up. Your Jeep Rubicon and Swagman E bike rack weigh well below the 10,000 lbs maximum capacity of this hitch. I have attached a review video as well as a picture that show this rack being utilized in the same way.

  • Recommended Dual Ball Mount to Tow a Trailer and Use a Bike Rack
Thanks for the picture! To tow a trailer and haul a bike rack off of your Thor Magnitude's hitch, I recommend the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers item # 325-GH-514. This adjustable ball mount has four 2" receiver openings that will allow you to use both a hitch mounted bike rack and tow your trailer. This ball mount has a 12,000 lbs towing capacity and a 1,500 lbs maximum tongue weight. This will not reduce your motorhome's current capacity. This ball mount includes...

  • Recommended Dual Hitch Adapter & Ebike Rack For Flat Towing
There are dual hitch adapters you can use when flat towing so you can carry your ebikes, but none have an offset. The correct adapter is going to depend on the rise or drop you need: - 2-1/4" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2 - 2" or 6" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6 - 2" or 8" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 - 2" or 10" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-10 As for a bike rack...

  • Dual Hitch Adapter For Flat Towing And Carrying A Bike Rack
Hello Steve. I do have a good solution for you, but I cannot recommend using the Malone Adapter # MPG544. Since it is rated for towing only 4,000 lbs, your 8,000 lb towed vehicle would be double the max towing capacity. You are right about there being very little tongue weight when flat towing, but I still cannot recommend using it. Instead, I suggest you use the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6. This is a dual hitch adapter that is essentially designed specifically for...

Yes, you can use a dual hitch adapter for flat towing and carrying a bike rack at the same time. You just need the one with the correct rise or drop, and you can choose from the following: - 2" or 4" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 - 2" or 6" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6 - 2" or 8" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 - 2" or 10" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-10 Then to...

I have a recommendation for you as the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6 cannot be used with trailer towing. Instead you can use the Gen-Y Phantom X Hitch Ball Mount # GY39VR. This has a similar design with multiple receivers. The Gen-Y is rated for up to 700lbs of tongue weight and 7,000lbs of trailer weight.

  • Recommended Dual Hitch Adapter for Newmar Baystar Towing 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Thank you for providing those helpful measurements. With the 8" difference I would go ahead and choose the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 2 " or 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8 over the # RM-077-6. Loading it won't make much of a difference on the height. Also, the flat towed vehicle adds no tongue weight so really there should be no sag at all. Even if you did somehow drop 2" after loading your motorhome you would still be in the safe zone, which is +/- 3" from level. If you want to...

  • Can the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter be Used w/ a Winch?
No, it definitely can not handle a winch! We have encountered this question before and Roadmaster has repeatedly shot it down. The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter item # RM-077-6 can only be used while flat towing and using an accessory like a cargo carrier or bike rack. Gen-Y on the other hand has a ball mount that will work great for exactly what you're wanting to do. It is the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers item # 325-GH-314. • Swagman Bike Rack for Use on Towed Vehicle
I do have a great option for you, however the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack # S64683 referenced in your question is not rated for use at the rear of a towed vehicle. The ride at the back of your towed Jeep Grand Cherokee is going to be quite a bit different than at the rear of the RV or a standard passenger vehicle and this can put more stress on the rack during travel. Because of this only certain carriers are tested and approved for this application. If you want to use the Swagman...

For your 2020 Fleetwood Discovery 38K I recommend going with the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY64FR. This rack can be used at the rear of your Fleetwood Discovery while you flat tow, has a max capacity of 80 lbs per bike - for a total of 160 lbs, and since the # RM-077-6 you have has a tongue weight of 400 lbs you'll have plenty of capacity for everything. As far as stowing the tow bars when not in use, you're going to run into a space issue unfortunately,...

  • Will Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Work For Flat Towing & Carrying Scooter
Hey Brian; the answer is likely no, but it depends on the weight of the Vespa. The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter with 2" or 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6 has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity, so the weight of the Vespa and carrier, along with the tongue weight of your flat towed vehicle can only be 400 lbs. I assume the weight of those is going to be more than 400 lbs, but if it's not then you can use it; otherwise it would be too much weight.

Instead, what you can use that will work with a dual-hitch adapter and your Blue Ox tow bar is a Blue Ox protective guard: - Blue Ox KarGard Towed Vehicle Protector # BX8870 This will do a superb job of keeping your towed vehicle safe, and because it mounts on your Blue Ox tow bar (on all tow bars...

I believe you are looking for a dual hitch receiver adapter like the Roadmaster # RM-077-6 that's directly compatible with the 2-1/2" receiver on your Ford F-250. While there isn't an adapter like this available that's designed for 2-1/2" receivers, you can still use a 2" model like this one by simply adding a reducer sleeve like # C45405 to your truck's receiver. I recommend using the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6 for your bike rack. This adapter will lower your tow bars by 2" which you will want to ensure still give you the +/- 3" height needed for the tow bars to safely operate.
