TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

This SuperTruss hitch extender is specially designed to work with your SuperHitch trailer hitch (sold separately). Like most products from TorkLift, the primary purpose of this extender is to help create a towing setup that fits perfectly with your truck bed camper system. Not only will you be able to extend your trailer hitch receiver out far enough to clear the overhang of your camper, but you will also maintain a high enough weight capacity so that you can tow your trailer.

Heavy-Duty Towing with a Hitch Extension

Most hitch extensions dramatically reduce the towing capacity of your hitch setup, making it difficult to tow a loaded trailer over a certain weight. The SuperTruss, though, creates such a sturdy connection with your SuperHitch trailer hitch that you can still maintain a high weight capacity. To get the highest capacity possible, use a standard weight distribution system with the TorkLift towing setup.

The SuperTruss uses both of the receivers on your TorkLift SuperHitch to ensure a sturdy, secure connection. The solid shank of the extension's top tube slides into your top receiver, and the extension's lower compression tube installs in your bottom receiver. Each tube is held in place with the hitch pins and clips that were included with your SuperHitch. The connection between the extension and your hitch is reinforced with 2 sturdy steel collars that bolt around the tubes of the SuperTruss.

To give you absolute peace of mind, lateral support chains connect to the hitch and the extension on either side of your setup. Just attach one end of each chain to the extension and secure the opposite end to your SuperHitch. Then tighten the chains with the integrated turnbuckles. These chains not only provide extra security to keep the extension in place in your hitch, but they also transfer some of the weight back from the extension to your frame-mounted hitch.

How to Determine the SuperTruss Length You Need

If the camper is mounted on the truck:

Measure from the face of the truck's rear bumper to the outside edge of the camper's bumper. This is the length of the extension that you need.

If the camper is not mounted on the truck:

1. Measure from the inside of the front of your truck bed to the outside face of the truck's rear bumper.

2. Measure the camper's overall floor length from the rubber bumpers at the front to the outside edge of the rear bumper.

3. Find the difference between these 2 figures by subtracting. The difference is the length of the extension that you need.

I needed a way to pull my 24 ft car trailer with my truck camper on,after researching extensively I kept coming back to the Supertruss extension, I couldn't be happier first trip out was 1200 miles and everything performed exactly as advertised.

Still the best option out there, weve towed the 24fter car hauler and never once had a problem, planning a trip to Arizona this winter and using the Torklift products

by:

Very Heavy duty and works as promised. I use it to extend my hitch on my 2012 Ram 3500 when I have my Lance 855s camper on the truck. It allows me to tow my Jeep on the trailer behind me. I also have the TorkLift super hitch on the truck which allows me to tow the loaded trailer with peace of mind. The system of superhitch and supertruss work perfectly together and I highly recommend.

by:

Great product. I have owned a few sets of them and had on more than one vehicle. This order, they only sent partial parts. No sleeve to insert top extension into, short on a couple small nuts and no pins or cotter keys. Had an extra sleeve that i could use from previous purchase of 42 inch extension. I had to go buy other missing pieces due to going on hunting trip

by:

Allowed me to safely tow a utility trailer with my truck camper on the truck

by:

Very heavy duty. Haven’t towed with it yet. But, it should more than handle my 7x12 enclosed trailer with my HD and kayaks in it, while hauling my slide in truck camper.

by:

We have a truck camper and pull a 3 horse trailer. The hitch extension has worked very well.

by:

Delivery was exactly as advertised and products were spot on. Price was good and I appreciate the speed in getting what I needed. Will shop with you again on future needs.

by:

Great product very pleased with this hitch setup no worries now about pulling a jetboat with my camper mounted on my pickup

by:

Perfect! Allows me to tow a fairly heavy trailer with my Arctic Fox on the back of my truck. Only hitch extension I would trust.

by:

I was impressed with how quickly my order was processed. I have owned a shorter version of the hitch extension, so I knew I would get a good product. Very happy with all involved.

by:

FIT AS DESCRIBED

by:

The item installed easily. Now I carry bicycles on the front of my truck.

by:

Great hitch.
Lots of comments on it
so far all positive
No complaints
But I should have ordered it shorter.
I messed up measurements

by:

Great service! Fast delivery! Great pro ducts!

by:

Very fast and free shipping for a large heavy box.

  • Options For Pulling a Boat Trailer Behind a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 with an In-Bed Truck Camper
The longest extension available that will work with the factory trailer hitch receiver on your 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 is the Trailer Hitch Extender # e48YR. You will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch receiver to the edge of your truck bed camper to see if this extension is long enough. Keep in mind that a hitch extender like the # e48YR will reduce your trailer hitch receivers capacities by 50%, and has a max tongue weight rating of 350lbs and a max...

The receiver tube opening size is the only difference between the above two hitches. I was not able to reference the different frame widths you mentioned. Hitch extensions over 18 inches aren't very common because of the stress and torque they put on the trailer hitch and vehicle frame. For a 30 inch extension, the first place we will want to start is with your truck's trailer hitch. • Which SuperTruss Extension Is Needed for 30 inches from Vehicle Bumper to Camper Bumper
That would depend a lot on the shape of the nose of your trailer, but if it's a standard trailer with a decent amount of clearance between the coupler and where the rest of the trailer starts the part # TLE1524 that provides 24 inches of clearance would work just fine.
