Today, we're going to be taking a look at the tow ready hitch adapter. So if you have a two inch hitch like I do on my vehicle, but you have an accessory that needs an inch and a quarter, this is going to convert it down to that size. But with any type of converter, we are going to be adding a little bit of length to the back, and this is gonna cut our hitches capacity in half. So right now my gross trailer weight of my hitch is 12,000 pounds. So now it's 6,000 pounds. The tongue weight is about 600 pounds and now it's 300 pounds.

So just look at your hitch, see what it's rated for. And if you're using this, just cut all that in half and try not to exceed that at all. But what really sets this one apart from some of the others, it's really low, check this out. So this is going to be great for maybe a truck. If you want to keep an accessory in there and still be able to lower your tailgate.

But for me, what's going to be really nice for is getting a hanging style bike rack on here. So I don't have to take the bikes off to access my hatch. Let me take this. This is the hitching post pro and slide it in there and whatever accessory you plan on putting in here like this one does have a anti-rattle bolt and a pin. So you don't have to grab one, but if your accessory doesn't have one, you will have to grab one on our website because it doesn't come with any of them for the inch and a quarter hitch pin hole.

We're going to need a half inch pin and it does not come with it. So grab it on our website. And then for the two inch one, we're going to need a five, eight diameter pin to go through. But for the hitching post pro, I already have one, but let me just throw this bike on here, just so you can see that now with this extender, since we're not really supposed to tilt these with the bikes on there, I'm just gonna lay it on that for now, but now I can still access the whole entire back of my vehicle. Pretty closely.

My handlebars do hit a little bit, but not the rack. So that's really nice. That's one of the examples. If you have a car or maybe like a cargo carrier or something like that, it's gonna help with that as well. A lot of different applications where this extra 14 inches is gonna be coming handy. So from the center of this hitch pin hole to the center of the other hitch pin hole, it's 14 inches this also going to be really nice for some of the RVs. If you have some of those ladders and maybe your bike handlebars are hitting it, or any other type of situation on RV. also for you Jeep people out there. When that back wields it's a little bit bigger, maybe you swapped out some big 35. A lot of the time, these hanging style bike racks, aren't really gonna work that well. Or with the cargo carriers, it's going to be kind of difficult to really maximize the amount of space you're using, just because of that tire. So this is gonna be very, very useful. when it comes to what you're gonna need to grab along with this, of course, we're gonna want to get two different pins cause they don't come with anything. But what I would suggest if you're like me and you like to lock everything into place, make sure you get two locking ones, just because I can lock my bike rack to this, but they still can just go up and just take the adapter with them. So definitely want to get two sets of locks. And if you go on our website, you can get them kind of key to lock as well. So that's kind of nice. You only have to mess with one type of key, but when it comes to hitch, extenders and reducers, all of them are gonna cut your hitches capacity in half. Doesn't really matter how long it is, as long as it's even just an inch out from your normal hitch receiver. It's going to cut it in half. So might as well get as much length as you can because its gonna be the same thing, 14 inches or two inches. It'll cut it all in half. So keep that in mind. We just want to make sure you guys are nice and safe. This thing is made of steel powder-coated finish, not going to rust away and just gonna get the job done and just enable your car to do a little bit more.
