Hitch pin hole was too far up the shaft and couldn't lock into the receiver. Had to return.

by:

This adapter allows us to use a bike rack we have across all our cars. It is perfect for light duty applications, easy to use and it can be stored in the trunk until you need it. I would definitely recommend it.

by:

I was concerned that the adapter might not fit on my 2023 Toyota Venza, LE, but it fits just fine. So, the notice that the adapter will not fit a class one hitch does not apply to the Venza, even though the Venza specifications indicates it is a class one hitch.

by:

It works great I kinda wish I had gotten two of them ‘mmmm

by:

I ordered a hitch and adaptor and it came in 2 days rather then 3 as estimated. I gave me an extra day to install ot before our vacation. It fit perfect! the installation kit and directions made the job easy peasy. was very pleased

by:

Haven't used it yet but assume it will do the job. Need it to install 2" receiver hitch bike rack on my Subaru which only has the 1.25" receiver.

Does the job as advertised. Happy with this purchase.

by:

shipped promptly. Good product. Good Co mpanys

by:

I had to file some weld slug on 2 inch receiver. No big deal, but I had to touch up the paint.

by:

Good product to upsize the receiver for Kuat bike carrier.

by:

The product is well made and fit was good. The looseness of the fit was good to fit different types of locking pins but not too loose to make a loud rattling noise.

by:

Perfect fit for the car. etrailer.com knows their stuff and never disappoints. They also recommend the associated pins for this converter and both worked exactly as expected. I have purchased every hitch, component, part, converter, etc. from them since about 2005 and used their site as an invaluable reference for installation. They never fail. Love this site.

by:

Etrailer is by far the best place to get the stuff you need for towing! I will never go through any other company for the stuff I need!

by:

Ordered a hitch for my mazda3. I already had a hitch mount bike rack I was using on another vehicle but needed an adapter to use in the new rack. Ordered the rack and adapter. Within an hour I get an email and phone call from Michelle saying I ordered an adapter that would not work with the hitch I got. She said she would correct the order and get the correct parts out immediately. Within a few days I had the hitch and correct adapter delivered to my house. Customer service like this is second to none. Can’t believe how in tune they are at going beyond what you would expect from an online company. A++++ all around. Highly recommend

by:

Works well for my bike rack on a small car. My bike rack is made for the 2" receiver on my RV. This way, I only have to have one bike rack that works for 2 vehicles

by:

Over the years I have been very happy withmy purchases from etrailer in general. This little adapter is another good purchase. I bought this one over the other offered because the finish is better. I believe the quality welding and smooth finish will help keep the corrosion at bay for a bit longer and it looks nicer. I appreciate etrailer.com putting forth the effort to provide good pictures for comparison and to ensure the overall dimensions are going to work.

by:

With each order, it was shipped quickly and efficiently! I ordered one part wrong, return was easy and the part I needed was shipped quickly. Highly recommend etrailer.com for all of your needs.

by:

Excellent tool for conversion. It also adds clearance between the end of the receiver and my bumper, a requirement for my car and bike rack.

by:

Little loose but works as expected than ks

by:

Good product line.
Bought trailer hitch,
etc. A few years ago.
Traded cars. Bought more stuff recently.
Complete product line.
Good website.
Instant service.

by:

What I need to make the conversion to my new Kuat bike rack

by:

Fit perfectly to allow me to carry my bicycle rack.

by:

We have been purchasing parts from etrailer for years and have always had nothing short of great customer service and have no plans to do anything different. Keep up the great service

by:

I bought this in case I wanted a hitch attachment that needed the 2" receiver. It is a sturdy piece which should be very reliable.

by:

Great prices, very thorough, fast shipping helpful customer service to straighten one issue out I'll buy from eTrailer again

by:

We received our hitch very quickly. Unfortunately it didn't fit. We've been going thru trying to get a return sticker since last Tuesday...and this is Saturday. We've called them 6 times. The last 3 were not returned.
We are not happy campers.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2017 Volkswagen Station Wagon 4 Motion
Wolfgang, it looks like the only hitch we have for your 2017 VW Station Wagon is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11412 which is a class I hitch (1 1/4" receiver). Since you're needing a 2" receiver you could use a hitch expander # 80303 but that would also cut your capacity by 50 %.

  • Is There a Class III Trailer Hitch for a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu
The only available trailer hitch for a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu (All Models) is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12272 which is a class II rated hitch. Therefore, no you cannot use a class III hitch on a Chevrolet Malibu which is the case for a lot of these smaller vehicles because they simply don't make one for them due to the limited capacities. That said, if you have class III accessories that you want to use there is still an option in the Tow Ready Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter...

  • Difference Between Curt and Tow Ready 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch Hitch Adapters
Realistically there isn't much difference between the two extenders you referenced aside from price. Both are extenders that go from 1-1/4 to 2 inch and are both right at 6 inches in length. If it were me I would go with the Curt # C45785 over the Tow Ready part # 80303.

  • Is Hitch Adapter 80303 Designed For Towing
The Hitch Adapter part # 80303 that you referenced is an adapter designed for hitch accessories like bike racks that happen to have 2 inch shanks but it is not to be used for towing. It really wouldn't be needed for towing either as all you would need is the right size ball mount. People generally don't try to convert hitch sizes for their favorite ball mount like they do bike racks.

  • How to Carry Bike Rack for 2 Inch Receiver on a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch
Honestly, the best practice would be to avoid using an adapter like the # 80303 you'd looked at if at all possible. The very best option would either to remove the existing 1-1/4 inch hitch and replace it with a 2 inch hitch like part # C38JR or replace your existing bike rack for one that's compatible with a 1-1/4 inch hitch such as the Swagman XTC2, part # S64670 which can carry two bikes weighing up to 35 lbs each and is compatible with both 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch receivers. • 2004 Subaru Legacy Outback Trailer Hitch with 2 Inch Receiver Opening
There is no Class III receiver hitch available for the 2004 Subaru Legacy. We do have an adapter that will fit the class II 1-1/4 inch receiver hitch, # 80303 that would allow you to use a 2 inch accessory in your class II receiver. When using an adapter, you must take into account that your tongue weight will be reduced by 50 percent so the weight of your bikes and rack could not exceed 100 or 125 pounds, depending on which hitch you purchase. With the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11486 for your 2017 Hyundai Ioniq only being a class I receiver you will need to use a bike rack like the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack # SH12G that is compatible with class I receivers. The Kuat will allow for up to 2 bikes weighing 40lbs per bike. As your Yakima Dr. Tray having the 2" hitch it is only going to be compatible with a class III receivers. • How To Tell What Class Hitch I Have on My Toyota Matrix
There are a few ways to tell if you have a Class I hitch. Your hitch should have a sticker with the weight ratings, that indicate if it is a Class I hitch. A Class I hitch will have a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. The other way to tell is, on a Class I hitch, there will be a small dent or punch in the receiver behind the hitch pin hole. If your hitch has this punch, it is a Class I hitch. The reason the punch is there, is to prevent customers...

I have a solution for you. Since we don't carry a folding cargo carrier for 1-1/4 inch hitches, the best route is to use a hitch adapter like the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver (Class II Only) # 80303 with a 2-inch folding option.
