I have a bike rack and hitch mount that have a 2 inch mount but only a 1 1/4 receiver on my car so this solved the problem and works great.

by:

Great product

by:

Should work if I can get the right trailer hitch!!!

by:

Great product
Thanks

by:

Worked exactly how I expected based off of description. Exactly what I needed. Thanks

by:

Product works after many attempts to rubber mallet it into the 1 1/4 inch receiver. The paint was so thick that I couldn’t push it in by hand. Some WD 40 and mallet smacks later, it not slides in, but still needs to be tapped out with the mallet. More annoying than anything else.

Sometimes what happens during the powder coat process is that the paint is put on a little thick, which can cause the application to not fit properly. We recommend lightly sanding the adapter where it is not fitting and then covering it with a rustoleum type of paint.

by:

Does what it should do.

by:

Not sure if it is the adapter or the hitch that is too large or too small...

Etrailer Expert

What can happen is that a 1.25 hitch receiver does not always measure exactly 1.25 inches by 1.25 inches. There is a manufacturing tolerance involved that allows the receiver to be a few hundredths of an inches larger or smaller than 1.25 inches, but still be within tolerance. Due to the fact that the connection between a hitch receiver and the shank of a ball mount or hitch mounted accessory is not meant to be a precision fit. Sometimes the hitch opening will be smaller while the shank of the accessory is larger and it can be a very tight fit.

by:

This is my third purchase in 3 months from e-trailer and each one has been an excellent customer experience with a high quality product. Keep up that efficient service!

by:

It fits fine but is a little loose. I have a welding buddy that's going to fix that

Etrailer Expert

I would not recommend welding the hitch adapter to the hitch. Instead, I recommend using an anti-rattle device like part # RM-061-125 to make it fit tighter in the receiver.

by:

not much to say...solid build.

by:

fits perfectly

by:

Met all of my expectations.

by:

Works as advertised, just needed an adaptor from 1.25 to 2 inches.

by:

Great quality but I decided to send it back because I made a change.

by:

Worked as expected

by:

Very good stuff!!!! Hell ya

Perfect service and part

  • Availability Of Adapter To Go From 1-1/4" Hitch To A 2" Hitch
We do have an adapter that will allow you to attach a 2" cargo carrier to the 1-1/4" hitch on your 2016 Nissan Altima. I recommend the adapter # e43YR. This is 6-1/2" long and will go in to your 1-1/4" hitch and give you a 2" receiver on the other end. It is important to note that when using an adapter, you will reduce your hitch's weight capacity by 50 percent. So if your trailer hitch is rated for 200 lbs tongue weight, you will only be able to carry 100 lbs. This will include the weight...

  • Is There a Spare Tire Carrier for 2009 Polaris RZR with 1-1/4" Hitch
It's likely you have a 1-1/4" trailer hitch receiver and if that's the case then no, there is not a spare tire carrier for this size. That said, you can use an adapter like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter part # e43YR so you can then use the etrailer Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier part # e98ZR. Please note, adapters do reduce capacity.

  • Will Rhino-Rack T-Load Hitch Mounted Load Assist Work On a Honda Civic
The height adjustment range of the Rhino-Rack T-Load Hitch Mounted Load Assist part # RTL002 is between 42" and 64" and the weight capacity is 165 lbs. Therefore, so long as the height of the roof rack on the vehicle and weight of the boat are within this range then you'll be good to go. Please note, the t-load is designed for 2" hitches so the only way to use this with a 1-1/4" hitch is with the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter part # e43YR.

The only trailer hitch options available or that will be available for a 2018 Buick Encore are class I, 1-1/4" like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11527 which is what I recommend. That said, if you need a larger opening you can use an adapter like the Trailer Hitch Adapter part # e93YR or part # e43YR. Please note, these adapters do reduce capacity so you'll need to keep that in mind. Unfortunately, as the Buick Encore is a small crossover there's no need for the larger receiver...

  • Is There a 2" Trailer Hitch for a 2016 Honda Civic Sedan
I do have an option for you but there are not any class III, 2" trailer hitches for a 2016 Honda Civic. There are only class 1, 1-1/4" options like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11604 which is what I recommend using. That said, you can use an adapter like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" part # e43YR or part # e93YR but just keep in mind, they reduce capacity so you're now limited to 100 lbs for the bikes and rack.

It features a bolt-on install without any drilling required. That said, you can convert this to a 2" hitch using an adapter like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter part # e43YR or part # e93YR. • Using a 2" Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack With a 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver
I do have a recommendation for you as Thule only offers the Replacement 1-1/4" Hitch and Backbone Assembly # 753370902 for changing your Thule T2 Classic 2" to a 1-1/4". You can use either a Straight Adapter # e43YR or Rise Adapter # HT5R to adapt your 1-1/4" hitch to carry the 2" bike rack. Do note that the adapter will reduce the tongue weight rating on your receiver by 50%. So if you have a tongue weight rating of 350lbs you will have to stay 175lbs or below for the adapter.

The only trailer hitch options available for a 2007 Hyundai Elantra are class I, 1-1/4" like the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24795 which is what I recommend. The reason for this is because the vehicle is small and cannot support the capacities of a class III hitch therefore one is not avavailbe.
