It's perfect for ball mounts, pintle hitch mounting plates, or any other 2-1/2" accessory and it can be split and placed on the shank to avoid any impediments. It installs quickly and, once installed, it doesn't need further adjustment. Installing your favorite accessory in a trailer hitch receiver has never been easier.
The collar automatically aligns the hitch pin holes on your favorite 2-1/2" accessory and a 2-1/2" trailer hitch receiver every time you install it. It prevents you from having to bend down or stick your finger into the hole to check for alignment. It also eases the burden of installing a heavy accessory that's hard to wiggle forward or back in small increments.
The stop collar easily installs on most 2-1/2" accessories and once installed, it doesn't have to be adjusted - set it and forget it. To install, just slide the collar onto the accessory's 2-1/2" shank, insert the shank into your hitch, align the pin holes, slide the collar up against your hitch, and tighten down both hand knobs. If there are any impediments simply unscrew the knobs, split the collar into 2 pieces, and put it back together past the point of impediment.

What's up everybody it's AJ with E Trailer.com. Today, we're going to check out the trailer hitch alignment tool. It's going to be for two and a half inch hitches. We've got our ball mount. Now, what this is going to do is help you line up that hole on your hitch pin hole every single time on the first try. So it's going to take that guesswork out of, put it in there, trying to line up, looking on the side.
It's really awesome. Let's check it out. The way this works is , I've already got put it here on the ball mount, hand tighten it down here on the shank. Just slide up once it hits, lines up on the first try, right there. That's what I'm talking about.
That's how easy it is. It's an awesome accessory to have just because this can be kind of a pain, lining this up on the first try every time, especially when accessories get bigger. Or it's harder to like look around and see. Cause like right now I blocked the camera. Just trying to look and see if that holes lined up.
Didn't have to do that. Slid in it stopped right there. So it's gonna be really easy to set up, but I got it loose. And like I said, they're hand tighten so backed off on these knobs. And what we want to do first is take your accessory, like our ball mount, putting the shank, line up that hitch pin hole where you want it.
So let's get that in there now. See what I'm talking about, it's already sliding on, get that through to the other side. Now we know this is where it needs to stay. So once we know that we can come back with the hitch alignment tool and install it on the shank of our ball mount, bring it around there. Put that back into place. Start, tighten down the hand knob. I wanna move it a little bit closer to the hitch. There we go, right there. So we'll hit the edge and just hand tighten it. That's as easy as it is to set it up. And once you've done that, you're done setting it up. You don't have to do that once. And I would check on it to make sure it's still tied, you know, in a couple of months or whatever, but otherwise you're not going to have to mess with that again. And it makes it so much easier when you're go put that ball mount in. Another application, this would be good with is a weight distribution head. We see it's pretty bulky and kind of heavy to get in there. So any help this line up the holes will be nice. So you already stopped too short if I didn't have this, but now that I have the collar, if I put it right back in there and I just know, go right up to that collar stops right in the spot I need it to be. You can easily put the hitch pin in like that. So it makes it far easier when you're loading something heavy like this, just to make sure that it hits on the first. Take a look another weight distribution shank we we're trying to work with. I got to flipped upside down right now. Just to point out this flat machine edge here, will be really good for the hitch aligner, but as you can see, there's not enough room for it so that it goes right up against where it curves. So we're gonna need an inch and a half of space really to get that, to fit in there. And we don't have that because the hitch pin hole is lined up like this. So it wouldn't have room for that. And then the thing that kind of fights against us is going to be this here, how it's kind of goes in and dips in it. Doesn't get a good grip on and has nothing to really push against. So that kind of doesn't really work with this one. So keep that in mind when you're looking at the shank you want to use it with, and what you're going to get. That one issue aside, it is a really handy tool to have, it's got black powder coat finish steel. So it's going to last, when you leave it on those accessories, you're not to worry about the elements getting to it. And it was so much easier to put us on a ball mount and slide into place and not have to worry about looking off to the side to line up that hole. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and I hope this helps..

Never get on your hands and knees again to install an accessory in your hitch. This stop collar automatically aligns the hitch pin holes on your hitch and a 2-1/2" accessory. Once installed, it doesn't need to be adjusted.Worked Very well, really worked well when putting something in the receiver that was awkward or heavy.
Great idea, but the clamping mechanism doesn’t hold up to a 2.5 inch receiver and a 10,000 lb travel trailer. I have to readjust the clamp every second or third time I use it. Bigger bolts and a larger grip in the nut portion would make a big difference.
This is my second one of these. I upgraded to a 2-1/2 version. Works great!
With the anti-rattle square ring install onto the shank of my ball mount, it acts as an alignment bracket thus rendering this collar unnecessary. Otherwise, would have worked perfectly for me.
Great product, ensures that I don't push my hitch too far into the receiver when we get ready to tow. Just makes setup a little easier.
Great product
Works as anticipated. Came in a timely fashion.
Simple, effective design with perfect function. Slip the collar around your hitch bar before inserting your hitch into the receiver. Pin your hitch. Butt the collar against the receiver and tighten. Thereafter, hitch-pin hole alignment is always perfect. Excellent value.
It’s the perfect mechanism for those trailer hitches that weigh as much as a railroad coupler. Put your hitch on with the pin inserted in the hole, set the hitch pin alignment collar on and you never have to push and pull that monster to get the pin aligned again. Just slide it on up to the collar and bingo your hitch pin aligned. Absolutely ingenious!
The etrailer Hitch Pin Alignment Collar fits perfectly on my Saris bike rack. It’s going to save time and hassle when putting the bike rack on our Honda Pilot Elite
.Customer Service at etraier is the best!!!!
While I have yet to install the collar, it looks exactly like what I need to align the hitch as it is a struggle to get the pin through the receiver without getting on my knees and using a screwdriver to line up the holes. This should do the trick!
Both these devices make my life a lot easier. Being older, the hitch is heavy and knowing it lines up the hitch pin perfectly on the first shot is great.
This device made hitching up the tow bar,and Bike rack so much easier. Once you setup the collar you never have to do it again, hitch pin alignment made easy.
The stabilizing hitch we use to pull our trailer is very heavy and this Alignment Collar has really helped take the guess work out of lining it up. No more pushing and pulling to get it just right.
The hitch pin aligner saves time wrestling my heavy weight distribution hitch. Great product!
It does the job by keeping the exact alignment to the pin screw when installing my bike rack…It did come loose in the beginning once so it did not align, which means I had to readjust it and tighten the screws again.
Great hitch aligner. I use it as a cargo carrier hooked to a Draw Tight Max Frame etrailer hitch/receiver. I set it once at the right distance and every time I've needed the cargo carrier it has stopped at the right point - so much easier than looking for the locking pin hole.
Putting in on my Dodge Grand Caravan hitch I had to put it on upside down as I had no clearance. However, despite that, it lines my bike rack up nicely every time. I'm very happy with it. An excellent idea.
I purchased three of these to use on various hitches and hitch mounted accessories. I found that there was sufficient room to use two of them on the devices I purchased them for such as a powered wheel chair carrier and a bicycle carrier. Not so much with my trailer sway control hitch. So I have one sitting on my desk waiting for the next item that I struggle to get lined up. Where it fits these are super fantastic for simply sliding the hitch or tube into the correct position in the receiver. It saves having to get down on your back on the driveway or in the dirt to shimmy and shake the tube into the correct position for alignment. They easily attach and get secured into place.
