Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Pro Series anti rattle device for inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter trailer hitch receivers. What this unit does is it keeps your hitch mounted accessories quiet and stable as their ends either the receiver tube of the hitch. This helps to eliminate rattle and sway within the hitch, and it works with ball mounts, tow bars, hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks and cargo carries. It simply inserts between the receiver and the accessory, then secures with the included jam nut and adjusted bolt. It's made from a sturdy steel construction, and on the actual bracket we have a nice black powder coated finish to resist rust and corrosion. And again, this is designed for inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter trailer hitch receivers.I have an image of the instructions laid out here.
So you can see here that the bracket is designed to slide over the shank of whatever accessory you're putting inside your hitch. So you slide it over, and then you place your accessory inside your hitch, line up the pin holes, and secure with a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock. And then what you do is you take this and you slide it up against the receiver tube, and you wanna make sure this bolt engages right behind the lip or the collar there at the end of the receiver tube of the hitch. Once you have that done, you can tighten the bolt and then secure it in place with the jam nut.Now they have it where the bolt's in the downward position. You can put it on the side.
You can put it on top or on the other side or on the bottom, whatever works best for your application. And then I did pull out a socket and wrench just to let you know what size it takes. It looks like it takes a 9/16 inch socket to tighten or loosen that bolt. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Pro Series anti rattle device for inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter trailer hitch receivers.

Use this anti-rattle device to keep your ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory from rattling and moving in your receiver. Quick, simple, bolt-on installation. Simply insert between receiver and accessory, then tighten down with included bolt.I have been pleased with the ability to reduce the noise and rattle the device provides. In my application, it meets the description very well and I have no complaints. Some recommendations from my use of the device: keep a good box-end wrench or socket with your trailer that allows you to tighten the device very tight (if not very tight, it will loosen and not work); I use WD40 silicon spray on the bolt each time I install it; if you plan to take this on and off like I do, plan to take the 2 minutes and install this device each time you pull your trailer, it's worth the time.
Welding was poorly done. After 30 minutes of trying I am unable to get the screw through the painted nut. Welding sticks were left on the inside of nut as well as on the frame. Even the nut is off the hole on the frame by at least 1 mm preventing the screw to go through. A giant weld was left on the inside corner so even if the screw went though, the unit would not sit tight. I called etrailer.com for assistance. After waiting 2 different sessions of 10 minutes, I gave up. I would like a new one. This one should have never made it out the door.
Doesn't work. If you tighten the bolt down enough to work the bolt strips. If it had two bolts, maybe it would work better, who knows.
I have ordered 3 hitches for Etrailer; these guys are the best. My last hitch was a Curt hitch, the only one that would fit my car; unfortunately the tolerances are way loose and to make it work I had to get this Anti-rattle device. This device works ok but it is a pain to have to get down on my knees to secure and tighten the thing down - better than nothing. Buy a Draw Tight hitch if you can & you won't have to deal with this. The people at etrailer are excellent with customer service, some of the best I have ever encountered. They will do whatever it takes to make a satisfied customer!
It bents after 2 months, bent where the bolt is mounted. I have to weld my .
Worked well on my Ford Transit Wagon to tighten up a Rocky Mounts bike rack. But the instructions could be better. You do not need to drill any holes in the receiver hitch. Just wiggle the insert or stinger as you tighten the anti wiggle flange, but don’t over tighten the screw.
Perfect fit for the 1 1/4" to 2" hitch adapter that I use on my 2013 Passat for my 2" Küat Enve bike rack! No more hitch play!
Was a little skeptical before buying this piece but once I used it I was glad I bought it. Pretty much elminated the noise coming from the ball mount while towing. A little more to do when you hitch up but worth the time for the decrease in noise.
The anti-Rattle device is what I have been looking for sometime. Took me a few minutes to install on my trike motorcycle where I have a 3 flag mount. The device has eliminated the play I used to have in the mount.
The bike racki n our car, was VERY wobbly...untilI installed this product that I bought from etrailer.com The service and shipping was outstanding, and within a few minutes, my bike rack much more solid, than I expected... HIGHLY recommended !!!
This product seem to work great after it was installed, however I did have to change the lock nut that was provided. The first time I tightened the lock nut down it totally stripped using very little force. After changing the stripped lock nut with one I had it worked out great without any further issues. The new lock nut tightened down just fine and I'm now very happy with the result of my installation, I'm now hearing little to no rattle. Again, the bolt held up just fine, but the lock nut seem to be made of a very cheap and weak tempered metal.
etrailer fulfilled order quickly. Product is sturdy and well made. Paint is excellent. Product works as advertised. I do think that they should put a plat at the end of the locking bolt to prevent marks on the car hitch
This just worked. Customer service was great!
Very helpful customer service and good video on How to
Finally found a anti-rattle device which fits both of my vehicles. Turn around time from order to receipt was very fast. Thanks Etrailer.
Fit well
Keeps the rattle down, but keeper bolt must be cranked tight.
Helpful sales person. Quick delivery, everything I could ask for.
This works very well.
Everything else I got works amazingly. However, this product when trying to tighten the bolt stripped the bolt. Thus making it unusable.
This Anti Rattle device worked exactly as stated....Nice and quiet now ...thanks for a great product... Excellent Rating.....
