Padded, Rotating Holders

frame holders

The Destination rack uses rotating frame holders to secure your bikes. The rubber padded holders rotate 360 degrees, and move up and down the center mast independently, to accommodate frames of various shapes and sizes. The holders have padded ratcheting straps to secure your bike by their frame.

Ratcheting Wheel Straps

wheel straps

The wheel holders accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 48", and ratcheting wheel straps secure the wheels to the bike trays. The straps are padded and can be adjusted along the tray to ensure a perfect fit.

Folding Design

folding design

The rack folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, just unscrew the knob and pull it out to lift the rack up. Re-insert the knob and tighten it to the rack.

Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin

installation to hitch

The Destination rack easily installs in your hitch with the included anti-rattle hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and then tighten it down with the included tool. The threaded pin also works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver. The rack also includes a hitch lock to secure it to your vehicle and deter theft.

adapter sleeve

A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with 2 screws and can be installed or removed quickly.

The Destination bike rack works perfectly on my 2020 Pacifica and I have clearance going over speed bumps! I recently upgraded my bike to a Trek step through which hung too low on my old Thule rack no matter how the cross bar adapter was adjusted. Problem solved!

Works great!

I'm very satisfied with this rack due to its light weight and ease to install, remove and store. We're into our second season of use with short trips to ride on local rail trails. A little concerned about the durability of the plastic straps and clips, as I would be with anything made of plastic, but no issues to date. I would describe it as a "busy" rack with all the straps and safety strap to load the bikes, likely a characteristic of lower priced hitch racks, which gets easier over time. I can open the rear hatch of my 2020 Outback with the rack in slightly less than the full upright position which is a major convenience. For my needs and use, I would purchase this rack again.

Into our third season, this rack continues to serve us well. No issues with the durability of the plastic straps and clips to date. Still pleased with the racks characteristics and convenience for my needs and use as previously mentioned.

Bought a hitch and rack off e-trailer for my 2019 Subaru Crosstrek to haul my bike back to TN and beyond. The first trip with the hitch and rack included a total of 8 hours across state lines and busy highways. The website claims the rack is lightweight, easy to use, and efficient. They promise expedited delivery of a quality product at an affordable price. Some of the top rated specs include padded, rotating holders to secure your bike, ratcheting wheel straps, folding design, and easy installation with locking hitch pin. With the first trip in the books, hoping for the best, and putting the hitch/rack to the test, we can confidently say it exceeded all expectations above, the bike arrived to the location in excellent condition and without worry, and products were delivered sooner than expected. The padded rotating holders, ratcheting wheel straps, and extra ratchet strap included fully accommodated and secured my Fuji bike frame and wheels the full 8 hours. There was absolutely no concern with shaking, wobbling, or rattling traveling far and on busy roads. I appreciate the quick and easy access to unloading the bike from the rack and/or folding the rack to use the trunk. If you’re on the fence, get off and just go for it!! You will not be disappointed. Great quality for a great price. I rated 4 only because I want to see how it holds up over time.

by:

I realy like how it holds my bikes securly in place. I also like that (without the bikes) I can open and close the hatch on my 2014 Hyundia Santa Fe.
I have a 2" receiver on my car.
We went away for a long weekend from CT to VT and had no issues with it holding my bikes. Would definetly recomend.

The bike rack is still working great a year later!

by:

I did a lot of research and decided I didn’t want to spend $300 or more. This Hollywood Destination bike rack had such high reviews that I decided to make the purchase. I figured I could return it if it didn’t meet my specifications. But I am very happy I have it. It’s so easy to put on and take off of my Outback and the bike is very solid with no swaying when I maneuver Illinois roads. This was a great decision and thank you etrailer for your part in this purchase!

I would definitely recommend the Hollywood destination rack to anyone. It weighs 20 pounds and is easy to put on and take off my vehicle. I’m now riding an e-bike and this rack is doing a great job. Thanks

by:

Quick delivery. Super easy installation on car following Hollywood Racks' video. All parts there. Holds bikes securely. Love how it folds up. Great price!

by:

Quick to set up and holds bikes securely. Use with our Hyundai Santa Cruz and Tucson. I'd buy again, no regrets.

Still very pleased.

by:

Rack is in perfect working order, no issues whatsoever, no rust at all, even staying on the car the whole summer. I recommend it. I just added some conspicuity tape (reflective tape) on the bottom, so when it is folded it can be seen.

by:

My wife wanted a rack requiring less lifting for her bike. She was not impressed with the difference and continues to use the old Thule rack.
My son saw another Thule set out roadside for trash pickup and rescued it.
Model T2 916XTR. It has a broken position latching bar operator handle. I need a visual or oral explanation of how that mechanism assembles to install a replacement operator handle. An exploded diagram would help.

David, I do not have an diagram to have however I wanted to be sure I am thinking of the right part. Is is part # 752-1272-001 that you are looking for?

by:

Excellent product at the right price point. I am thrilled with the rack. It was easy to assemble and install. While my purchase goes back longer than this survey, I wanted to take the time to let you know of my "ubersatisfaction".

I would recommend this rack to anybody who has a two bike situation. The rack is sturdy and the bicycles stay on the rack very well during transport.

by:

Great lightweight rack. Just what I need at present time. Local transportation on paved roads. If I were carrying heavy bikes or traveling over a lot of rocky roads I would recommend a heavier rack. We have a 26” and 27.5” and both fit securely.

Pete

6/25/2024

After a year of fairly regular use the bike rack looks as good as the day I first started using it. I was concerned about the longevity of the straps but they work just like new.

by:

I am very pleased with this hitch! Fit my bikes very nicely. Easy to assemble. Rack looks great on my Mazda cx-30. Customer service is very responsive.

by:

I am 63 years old and have had several different types of bike racks in my life but this Hollywood Racks is by far and away the absolute best in every category!
It is the easiest and quickest to use, the most secure mounting for the bike(s), and the most stable on the car. I question why any other style of rack is still made.

by:

Generally pretty happy with the product. The one issue that I have had is that the spring loaded clip on the frame clamp ratcheting strap has broken and no longer provides spring loading and no longer secures the strap in place. Fortunately, I only carry a single bike and am able to use the other frame clamp, but if this one clip fails I am out of business until I am able to get replacement parts.

We do have the strap that you need. It is part # HR27FR.

by:

Lightweight, easy to get rack on and off the vehicle and easy to mount the bikes. Excellent for the price. Like that it comes with a locking hitch pin. Great for short-to-medium trips on decent roads with 1-1/4" hitch. Manufacturer doesn't demand use of stabilizer strap. but it would be a good idea if you're going more than a few miles I probably wouldn't rely on it to transport mountain bikes on bumpy dirt roads, even using 2" hitch.

by:

I have used this about 60 times already. It carries my bike pretty well. I am so glad I was able to get the platform rack because I would have to get an adapter bar for my bike.

by:

Hauled my bike all over the place on this, I love how low profile it is. A few components have started to rust but nothing structurally important. I can still open my hatchback with it installed, and I can ALMOST open it with the bike on it.

by:

I love this roof rack! It is lightweight and the drop down feature allows entry into the vehicle with the bikes removed. Very easy to install and remove for storage.

@Barb Great to hear. Thank you for your recommendation.

by:

Very happy with this bike rack. The videos on this website do a great job of explaining the advantages of this rack. The only disadvantage is that it does not tilt back to allow opening an SUV hatch with bikes mounted. But, bikes are easy to dismount, and the hatch on my 2013 MDX clears the center post by almost 2".

by:

Easy to install and it came mostly assembled. I like that it is lightweight and came with adaptor already in place for 2" hitch.

by:

FANTASTIC! I love this bike rack! Wish I bought this years ago. It's perfect for what I want and need. The assembly was simple - and worked well with my hitch and my mountain bike.

by:

This is a great rack for the price. Lightweight, easy to use. It does take some manipulating for the frame straps on the upright depending on the type of bike frame that you have. I have 2.8" tires on my Trek Roscoe 8 and you can't go much bigger for tire for this rack. It takes a bit of time to get the rack out of the way to be able to use the hatch on your vehicle ( I have a 2020 Ford Escape). I do wish the straps for the tires were a bit longer to accommodate the larger 2.8" tires on the bike. The hitch lock that came with the bike is nice but a little bit of a pain to use as you can't really tell if it is locked or not despite the indicator on the lock. This rack in the fold up position will interfere with your back up camera and cause the annoying constant beep, in the down position without bikes it doesn't not interfere with the back up camera. It is very easy to install as it only weights 20lbs which is FABULOUS. It takes a little bit of time to put together initially out of the box but not rocket science. i do not keep the rack on the vehicle, only use it when I plan on riding. Storage can be an issue as it does not fold away completely flat but you could easily hang on some S hooks in a garage as it's light enough to lift yourself and store away. The red strap that comes with it could have a better retention feature so the strap doesn't slip. All in all for the price this is definitely a rack I would purchase again. I am glad I went with the platform rack vs. hanging rack. Etrailer's customer service is superb and highly recommend them. I even got asked at a red light where I got the rack as he had not been able to find one without having to pay over $700 for some very well known brands

by:

Rack is well made and feels solid. My only complaint is that it is not quite big enough for a 29" mountain bike. It fits and seems reasonably secure, but it straddles the platform and pushes the wheel straps to their limits. Another 3" in width and a third hole for the straps would have made a big difference. Nonetheless, I feel it is an excellent value.

by:

It was easy to put together and also to put on my car. Only got four stars because I haven't traveled with it yet. Very easy to put my bike on it too. I can open the hatch on my Chevy Trax with the rack down and without a bike on it. I hope to do a lot of traveling and exploring with my bike, especially along other parts of the Erie Canal.

Marleen

The rack is working well. I left it on my car all summer and fall. It traveled well with or without a bike.
