The SuperClamp HD has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel, so it won't scratch or scuff the paint. To load a bike, simply place your wheels in the cradles, rotate the arms up and over the wheels, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hooks. To unload your bikes, press in the gray button on top of each hook to release the ratchets and raise the arms up.
The wheel trays have front and rear cradles with ratcheting straps to secure your rear wheel to the rack. The cradles slide along the tray to accommodate bikes with a variety of wheelbases. To secure your wheel, run the strap over the rim and back down through the strap buckle and pull tight. To remove your bike, press the quick-release button on the buckle and undo the strap.
The rack tilts down with your bikes loaded. So, whether you're at the trail or the grocery store, you don't have to remove your bikes to access your cargo area. It also folds up when not in use. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And if you want to remove it, it doesn't take up as much space to store it.
The foot lever is easily accessible even with your bikes loaded. No more crawling through your bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt release lever. It leaves both hands free so that you can lower the rack in a controlled manner. To return it to the upright position, push the rack back toward the base until it locks into position.
The wheel tray has integrated cable locks that let you secure your bikes to the rack. 1/4" Thick, braided steel cables extend from each end of the wheel tray, thread through your bike's frames, and lock back into a compartment at the front of the rack.
The rack includes a threaded hitch pin that helps eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport. A lock on the hitch pin secures the rack to your vehicle. It's keyed alike with the cable locks, so you only need to use 1 key.

It's also rated for use on the back of your RV.Got this rack to go with our Saris swing-out adapter. I’m new to the Saris brand and we are impressed by the quality and design. This rack feels very solid… no rack rattling or bouncing (beyond what is inevitable on a car driving down the road). Thoughtful design with integrated locks and a single key system. Very pleased with the rack. E-Trailer service was great too. The product review video was incredibly informative!
This rack carries two differently sized bikes with and without fenders quite well... very stable (with 2 inch hitch). We use it on the back of a Subaru Outback as well as a Ford Transit van. It carries two road bikes or two trail bikes. The only down side is the weight of the rack. It is quite heavy to carry and hold while inserting it into the trailer hitch. It looked as though the package had been damaged when it arrived and we were missing a part. However etrailer was very responsive in sending us the missing parts. Their support team is the best!
Buyer beware. This rack is not for use on the back of a motorhome despite what it claims. We used it on our car without an issue but the first time we used it on the motorhome the plastic wheel brackets completely broke off while traveling on freeway roads. Our claim was denied by Saris for using a hitch extender which is the only option when trying to tow a vehicle and use their bike rack. It also does not state that you cannot do this in the directions. I was given a rep from etrailer to also follow up on my claim and she has now not responded to multiple left messages. We are out 700.00 for this rack and that is only the minor part. This rack could have seriously injured someone in another vehicle. We were just lucky the tow bar caught the bike. I have purchased all my motorhome equipment from etrailer and this is the first time I have had a problem and I will not be ording from them again. So disappointed.
This Saris Superclamp HD is a well designed bike rack for any sized bike. It will hold any type bike including ebikes. With 2 sets of clamps for each bike, it ensures that each bike is well secured with at least one clamp, which most racks only have anyway. The straps securely hold the wheels down so no movement is possible. Once properly secured, the hidden keyed safely cable helps to ensure the safe travel of the bikes.

The Saris Superclamp HD has been a great product for us. It just works well. It holds 140 pounds of eBikes safely and securely. With the added light bar, it makes the complete package. It couldn’t be any better.
I have bought 2 trailer hitches, one plug and play wiring harness, one bicycle rack from etrailer. I could not make the wiring harness work properly. I called etrailer and they forwarded me to a factory representative. The factory rep had me do several tests and said the harness was bad. Etrailer sent me a replacement harness. I have always had good luck with etrailer, good vidios, nice people to talk to, and they stand behind their products. Great company.

We are still very happy with the product. Everything is still working as it should and as we expect. Would definitely purchase a Saris product again from Etrailer.
