Take full advantage of your vehicle's hitch receiver - tow a vehicle or trailer and carry up to two bikes by installing this Swagman bike carrier onto your 2" square ball mount. The bike rack shank includes a bracket that simply slides over your ball mount and tightens with screws, adding in just seconds the ability to haul 2 bikes.

This rack comes with wheel hoops that provide a stable base for mounting your bikes. The hoops adjust with a hand knob and slide along the arms of your rack to accommodate bikes with wheelbases up to 52" and tires up to 3-1/2" wide.

The upright arm includes a pair of push-button hooks that hold your bikes securely in place to prevent bike-to-bike and bike-to-vehicle contact during transport. The hooks feature soft padding to protect your bike frame, are offset so that you can carry two bikes of the same size simultaneously, and can be locked with a 1/4" padlock. Fold down the entire upright arm by pulling a pin at the base; this enables you to reach all the gear in your vehicle's rear cargo area obstacle free.

You can release the side arms of the rack by pulling pins at the base, then fold them up for convenient storage.

I have used the Swagman Traveler XCS Towing Hitch Bike Rack for one year. It allowed me to carry my bike on my car when pulling my trailer. The rack provided a solid carrier for my bike. I also liked that I could lock the bike to the rack without a cable. I did use a cable lock when I left my bike for long periods of time on the car, but that was probably overkill. I liked this option for two major reasons - it allowed me to easily load my mountain bike (roof rack was not an option) and it allowed me to leave my trailer at the campsite and still carry my bike to trail heads around the campground. It was easy to put together on my hitch (required an extended ball mount) and to load my bike even when attached to the trailer. When I was not using the bike rack to carry the bike, it was easy to remove the bike rack (the part that the bike sits on) without removing the entire hitch. This was necessary to open the rear door (car: Subaru Outback). When the bike rack part was off, the rear door did open without any problems. Another issue I did experience was the lack of turning radius when backing up with the bike on the rack. This was not a negative with the rack itself, but with the configuration of my trailer yoke (short) and size of storage box on the yoke. A second issue was that the rack did partially block the view for by backup camera for when I was connecting the trailer. With practice I learned to use other cues to hook up to the trailer when the bike rack is on the car. Overall a good purchase and would recommend to anyone wanting to use a trailer and still carry a bike on the car, especially if there are issues of getting a bike on a roof rack. 736267

Hi Carol; I received the package late afternoon yesterday. This morning I assembled the rack and installed it on our RV (Coachmen Concorde). I loaded my bike and adjusted the rack. Have not gone anywhere yet but plan to in a couple of weeks. Just wanted you to know that I have a Blue Ox tow bar to tow my car. The only I see that deploying the tow bar is a little trouble because the bike rack is in the way. I found that using a large screwdriver, I can pry the tow bar and just clears the rack. We'll see how it works in action. I think the combination of rack/tow bar will be great. 866113

The bike rack works great for our needs. We haul 2 bikes with different axel centers. So the adjustability is terrific. We also use this bike rack on the back of our class c motorhome. We are still able to flat tow our Chevy Colorado pickup. 772623

- S64664
by:

This is going to help us transport our bikes on the motorhome to prevent damage to the bikes. Love that we can pull the boat and carry the bikes to the same destination. Good quality and design. The two small screws to prevent the tire hoops from sliding off the rail are useless though, I replaced them with self tapping screws that are more robust. 732413

The Swagman bike carrier has performed well. It's a bit heavy so keep that in mind when you are calculating for the cargo carrying capacity of your vehicle, along with the tongue weight of your trailer and the bikes. The wheel loops seemed a bit flimsy but they have held up just fine. The center post gets scratched up as you move the arms up and down to hold your bikes on. It's not a big deal but if you leave the rack on year round it will rust (at least here in Wisconsin). But it allowed me to carry bikes behind my truck and in front of our travel trailer so it's easy to load and aerodynamic. I would recommend this product. 692886

I failed to recognize that it did not come with the two inch extension bar, but that was my bust. It is easy to assemble, sturdy, and well designed. I pull a trailer and boat and this rack allows me to keep my bikes out of the way and secured. Delivery of the rack was unbelievably fast and little or no damage to the package. 616104

I tried other bike racks on or motorhome, but none of them worked. This rack works exactly as I hoped it would. I needed a 12” extension added to the motorhome hitch. The rack slips over tow vehicle hitch. Pretty simple install and worked great. We have been using for over a year now. 593619

- S64664
by:

This rack is perfect behind our motor home! It slides over the tow bar and has absolutely no interference with our tow vehicle. The rack is easy to load/unload. The vertical hooks to secure the bikes work, but I also use some wire twists on the wheels and top tube for extra security. I do have to remove the reciever/tow bar that the rack is mounted to for access to the engine bay, but that is a rare event and not a big hassle. Overall a very functional and useful bike rack. I carry a carbon fibre road bike and mountain bike with no issues. 579595

Very pleased with my purchase! It was shipped and delivered exactly when etrailer said I could expect it. The bike rack solves a problem for me I encountered when trying to figure out how to tow my 13ft Scamp without mounting bike rack on back of trailer or on roof of car. It is very easy for me to use, but, more importantly, my wife is able to put her bike in the rack on her own. We are taking a camping trip shortly and will be able to test it out thoroughly., 551756

Great product.. would definitely buy an other. 550174

Very sturdy bike rack. It has been hooked to the back of our travel trailer for a year now, exposed to the desert elements. The pins that hold the arms in position got rusty pretty quick but everything else looks new. The clamps that hold the bikes in can be a little difficult to move up and down and they will pinch your fingers at every opportunity. Could use a few tweaks but all in all it gets the job done. 520500

  • Can Swagman Traveler XCS S64664 be used on Roadmaster Nighthawk 8k Tow Bar
Yes, the Swagman Traveler XCS # S64664 can attach to the shank of your Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar part # RM-677. The rack will attach to the tow bar just like the ball mount you've used. I attached a picture of it attached to a very similar Roadmaster tow bar for you to check out as well.

  • BIke Rack that Allows You to Haul a Small Trailer
The Swagman Traveler XCS - Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Ball Mount part # S64664 is an option to do this but it has a 35 lbs. per bike capacity. If your bikes with the batteries removed are less than that this rack will work well. Use it with Hidden Hitch Ball Mount part # 80232 it's extra length really helps with the turning clearance on your small trailer. Check out the video on the rack that I have linked for you.

The Swagman Traveler XCS # S64664 and the Swagman Bike Rack # S64663 referenced in your question differ only in how they actually attach to the vehicle or RV/trailer. Both bike carriers are indeed approved for use behind an RV or trailer. The Swagman Traveler # S64664 will actually secure to a 2 inch square ball mount. This is a nice option if you plan on towing a trailer behind your RV while also needing to secure the bike rack. The Swagman Bike Rack # S64663, on the other hand, includes...

For an RV approved hitch bike rack that has enough capacity for E-bikes the best option is the Swagman Escapee # S64693 as it is 2-bike, RV approved, has the weight capacity for E-bikes, and also only touches the bikes at the tires. I do have an option that will allow you to use a bike rack on the rear of the vehicle while towing a tow dolly, however, there currently are not any dual hitch adapters that will allow you to use a 10" drop ball mount and remain within your weight capacity. The Swagman Traveler XCS Platform-Style 2 Bike Towing Rack # S64664 is intended for use on the shank of a 2-inch ball mount. It is not recommended for use on a hitch extension like # C45791. The reason is that any type of hitch extender will have the unavoidable side-effect of reducing your hitch's capacity by 50-percent. This loss of capacity results from the change in geometry caused by the extender. If you need to tow and use a hitch-mount rack at the same time you can use the Curt...
